  • Early March and we are planting Cabbage, Carrots and Beets in our market garden on SouthDown Farm. Using our Grillo walk behind tractor to shape and prepare beds. Watch and enjoy planting on a beautiful late winter day.

    Nice work. My Granddad had a walk behind tractor, he called it a horse.

      Walk behind tractors have been around for a while, lots of old timers had Gravelys...tough machines many are still running today!

      I would say to look at the dealer support in your area. I got a BCS because their was a dealer near by. I got a BCS 722 with a 26” tiller. Great machine. Also have the 28” snowblower too.

    Throw the fertilizer in that stand and plant so you don't have to go back after. It looks like it would save you time and money

    What model Grillo is that? How wide is the rototiller attachment? I’ve got a BCS 722 with a 26” tiller. Nice operation! Nice garlic you’ve got going too!

    Why would you use the planter to then go back and hand plant?

    • @southdownfarm6323
      @southdownfarm6323  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question! First we forgot to add nitrogen then wanted to mix some into the soil. Second, my daughter prefers to hand plant over using the Stand N Plant. She is not the best at spacing the plants so I placed the plants then she mixed in the soil and firmed the plants in the soil.

    Just for info. You have Grillo instead of BCS. Any reason why? Asking because i am in market for WB tractor.

    • @southdownfarm6323
      @southdownfarm6323  Před 3 lety

      Yes, I think both WBs are great machines. The BCS is a little easier to reverse the handle bars and the Grillo is a better price point. I went for the price point. I have no regrets!
