The Lord X in Hellbent is from the original version of the PC Port. And I wouldn't say he's an EXE knockoff since, he's basically their king in terms of a hierarchy, I mean, it's literally in the name: LORD X. And yes, he loves to play with his victims because he finds it amusing when they try to escape.

Misconceptions to clear up
X didnt transform, the look here is whats inside the sonic vessel he usually appears as
The sonic characters shown here and even the sonic vessel x wears arent sonic characters, theyre humans that x has killed and put in vessels here. So far the only named one is alan, whos in the tails vessel. As for the sonic vessel, its reserved for x's favorite victims, even if he wears them like a suit.
As for the triple trouble resemblance in slaves, thats x's thing, mimicing other exes gigs and mocking them for it, though the slves song is getting a big change soon
