If you saw what the Skyline looked like when Craig had it. You wished they kept the skyline the way he had it.
I'm looking at doing a reverse of this. It's going to be silver on blue, and it's going to be on a WRX. I just put the deposit on the wrap today and sent over the photos. We'll see what the mock up looks like, and if I like it, I should have it on by this time next week!

I didn't like them at first either, but they've grown on me.
Its crazy how almost 20 years later.. We are now being told all this information. Better late than never
funny same here.. maybe its made on purpose that we get to know what was real or fake and how things were done cause if we knew that earlier the movies wouldnt have such a good reputation and the sells might have been much worse than they were. for example the fact that they used only 1 real gtr in the fourth movie. i thought 2 fast 2 furious had gtt's and less real gtrs. after theyve done their job and made enough profit now we know some more details. never mind they did their job good and i still love the franchise. gotta admit though 2 fast 2 furious was the real deal. i love the other movies as well but they are not what they are meant to be

@RJ 97 There were magazine articles, TV programmes, interviews and all sorts of other stuff since the movie came out. Perhaps you missed those? This is just adding some detail to that and possibly correcting some mistakes, myths and misconceptions from the previous info.
DUDE, without those stripes, 90% of us wouldn't have had that glorious childhood we had w/ F&F series.

Nah! wouldn't have made a difference minus the stripes, the car had other details to keep us happy. Craig was right and he has an eye for details.

@@justadude9101 yeah they did, i'm saying if it was minus the stripes in the middle but still had graphics to the side it would have made no difference at the time.. the car still would have stood out because it's a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.

He probably means how they both have a boxy look instead of something with more curves like an M4 or Supra. Not to mention the headlights are similar with their rectangular shape. Yes you would never mistake one for another but it doesn't take a genius to draw similarities between the two.
Considering that the English had them before the "muscle car" term existed, even calling the stripes "muscle car stripes" is a bit... off the mark. AC had them before the Shelby deal.

As much as I love that Evo, I would’ve preferred the GTR be his main car the entire movie. Very upsetting to think that was possible, IMO the movie would’ve been so much cooler.
And even though the Evo was the "Main Car" the GT-R still out-shined the Evo completely.
Also, if you think about it, All of the GT-R's in the whole series never made it to the end of the movie.
TF&TF R33 - Wasn't seen after the middle of the movie
2F2F R34 - Got impounded (supposedly)
TF&TF:TD R34 - got beaten by Han's RX-7
F&F4 R34 - Got blown up
F5 2000GT-R - Wasn't seen after the following the safe part
F&F6 R35 - Seen only in the start
F&F7 R35 - Got blown up
F&F8 - Not to be seen at all.
If you guys didn't know, the main reason they stuck with Mitsubishi instead of the skyline is because they copied a Japanese movie and the main character drove a Mitsubishi eclipse, so when they copied that movie, they stuck to what was on that movie.

Funny 2 Fast 2 Furious was my favorite movie out of all 8 of them
That was my least favorite. Even Tokyo Drift is 100 times better and I didn't like the hick main actor or annoying bow wow.

This Car is basically the Crown Jewel of Cars in "The Fast and the Furious" series.
The scene where the GTR was taken out by that EMP thingy was actually Paul crashing the car unintendedly onto a parking meter on the curb.
Lol the gtr was the car I liked, but fell in love with after that intro scene where brian drove to the meet! The tail lights (and I actually liked the blue neon under the car) and the shots in the dark... wow to this day still... wow!
yeah... it's a shame they basically got rid of the car in less than 10 minutes to let him drive a below average looking evo for the rest of the movie.
This car played such a huge part in my childhood.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder! The GT-R paint scheme is by far my favourite of any of the Fast films
I completely forgot about the evo. The skyline never left my psyche or heart. I still dream of owning one 20 years later.

but the gtr is would not be the car for the job .i prefer it as a competitor car for the short race while the lancer is more competitive and the car for the job.its not used for the jobs because its appearance and its performance.the thing is made for racing but not heist jobs

I first watched this film when I was like 5 and this started my passion for cars. I always liked the skyline but being from England I'd never seen a muscle car before an import and we had the max power era when I was a kid so it looked great to me.

I mean, yeah! One: it's a movie and Two: people has different taste, be it no paintjobs on skylines, well suited design for ones or just free-degrees ones made by non-car people kind of artists.
But also, it's his car! He has rights to say his things, it's not like he's sending death threats to people who disagrees with him
Paintjob basically goes like this
If you weren't insane about cars or you were a child when this movie came out, then you thought this paintjob looked cool.
But if you worked on cars for a living or you were heavy in the tuning scene when this movie came out, then you thought this was the Antichrist on wheels.
This guy bought Skyline GTR for 48k in 2003-04, that's a bargain for a beast. Today each cost more than 350k each if you find one in good or even great condition.
Hey Craig, I just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. It's so interesting how you have the same taste in modifications as a lot of today's tuners when it comes to JDM cars and how the movies took it to a whole another level of weird when it came to cosmetics. Thank You man. And IMO, I fell in love with the car because of how it looked, sounded and performed in the movie so the stripes were pretty awesome. (I was around 5 years old at the time) and guess what, i still love the movie look. [Your look of the car was also pretty damn awesome]

As a real street racer at the time not one fast car ever ever had a big stereo system they didnt even have interiors to them let alone all the show pieces the cars in these movies had

When this came out on DVD I had just gotten a 5.1 Dolby surround sound system and this was hands down my favorite movie to utilize the amazing sound quality. The scene where Brian is weaving through traffic to Ludacris’s “Act A Fool” was my first experience with ASMR lol. Just can’t get enough

Something I always wondered, what is the thin bit of piping in front of the intercooler of the GTR doing? I guessed it was an intercooler water spraying system but I wanted to ask someone more experienced with these cars.
