INTERPRETACIÓN EXTRA: Batallé con hallarle un sentido a la traducción de la canción porque Passive puede entenderse de distintos modos: una puede ser tomando en cuenta una figura femenina desde el inicio, como una pareja, cuando el doctor le dice al prota (Maynard, el vocalista de la banda): "Dead as dead can be", traduciéndolo como "Está tan muerta como los muertos", como si ella estuviera en el hospital. Pero el prota no le cree, y empieza a creer que su pareja se está haciendo la muerta y empieza a retarla a levantarse y enfrentarse con él, pero al final le deja la advertencia de que puede irse y decirle que se siente decepcionado, y que quizás esté mejor así, porque cree que es como "una pérdida de tiempo".
O también, puede ser como al final quedó en el video, una lucha interna de Maynard con él mismo, con un personaje imaginario que podemos llamar "El Hombre Muerto", pero que tan solo es él, y que trata de incitar a ese demonio a que peleé con él, pero al final pasa lo mismo, se decepciona, y casi casi se queda burlándose de él diciéndole que está mejor haciéndose el muerto.
