    How many "stale air" ducts can this unit accommodate?

      They come in various sizes and capacities to be able to handle any size home. These can even be used commercially.
      An HVAC contractor can appropriately size the device to match the space www.lifebreath.com/us/homeowners-2/find-a-contractor/

      HRV transfers heat only. ERV also transfers moisture to prevent excessive moisture/dryness depending on outdoor weather, but ERV typically cannot handle very low temperatures.

    Is there a way to actually contact this company for regular homeowners? The door fell off ours, it is not straight and will not close and is collecting mold

      @dylangiesbrecht2163 Před 4 měsíci

      Call a tech, that isn't an issue they'll help with. Probably a humidity issue in your furnace room. Sounds like the door wasn't put on properly. Could be broken or just not set properly.

    can 267max model be installer horizontally?

    • @KGGConsulting
      @KGGConsulting  Před rokem

      Thanks for your question. The 267 MAX has to be installed in the configuration you see in the picture. There is a drain pan on the bottom that collects condensation and if the unit was sitting in any other position water would leak from it.

    • @KGGConsulting
      @KGGConsulting  Před rokem

      Hello Aaron and thanks for the question. The watts will depend on the model and the fan speed. The specification sheets for each model can be found on the Lifebreath website: www.lifebreath.com/products/residential-heat-recovery-ventilation-hrv-units/

    first of all, awesome, I think this video came out weeks after i finished installing mine! This would have been helpful but still nice to confirm I did it right
    I am currently balancing it and this helped out a ton! Just curious, at 11:45 it says (for example) 'desired and appropriate cfm for a building' is 160 cfm, where do I gather that number? I know in the lifebreath manual there are some metrics for duct size but I cant make sense of it..
    I was going to just maximize the cfm while ensuring they are balanced, ie only dampering whichever side needs to be lowered

    • @berniepaquette4360
      @berniepaquette4360 Před 3 lety +7

      I can help with this. The 160CFM is the TVC (total ventilation capacity) of the home. This is determined by a few methods depending where you live. For example: if you are in the U.S you can use the Ashrae method which is total volume of the house (square footage multiplied by ceiling height) multiplied by .35 (1/3 air change) and divided by 60 (minutes per hour) which will give you your total CFM needed for the house. If you are in Canada then you can use the room count method and add all the CFMs for each room and get a total CFM. For example: A master bedroom and basement require 20cfm each, and any other living space is 10cfm. Here's another example:
      Master Bedroom = 20cfm
      Basement= 20cfm
      Bedroom 1= 10cfm
      Bedroom 2= 10cfm
      Bathroom 1= 10cfm
      Bathroom 2= 10cfm
      Living room= 10cfm
      Kitchen = 10cfm
      Dining room= 10cfm
      Total CFM= 110 cfm
      This may help you when trying to size an HRV for your home but it's always best practice to have a designer or engineer help spec your HRV/ERV based on the duct work and static pressures in the ducting system.

    These Must Be a Really Old Video And/Or Really Old Units. The Ports have Damper Style Adjusters that you have to Manually Adjust. Most Modern ERV/HRVs have Automatic Adjustable Fan Controls. I Was Looking At The 130 Or 230 Units. But I Couldn't See Any Photos Or Videos Of the Actual Unit Anywhere Online. I think I Now Know Why.... Plus These does not even Have any Controls Attached Like Most/All Modern Units do.

  • @coffeeisthepathtovictory1290

    Why are HRV's and ERV's so needlessly expensive?
    Has there not been enough working class families suffocating in their sleep?

    • @KGGConsulting
      @KGGConsulting  Před 3 lety

      We understand and empathize where you are coming from. Fresh air is crucial even if it means cracking a window from time to time (which we recommend). There are many models of air exchangers to choose from and some are less expensive than others but you always "get what you pay for" it seems. The LifeBreath exchanger cores and beneficial features are the best in class and will last a very long time...this is where much of the cost lies. We see many applications where simple fresh air dampers and fans are used but then the added load on the HVAC would cause higher energy consumption and higher utility bills (which is why many homes have been extremely insulated to the to begin with). Every home and occupant is unique and solutions can be found in most cases that can fit any budget.
