He played the first one and already knew of the sound design gimmick, it really doesn't even do much, oh wow there is a right ear voice and a left ear voice and they say largely the same things while diverging about 10 percent of the time, how captivating 🙄 once you know of the gimmick you can even play the game with the sound off and it won't take anything away from the experience of having a few voices talk in different ears lol

If you remember correctly, when hellblade2 was announced UNREAL5 had not yet been released, only after the announcement of UNREAL5 was NINJATHEORY announced that they would move from UNREAL4 to UNREAL5, so when they say that in all those years they did little, in reality you have to count NOT from the date of the announcement of HELLBLADE2 but from the release and release to the developers of UNREAL5

5 hours is laughably short jesus Christ haha. That by no means should be a £50 game. God of war Ragnaroks free dlc is longer than 5 hours this is a dlc at best. Especially for a game thats all about the story and emotions of playing through the game for the first time and less about replayability or a good gaming loop, only being one sitting or maybe not even a full game session long is ridiculous. If i pay £50 for a game and am already done with it and playing something else in the same day that is obsurd. It looks like a pretty good couple hours but by no means should be £50. Most £1-2 indie games ive bought can even be a dozen or two dozen hours worth of gameplay. Edit: i might reduce my "pretty good" to just an alright. I watched a vid going in depth on the combat and it looks quite bad haha, from what ive watched on stream and that other vid it isnt even really combat most of the time, the youtuber deliberately pressed the wrong buttons and let himself get hit a load to try to lose but 9 times out of ten senua would just win anyway even if you were trying to lose which is just awful, you can see it very clear at the start of this vid, penguins just unga bunga swinging and missing loads but she still keeps doing the takedowns regardless how much he gets grabbed or hit.
Tbh tho it’s Xbox exclusive so who doesn’t have game pass? Doesn’t make it a good game but it’s mainly there for people who really like the game to buy and support it everyone else just gonna try it on game pass

I think this medium need a specific name. Like Visual Novels. Cinematic games are very story heavy, have long cutscenes etc, butalso have some gameplay to support it. If those cutscenes and story heavy walk nearly absorb all gameplay. Then those "games" need another title. Which differentiate those from general games. 'Interact Movie' or something like that. Which highlights that it's a movie with gaming elements. Not a game with movie heavy elements as other cinematic games are.
This is on Xbox game pass for me, so personally for the value it’s kind of tremendous 🔥 not sure this game has been critiqued from the same perspective people give when playing other psychological games.

Both games you just go forward, solve puzzles, fight some dudes, boss fight, next area, repeat. I'm baffled at people like you saying "that is wild". I guess they could've stretched it to 20 hours by making you stealth through villages, collecting some type of collectable, add a skill tree, maybe some 1 liners... Hellblade 1 combat was not super good. But at least it was more challenging. 1. Multiple enemies attack u 2. ACTUAL BOSS FIGHTS. Valraven, Surtr, Garmr fights were pretty fun. There are no bosses here. The animation and moves by the solo enemies 2 are kinda better and more challenging. But still... We needed boss fights. We dont even get to fight the giants first before "saving them". Im also so disappointed by the ending. It just.. ended. And the final giant wasnt a giant. Wtf was this company doing for 5 years? If this is what they deliver, its stupid that its 60 bucks. 30 at most come on

As a fan of the first game, who was hyped tremendously for the second since the announcement years back. As someone who stayed up all night to play it at 9AM the moment it released. I can safely say we were all handed a steaming pile of shit and somehow downgraded from the first.

This is a slightly interactive movie more then anything. 10$/hour of "gameplay". 1.4 years of development/hour of "gameplay" in finished product. I won’t lie and say the gameplay is engaging tho, it’s completely understandable why people don’t like it. It’s definitely for a niche audience. Been awhile since I played the first one but there was a bit of a horror factor that I liked at certain parts. At some point I was navigating through an area in the dark being chased by something. Not even sure how I got out of it
So, he presses start at the 6 minute mark, and gameplay doesn’t start until 21 minute mark. Thats 15 minutes, a couldn't believe my eyes. And i don't consider walking around to be really gameplay. Actual combat gameplay doesn’t happen till after the 29 minute mark. 23 minutes from hitting start to actually being able to fight something. The game is 7 hours long. That was 17% of the game right there, jesus Christ.

5 hours is laughably short jesus Christ haha. That by no means should be a £50 game. God of war Ragnaroks free dlc is longer than 5 hours this is a dlc at best.
Especially for a game thats all about the story and emotions of playing through the game for the first time and less about replayability or a good gaming loop, only being one sitting or maybe not even a full game session long is ridiculous.
If i pay £50 for a game and am already done with it and playing something else in the same day that is obsurd.
It looks like a pretty good couple hours but by no means should be £50. Most £1-2 indie games ive bought can even be a dozen or two dozen hours worth of gameplay.
Edit: i might reduce my "pretty good" to just an alright. I watched a vid going in depth on the combat and it looks quite bad haha, from what ive watched on stream and that other vid it isnt even really combat most of the time, the youtuber deliberately pressed the wrong buttons and let himself get hit a load to try to lose but 9 times out of ten senua would just win anyway even if you were trying to lose which is just awful, you can see it very clear at the start of this vid, penguins just unga bunga swinging and missing loads but she still keeps doing the takedowns regardless how much he gets grabbed or hit.
Tbh tho it’s Xbox exclusive so who doesn’t have game pass? Doesn’t make it a good game but it’s mainly there for people who really like the game to buy and support it everyone else just gonna try it on game pass

I think this medium need a specific name. Like Visual Novels. Cinematic games are very story heavy, have long cutscenes etc, butalso have some gameplay to support it. If those cutscenes and story heavy walk nearly absorb all gameplay. Then those "games" need another title. Which differentiate those from general games. 'Interact Movie' or something like that. Which highlights that it's a movie with gaming elements. Not a game with movie heavy elements as other cinematic games are.

Been awhile since I played the first one but there was a bit of a horror factor that I liked at certain parts. At some point I was navigating through an area in the dark being chased by something. Not even sure how I got out of it

And i don't consider walking around to be really gameplay.
Actual combat gameplay doesn’t happen till after the 29 minute mark. 23 minutes from hitting start to actually being able to fight something.
The game is 7 hours long. That was 17% of the game right there, jesus Christ.
