  • After over 3 years the fire pit is still a good piece of kit .only one thing has changed. it gets very warm underneath now. the day camp itself went well even with the 30 mile an hour wind. I still can't get used to the 4x4 DD tarp it's too much space for me. I'm more at home under the army basha or the 3x3 tarp. I really enjoyed the sausage & egg lunch. joy joy another great day out bikepacking

If you used this on your lawn would it burn the grass below? It looks fairly high being 45cm off the ground

No it wont But when it was new you could not feel any heat underneath atoll. After three years it really hot where the legs cross underneath but still no marks on the ground. I hope that was helpful.

@@canoecycle7005 thank you. Are you still using the original mesh or have you replaced it?

@electropad it's still the original mesh that's only because I stopped putting bigger logs on. Don't show off it's just a campfire. Don't try to go big. In the years I've had the FIREPIT, I've only used it just over 30 times .

I'm onto my 2nd firepit now because I lost one of the screws on the first on, and that made it pretty much unusable - on the plus side, I have plenty of spares now lol. I also bought a replacement mesh for mine as it gets quite a lot of use and had split down the middle a bit. They're fantastic bits of kit, I'd not be without one now, but tbh I haven't cooked on mine much. Your set-up looks great, but yeah maybe the tarp was a tad on the large side :)

It's one of my favourite bits of kit the carry bag ripped on mine I use an old tripod carrier. I keep thinking the mesh is going to at anytime so no big logs anymore. As you noticed I've watching some of your old videos especially the lock down ones.
