Gray, your audience has a lot of women who were molested as children, some from their biological father. It's something you know nothing about. Can you try to not run them down for feeling the way they do. Especially please dont tell them that they are embarrassing. Come on, you can do better than that.

Why are you arguing semantics? It doesn't matter if you trust someone. You don't let your child, who is a underage girl sleep with a man that you are not even married to or dating. I think you're trying to argue semantics bc you feel triggered as a male

In Florida, child neglect refers to a caregiver’s failure to provide essential care, supervision, and services necessary for a child’s physical and mental well-being. This includes neglecting to provide food, shelter, clothing, medicine, and failing to protect the child from abuse or neglect by others.
    Legal Responsibility:
Laws regarding child abuse can differ by jurisdiction, but generally, parents and caregivers have a legal duty to protect their children from harm.
If a mother was unaware of her boyfriend’s abusive actions, she might not be directly liable for child abuse. However, the legal system may still investigate the situation.
If a mother knew or reasonably should have known about the abuse but failed to take action, she could face legal consequences
    Investigation and Evidence:
Authorities would investigate the circumstances thoroughly.
Evidence, witness statements, and the mother’s level of awareness would play a crucial role in determining culpability. I am sure they are investigating whether JS or anyone had a suspicion and should have protected this child. GRAY I am sure you have researched this as well.
I am with you on most of your opinions.

The rigor mortis timing is interesting. She may have been stiffening while being driven around. As he moved her to the trunk, her hair sweeping down may have made her appear limp…
Her knees were bent in the passenger seat, also in the trunk. It makes sense that she was found in a semi fetal position in the trees. Her legs wouldn’t have been able to straighten out at the time of dumping.

I genuinely appreciate your ability to discern and not just jump on a collective bandwagon to shame and blame. Thank you for not ju.mping to conclusions or being accusatory and shaming single mothers who date. Your take throughout this case resonates with me so much because I share the same perspectives. For clarity, I was a child victim for over a decade, and then I was also a single mother for a few more. So I can relate to so many layers of this. And I am therefore personally holding back any condemnation towards Jenn. I personally do not believe she was involved in any way. I believe Stephan groomed them both very well, he's a true narcissist. I believe he also drugged them both at various times. I believe Jenn most definitely is suffering a nightmare and I can't even fathom her pain right now. If anything comes to light to prove me otherwise, I'll eat my own words but I believe he manipulated her and Maddie both, (her family didn't like him) and he had her convinced that they were wrong about him and he was right. I assume he played a woe is me card and she felt sorry for him. Time will reveal more and thank you for keeping a level head about this.

Definitely never allow your 13 year old daughter to sleep with any man. I doubt she was scared enough to want to sleep with him anyway. I'm sure that's some excuse he made up. I definitely won't be following you or even finishing this episode. AND it is a good practice to keep random men out of your life. If it takes not dating until they are 18 then so be it. Kids don't ask to be brought into this world. Once you have a child your life is put on the back burner until your child moves out.

Gray, I got wondering if he drugged her with something, maybe telling her it was an innocent over the counter med like melatonin. Maybe he told her it was something he took himself and that it really helped him rest with no side effects and wouldn't interact with her regular meds. Whatever med he gave her didn't affect her much, and she tried to fight him off. Since the following morning was so disorganized, he might not have expected he was going to end up killing her. As for Jen, I don't think she participated in the demise of her daughter or knew about it shortly after the fact. I'm sure things became clear in retrospect, especially after seeing the pictures. I agree she was groomed right along with Maddie, but at some point, wouldn't she have thought it was a bad idea for Maddie to be sleeping in the same bed with her on again, off again boyfriend? Maddie was becoming a young lady with a figure; Jen didn't find this inappropriate? Jen needed her sleep...... It had been a big day for Maddie , also, and she would have school the next day. Didn't Maddie also need her rest? Stephen couldn't crash on the couch or get a hotel? It's obvious what the intent was for his visit. A person can sit on death row for many years. I hope I'm alive the day he gets the needle.

So if she didn't normally wear jeans to school, we can reasonably assume she was dead before he dressed her for school. He wears jeans so that's where his mind went. Plus weren't her shoes loose on her feet? They had to be to put them on. Ever tried putting shoes on a sleeping kid? You have to pretty much untie them all the way first.
And about the dog leash....I hope they tested it for DNA. Who puts a dog's leash on in the bedroom? Normal people put it on by the door right before you take them out. I don't remember ever hearing the dog was taken out, but I may have missed it.

In this situation it was also normal for the s.. to happen. And a grown man, biológico or not sleeping with a 13 year old, ( men do wake up with ... ) is not ok and should not be normalized, but but with society the way it is, and tv shows, we are slowly being desensitized and taught every thing is normal and everything goes. I dated a guy that cilld protective services alerted me to my 10 year old being groomed by the guy I was dating for 2 years ( thank god) and at first I didn't believe it, but then realized he had lied about somethings that he had told the child protective agency. Anyhoo, I had to kick him out or child agency was going to take my daughter. So grateful for this. And he laughed telling me how he cuddles with his exs gorgeous daughter. Gross . Now had anything happened, we will never know. Yes this stuff is normalized, but that doesn't mean it's a good choice

i think it's extreme to say no dating until the children are 18. people with kids are allowed to move on and have a life. i think parents shouldn't have a revolving door of parnters and moving in people they barely know. vet them well, don't rush things and have SOLID communication, and a solid relationship, with your children. i do not agree with co-sleeping, including biological fathers (boundaries). she should've had her own room or her mother should've slept on the couch. there are plenty good men . we just need to vet people as best as we can. some will slip through the cracks because a predator is that: a predator.

There is no reason for a 13 year old (or at any age >3) to sleep in bed with her mother on a daily basis. If she is afraid to sleep alone still at that age she needs therapy. Or at least a more invested mother who would have made the effort to slowly build off that habit. Like you would do with a toddler that climbs into your bed every night.
There is absolutely no reason for a 13 year old to sleep in a separate room in the same bed with ANY man.
Would you let your teenage sister sleep in the same bed with your boyfriend/husband, when you need a "good night sleep"?
Would you allow your 13 year old daughter to sleep with her 13 year boyfriend in the same bed? ("no touching! promise?")
Jen broke off with SS in december 23. The first time after almost 2 months he shows up and that same night she needs "a good night sleep" again?
If SS was drugging Jen or Jen was taking sleeping pills every night would be a good night's sleep, right?
She only worked 1 day a week, they had roommates (that night too? why did Jen think she might have heard the roommates talking the morning after?)
Did Maddie ever stay at bff's house? Did her bff ever stay at her house? Jen said Maddie did not know where her bff lived, nor did she know her own address.
It is Jen and SS who claim that Maddie couldn't sleep alone, had ADHD, needed medication to sleep also (if I remember correctly). Did she though?
It is almost like Jen did not want Maddie to socialise with anyone but her and SS (and family members).
Jen being allegedly clueless about the abuse, not having even a slight suspicion, not even for a split second, doesn't excuse Jen's decisions.
    Zero motherly instinct.
You want good night's sleep? Send you ex(!) boyfriend home. Let your daughter sleep over at your mother's house.

Madeline couldn't sleep alone, that in itself should have been looked into, and some people can never imagine unthinkable depraved actions like this. I give the mom my support in this situation even if I don't agree. I won't fry someone for unintentional choices/behavior.

A predators come in all shapes and sizes, step parents, bio parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, neighbors, friends, teachers, doctors, police officers, pastors, strangers and even children.
You can not assume your child is safe because they are with a bio parent, just like you can't assume a step parent is automatically a predator.
The first step in keeping your kid safe is understanding that anyone can harm them. Another step would be to teach your child about consent (not just sexual but all forms) from a very early age, help them find their voice.
You must also understand that even if you do that, your child might not come forward.
We live in a very scary world, there are TONS of predators everywhere, chances are, you know a few. You're related to them, you work with them, you just don't know what they are doing.
All of this blame game is actually very scary because it goes to show that there are so many people out there who are not informed.
Statistics show, that most of you know someone who is or has been harmed or have been harmed yourself.
When the world is blaming mom and taking the blame off of the actual predator, you are also blaming the parents of every single child who has been SAed. You might not realize what you are doing, I'm here to tell you that those parents are seeing what you're saying.

1:18:42 The new law would serve to deter not people who would commit murder, but rather those who are thinking about sexually abusing a child.

It’s baffling to me that he drove back to the house before “taking her to school“ with her still in the car - WHAT IF HE CAME HOME TO GET THE DOG LEASH (not the gate clicker) and that’s what he used to strangle Maddie- and just acted like he was taking the dog out because Jenn saw him grabbing the leash? I can’t imagine him actually walking the dog while Maddie is in his front seat.. what if he drugged her that night and she wasn’t waking up and he panicked knowing that if she got medical attention for being drugged that he would get exposed for what he was doing to her while she was “asleep “

Dated at least 20 single moms and never have we slept together with her children. It’s so not the norm. The mom puts the child to sleep in the child’s room while I watch TV . Then once the kid(s) asleep we retire to the moms bedroom / just the 2 of us.

Which btw THANK YOU for going through. I often watch you and Vinnie and LYK while I’m working but also often before going to bed or my naps. Jenn doesn’t tell the officer that they talked about how he dropped her off. Yet when she first finds out she didn’t go to school, & she calls Maddie’s friend… she says what do u mean we dropped her off close to school… so she already knew that story. Unless she just didn’t tell the cops he told her that… she seems to have that story down exactly the same as him considering they weren’t together till they meet at her grandmas. That’s what’s weird to me

So if Maddie could not sleep alone, did she have to wait until Jen would go to bed? Even at the age of 8? Did she even have her own room, like a proper girl's room? Was her room numbered too? When did it all start, her not being able to sleep alone? Before that pos showed up?
Did she have to sleep in Jen's bed, because all the rooms were taken? Was it a money thing and was Maddie's anxiety just an excuse (made up)? Did SS contribute financially?

Predators find a way. No matter how much you talk to kids, try and protect. It happens outside of the home to. At their friend’s houses, in stores, movie theaters. You name it. It’s so scary when it happens to little girls. Bio dads do it to. & other family members…I guess the best thing is to teach the kids it’s okay to talk about it and that it’s not their fault. Tell tell. In my case I was told not to tell because my ma thought my dad would do something to the guy that would wind him up in jail. Different times though.
