Selling my 24' Class C and deciding between a little overlanding trailer or just tenting, which I've done most of my life. Decisions, decisions! Congrats Todd and Sheila!

Huge congrats guys. Iโve been looking at my next replacement for the Dooley and after watching the mayors video talking about how he loves his Volvo and all the upgrades heโs done and a couple of other people and now you seems like thereโs a trend growing, so I better start doing more research.

Wow, I knew when your episode highlighting an HDT aired it was only a matter of time. Iโm not even finished with the video yet and I must say you nailed it! Iโm suspecting a new wagon behind this rig but we will need to wait and see. It probably wasnโt on purpose bet the Black Mack was the highlight of the movie Convoy and as a trucker I thank you!
Atlanta Georgia rush hour 1986 , and my newly married wife and ......I.....decided to drive our new Russian Lada Communist car down to key west for some camping after spending $ 5462.00 dollars all in with taxes on our blue baby car. Lets see , what happened next ......Hmmm .....well, the shifter broke off the transmission hub in the mountains of Tennessee because I was racing a transport to the top of a summit in 2nd gear .........as we only had 90 HP on a downhill run. In the morning the heater core started leaking on our map stand under the glove box, THEN !! my wife's window collapsed into the door when I hit a pot hole. I mean you can't make this shit up and then we arrived in Atlanta for rush hour with an over heated motor and voltage regulator. As I prayed the Rosary we were up and down on a rollercoaster ride from hell with road rage behind us. Then this ( BIG ) red light was buzzing and flashing from an electrical storm under the hood. SUDDENLY !! the speedometer and RPM were snapping back and forth like they were ready to smash out of the viewing window on the dash ?? . And, that's when the exhaust pipe blew a hole wide ..........open 2 feet from the exhaust system.
Now, looking back now 38 years later the question was how much did that Traumatic Brain Injury effect me when I was a child playing " Evil Knievel " unsuccessfully. My Neurologist and the doctors love ask me were I was planning to buy parts for the car ? I heard one of them say in the Hospital hallway ........" maybe,.....just maybe,....he was planning on getting parts for the car that were........... parachuted Russian Jet .
KEY WEST : We got to our camp site set the tent and all I can say is their was a whole lot of silence and not many words were exchanged between us. BUT,... then we sat on two lawn chairs in the hot sun and had two real good Canadian beers and she noticed something strange as she looked at the car. She said " IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY IT'ss ALMOST LOOKS like it's RUSTING ....... look at the area by the door handle !!". " Impossible I said,....your just tired and weary from the long drive but I saw it too with very own eyes. .. Those F#^*&#$@#%$! .....beep....beep Russians.
I couldn't fall asleep in the tent so I sat outside with the Racoons , cried a little as I had another cold one. and THEN , I thought of something positive about this whole situation. I thought to myself that the Russian's could not really blow us up because if they ever fire a Nuclear device it's it's going to blow up the silo. I slept with a baby and sold our car when we got home for $ 800.00 bucks in Canadian Hockey cards .
In my mind I win because the that poor bastard " Joey ' ....that bought it went and put a $ 500.00 Pioneer stereo in it with nice speakers. lol......I To hear the neighbors tell it poor " Joey " proudly sat in his new ride and slide in a CD to listened to some Pink Floyd.
Some said it sounded like a car bomb ?? Another person said it looked like that movie with Robert Dinero in " Casino " with flames shooting out and all the smoke.
Wow talk about bring 2024 in with a bang! How exciting! Thank you for inspiring me to keep chasing my dreams because amazing things happen that I have never could have imagined. This is world every celebration and every trial and bumps in the road. I canโt tell you just how much I appreciate the both of you for just being who you are, and sharing yourselves in this world. Thank you for the reminder to keep the faith and keep going.

I just got done watching your video. I remember seeing that truck at the RV show and said WOW look at that truck. I wish now I would have gone over and looked at it closer. I saw it from the driver's side and didn't see the garage. That thing is unbelievable. Great work. Something to be proud of.

Atlanta Georgia rush hour 1986 , and my newly married wife and ......I.....decided to drive our new Russian Lada Communist car down to key west for some camping after spending $ 5462.00 dollars all in with taxes on our blue baby car. Lets see , what happened next ......Hmmm .....well, the shifter broke off the transmission hub in the mountains of Tennessee because I was racing a transport to the top of a summit in 2nd gear .........as we only had 90 HP on a downhill run. In the morning the heater core started leaking on our map stand under the glove box, THEN !! my wife's window collapsed into the door when I hit a pot hole. I mean you can't make this shit up and then we arrived in Atlanta for rush hour with an over heated motor and voltage regulator. As I prayed the Rosary we were up and down on a rollercoaster ride from hell with road rage behind us. Then this ( BIG ) red light was buzzing and flashing from an electrical storm under the hood. SUDDENLY !! the speedometer and RPM were snapping back and forth like they were ready to smash out of the viewing window on the dash ?? . And, that's when the exhaust pipe blew a hole wide ..........open 2 feet from the exhaust system.
Now, looking back now 38 years later the question was how much did that Traumatic Brain Injury effect me when I was a child playing " Evil Knievel " unsuccessfully. My Neurologist and the doctors love ask me were I was planning to buy parts for the car ? I heard one of them say in the Hospital hallway ........" maybe,.....just maybe,....he was planning on getting parts for the car that were........... parachuted Russian Jet .
KEY WEST : We got to our camp site set the tent and all I can say is their was a whole lot of silence and not many words were exchanged between us. BUT,... then we sat on two lawn chairs in the hot sun and had two real good Canadian beers and she noticed something strange as she looked at the car. She said " IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY IT'ss ALMOST LOOKS like it's RUSTING ....... look at the area by the door handle !!". " Impossible I said,....your just tired and weary from the long drive but I saw it too with very own eyes. .. Those F#^*&#$@#%$! .....beep....beep Russians.
I couldn't fall asleep in the tent so I sat outside with the Racoons , cried a little as I had another cold one. and THEN , I thought of something positive about this whole situation. I thought to myself that the Russian's could not really blow us up because if they ever fire a Nuclear device it's it's going to blow up the silo. I slept with a baby and sold our car when we got home for $ 800.00 bucks in Canadian Hockey cards .
In my mind I win because the that poor bastard " Joey ' ....that bought it went and put a $ 500.00 Pioneer stereo in it with nice speakers. lol......I To hear the neighbors tell it poor " Joey " proudly sat in his new ride and slide in a CD to listened to some Pink Floyd.
Some said it sounded like a car bomb ?? Another person said it looked like that movie with Robert Dinero in " Casino " with flames shooting out and all the smoke.

Now that is one beautiful rig. Congrats. As an owner of a black Kenworth T680, Get someone to add paint protection film to the front portion of the tractor at a minimum. It will save your paint and the truck stays a โlittleโ cleaner ๐

Spacecraft fifth wheel definitely incoming, the regular semi hitch on the back gives it away!
Be sure and get you a good CB since youโre going to of the line! Get a Cobra 29 LTD take it to a good CB shop and have the technician peak and tune it , buy you a good noise, canceling microphone, either a Road King 56, or a Actic and get a Metal longer than stock microphone Cable added to it, and one or two Five or 6 foot Francis CB antennas and you will be top of the line. And make sure you Learn how to utilize the squelch knob on the radio, really the only thing it does if you can tune it to where you donโt have to listen to all the BS from miles away you will only be able to hear people fairly close to you, and believe me people can say what they want to about CBโs but having the squelch knob turned up to where you can only hear the people fairly close to you. It will keep you out of some dangerous situations when I first started driving 35 years ago we were headed south to Florida on I 75 and I had turned up and all of the sudden, somebody came across the radio talking about a northbound 18 wheeler on the southbound side, headed directly toward us so we were able to pull off the road and save ourselves head on collision. Not to mention youโll be able to find out where highway backups are and listen out and find out how to get around them on the back roads before getting back on the interstate. Takes a little while to get used to them but they can save your life and they can be a pain in the butt., but that one particular time when I first started driving it definitely save my life.

Weโve been there done that and was just as excited as you are. Didnโt last long though, one year. There were several campgrounds that turned us away because they didnโt want my Kenworth T680 with camper on their property. we were also finding out that we were too big to fit in many campgrounds that claimed they were big rig friendly. Just got tired of the hassle and sold everything for a 35โ class A motorhome. Congratulations, though I wish you guys a lot of luck.

Congrats on the truck. It looks awesome. You will be amazed at the way the truck drives with the big diesel engine and automated transmission. Major difference from a dually. The 5th wheel on the back leads to believe I know the trailer brand that you will be going with. Safe travels.

Hey that's cool that you got an HDT. I am a truck driver I've been driving for over 20 years now. And I think it's really cool to be able to do what y'all are doing. As far as the CB goes I thought I would give you a heads up. It's not like it used to be out here on the road. People do not help each other as much as they used to. But they still argue for us and fight and beware of the foul language. Because you will definitely hear a lot of that in some cases. I still use mine on occasion mostly if I'm stuck in a traffic jam long enough to figure out what is going on and what lane to be in. But I do not listen to it on the road as much because of what I said above. But enjoy your new truck and whatever else you got up your sleeves. Congratulations

Congratulations .....after looking at the distance from the back of the tractor to the 5th wheel I knew that set up is for semi frames only so I am guessing with the airlines install in the back you got a Spacecraft. Very nice if I am right. We will check it out at the show.

Beautiful rig. I was able to see it once while it was being built. When you arrived in this video and got out of the car I could see my orange Volvo in the back ground. It's there fir them to start on hopefully next week.

Love your new truck! All blacked out! Along with your CB radio should also get a GMRS radio for your truck. Most of the truckers are using GMRS radios now. Itโs like a 50W walky-talky. I use mine a lot on my HDT with my Ham radio setup in the trailer.
