    I had a 1981 white & blue. Sheer insanity. I have a '02 Kawi ZRX 1200r now. I still love the RD.

Just the intake sounds make me laugh like a crazy Man. I spent so many miles and days smoking 650’s and 750’s all over the Texas Hill Country on RD’s and RZ’s, it was some of the most fun I ever had in my life.🤣

Loved that . I raced a rz350 from 1984 to 1986 . Yamaha had the RZ challenge and the final was at Daytona. I loved it because I could race 4 classes and even in WERA expert 750 class I was always able to do pretty good . I had a yellow KR bike .

#1 rule with 2 strokes - always ride with at least 1 finger on the clutch lever ready for a heat seize!

On the air-cooled one's you are correct! But the water cooled 🏍 bike's were better! As long as you didn't get stupid with jetting! I learned that sparkplugs are cheaper , and easier to change than pistons! Thou shall not run lean!!! ..lol..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋 🤠

Sounds like a thin pilot circuit. I hear ping and see surging at very low throttle. The surging might be the valves at the edge of opening but the ping is for sure a lean pilot circuit. High rpm-very low throttle is danger. Nice engine though good power!

They are lectron carbs, only have a metering rod and power jet, power jet I have dialed in but the metering rod might need a twist higher

Makes sense. Good to know yours runs pretty well with the lectrons cause that's on my short list of mods for my '90 rz350 hybrid and/or my tzr250 1kt with custom intake. I understand the lectrons have different metering rods which are measured in 2 numbers one being below half throttle one being above half. Perhaps try one with a richer below half but similar above to the one you have now. I could be wrong though audio doesn't always transfer well enough to tell the whole story. She's still not giving you problems?

@@PurpleMonkeyWaffle I have had lectron a before on two stroke mx bikes, you’ll love the carbs, once you get them dialed in you don’t have to touch them. Plus there’s the added benefit of better fuel consumption. I can go about 25miles further on the same tank

That will be handy since I use premix klotz and can only get non ethanol fuel at 2 places near me. The lectrons atomize the fuel so much better so it makes sense it would use less. Like you said the set it and forget it part is the best. Where I live the morning and night can be 15+ celcious difference so that's my main reason for wanting them. But that price tag is huge! For me in Canada it will be over 2 grand for 2 carbs and a throttle cable hahaha fuck!!
