  • In this video we show you how to make a fun maze game for kids with cardboard, popsicle sticks, and two rare-earth magnets. As you move the indicator through the maze the magnets give resistance if you bump into one of the walls or hit a dead-end!
    1) Print a maze of your own creation or use the one in this video i.imgur.com/8VNdMCy.png on a normal sized 8.5x11 piece of paper.
    2) Cut out the boundary lines of the path on an 8.5x11 piece of paper
    3) Using a marker, make the lines using your template - then flip the cardboard and the template to make guidelines for the hidden magnet
    4) Use 5 stacks of 3-high popsicle sticks to make your boarders around the maze, forming the bottom of the maze into a "V" so if the magnets separate the one inside will fall to the starting area
    5) Cut popsicle sticks to form the maze inside lines, glue to cardboard in place
    6) Cut a wood rod to about 6 inches for the flag
    7) Drill 3 holes in a popsicle stick and then cut around two of the holes to make two squares with holes in the middle. On the third hole cut a rectangle to glue against the flag rod.
    8) Assemble the popsicle stick holes as seen in the video, adding a metal clip on the end to attract the magnet as the player crosses the finish line
    9) Glue an 8.5x11 piece of cardboard onto the back of the game, put the other magnet on the starting line and your done!
