On the pre snap call “ready down”, my Dad used to think it was saying “spaced out”, when I was playing this with my brother or my friends. This was the greatest game ever on the Nintendo for sure.
Maaaaannnnnnn, definitely! LT is the GOAT on defense....had a couple of hundo sack years with him myself...it caps at 127 sacks if curious lol...thanks for the comment.
It's a game of halves... that momentum shift around the 2:30 mark in the 3rd quarter was the story of the game. Also, some very poor clock management in the 4th by the NFC Team... Definitely need an OT rule change. AFC won this game, imo.
You missed placing lots of players in spots where they are best utilized. Pepper Johnson should have been in there as a middle line backer due to his Interception rating. Jerome Brown or Kevin Greene could be dropped, they are exactly the same. In the AFC you need to have a TE in that position. Duncan as a WR there will get run over on all the run plays by the linemen or line backers. Tecmo Geek screwed up there.
By far one the best football games ever. I really wish they would port this game over to the NES emulator on the nintendo switch online. Sadly, there is only Tecmo Bowl, which is a big downgrade from this game. Tecmo Super Bowl is superior in every way
perfect bowl? The AFC stunk up the field in the first half and then the NFC proceeded to nearly give the game away with turnovers. That is hardly perfect.

I mean its good and all but once you learn it the cpu stands no chance against you. Making it pretty boring unless your playing multiplayer in my opinion.
Like most people watching this ive played this game thousands of times. Jeffires and Duncan do not belong on the AFC probowl squad. Especially Duncan at TE you ruin your running game with Duncan's abysmal hp

Tecmo superbowl 1993 is this same exact game, but with better 16 bit graphics. And of course 93 roster. But yes, always a classic
I believe there is a mod/hack that exists for the SNES version where you can play with the rosters from the NES version.. very eager to try it 😊
I just hooked my nes and have this game, can't wait til after work to play allnight. My 2 friends, coors light and smokey the bowl will help me out.
