This was 4yrs ago and what Michael said is so relevant. I completely agree with his perspective on the digital & physical aspects of our experience with audio, both the music and the gear. It really sucks that actual audio shops are so scarce now. Finding myself in the middle of trying to build a good quality 2.0 listening system. I have been wanting to audition audio gear like never before and with the close of many shops, it would appear as if I'm forced to demo only BestBuy line up, rely more on others reviews and experiences and from there buy everything just to do a demo..I'm sure degrees of this existed back then too..but it is without doubt more difficult now, with just about everything moving online.
Also!! With this venture to build my stereo system, I have been buying physical copies of albums that I previously bought and owned only digitally. I much enjoy the experience of buying the CD..I miss the excitement of looking through album booklets, credits, reading the thank you's and shout outs from the artist to people and connections you probably would have never otherwise heard of, song lyrics etc. along with the ownership aspect..this all held with it the feeling of being able to dig a little deeper behind the scenes of the music so to speak and somehow heightened appreciation and added a certain wonder to life..all of that!.. is largely missing from digital purchases. There is something about it that's deeply saddening. Maybe the sense of loss? This push for everything digital is leaving a lot to be desired. I've never owned a turn table but I also want one of those too, along with a quality CD player and I have been looking at some (online😒)..rightnow I'm using a Sony portable CD player.
I really enjoyed this interview his professional and personal insights were fascinating, my only complaint would be that I wish it were longer. Like this comment lol.
    Nice vid.

Thank you for sharing the Interview! I recognized the Brand(s) Raidho, Aavik this year (2017) at the Munich Show.It was absolute stunning, how focused the huge D5.1 sounds. Even in the Nearfield. The Time alignement seems to be perfect. The last days I saw a lot of Videos of the raidho Shows and I think they´re on the absolute right way.Instead of adding a dsp and controlling the chassis electronically via built in amplifiers, the´re not fighting the symptoms they´re goint to the cause. The´re really doing research for the industry. Thank you for this work Michael!

Why make a choice? Just have both cd and streaming. Mine are Vinyl and tidal. Perfect.

Lp and CD are things you own. I will never own a streamer. They music is hired that way. We have racks of music we like to look through and it's exciting to lay you title out in readiness for playing. Streaming destroys with to much choice, you own everything on streaming and you play less it's a spoiler. I will have to take an seriously listening session to Raidho, and the cables you sell instead of Nordost monopoly.
