    Very happy to see my fellow Indians actually breaking out the tools and doing the manual labor and building this themselves. So many of the Indians I know shy away from manual labor and projects like this and I am so proud to see you two design and build this yourself. Great job!

    I would cover that whole area with plastic (slopping towards the tub) and a smaller cut out over that tub to help divert ALL water into the tub. Otherwise the water may run out if it doesn't all end up back in the tub.

    I guess you used 2x6” not 2x4” as the board is wider then your hand. Nice work! Going to follow the same but I am going to do some modifications for the water tank by porin concrete around it to protect it from flowers/trees roots. Also I will use pond sheet around the area to dump the splashed water in the tank. Also I will add a connection to empty the tank in winter

    Nice build but I bet by now you're struggling to keep weeds out of it since you put no barrier down. Id suggest digging up the rock and laying a pvc liner down. This will help redirect the water thats splashing beyond your basin back to your basin and block weeds and grass from growing.

    • @st.louismissouri3312
      @st.louismissouri3312 Před rokem +1

      There were MANY mistakes in this video. I can’t begin to name them all. No weed barrier is just the surface. Painting the wood. Leaving wires exposed. Not pre mixing the concrete. Wood buried in cement and touching the ground (rot will happen sooner rather than later)
      Why do you think real handymen don’t look like these folks? They don’t grasp how to do things the right way.

  • @vcbuilder5541
    @vcbuilder5541 Před 3 lety +10

    Looks nice - temporarily
    - bin is not for outside use ( will get brittle and crack) use pond liner
    - wood is interior use only ( although you said it was pressure treated - pressure treated wood has small indentations )
    - holes will clog , for algae will fill ( need to use mildewcide)
    - metal flashing should be used on top of structure or you’ll have dry rot in no time
    - electrical was ran by extension cord , so many things can go wrong with that ( fire - electrocution, or more )
    Nice idea , but improperly executed .

    yes I noticed that when u drill the hole on the top of your water container/than u begin to put the rocks all around / now remember u had to put some kind of screening over the top of the container because u added rocks on top of the water container that u drilled the hole if not pieces of the rock will get in the container and may cause some damage too the pump

    Very creative and cost effective way to build that. It looks amazing! Do you have to refill often due to loss of water? I noticed you didn’t use a liner and your stream seems wider than your basin. Just curious

    • @IMGreg..
      @IMGreg.. Před 3 lety +5

      I thought the exact same thing, the ground around the featured will soak up any over spray/splashing and they'll need to add water more often without a liner.
      Also it's going to be a kid magnet, what kid could resist running through a waterfall on a hot day?
      I would have used a smaller container and spans the plastic lid with a couple of patio stones on top bolstered with a 2x2 horizontally or vertically to take the weight of a kid standing on it, then covered it with the river stones.
      Actually with a liner you don't really need the container either.
