      Have you looked into how many people have changed in the band? Talk about that. Different people have different styles. The man who wrote all of doom wasn’t part of the next album...

      And they only got better stylistically. Deathcore was sounding lame at the turn of the decade. They ditched it before it became the mumble rap of metal. Just legit everyone biting off the same style. I'd say doom is musically almost unrecognizable by what's considered deathcore now. They had far too much melody for what's around now. And then they'd make sun eater and achieve ultra instinct

    Honestly early jfac is goated, its almost symphonic in how flows from riff to riff, multiple breakdowns per song all unique, i miss first wave deathcore 😢

    I wish Doom sounded like this. This demo is more melodeath than deathcore or death metal. The intro of What We Once Called Home gives me chills every time I listen to it.

      Aleksander Abdulov Early Metalcore was very very heavily influenced by melodic death metal. It was basically At The Gates and Carcass Riffs with Breakdowns thrown in and there wasn't even much singing at first. Deathcore was similar just it tended to be less melodic and have more of an Old School American death metal vibe. I heard a lot of Suffocation in Doom.

      Fun fact, when this demo debuted they played the show at a church opening for a band called Desole's EP release party. I kicked a hole in the wall of the auditorium slamming.

    This demo f*cking ruled, hard, melodic, the break downs kicked *ss. They went downhill when the drummer went to college. DOOM retained some of the melodic-ness, then they lost it all in Genesis which I really didn't like.

      Genesis is by far my favorite album from them, cool thing about this band is they have an album for everyone it seems. They covered lots of musical ground when they were around. Sun eater is really really good too front to back

      It is pretty metalcore, as far as 90s/00s core goes.
      Genres evolve, it couldn't be earth crisis forever. This is verging on melodic metalcore that actually has metalcore roots
