My mother refused to rescue a 3 year old cat because she wasn't a kitten and had a leaky eye. She stuck around my home for years and eventually when I was forced to move no one was feeding her. I couldn't get back to her for over a year, and when I did she just came running to me. All she needed was space and steady food and her conjunctivitis cleared up almost completely! She will be 9 years old this year 😊 Senior cats are likely to be more work yeah, but even my young and healthy cats can suddenly get ill and rack up 1000+ vet bills overnight. Give older cats a chance, they're far less troublesome than you might think!

Nobody's a cat person untill they meet "the cat". My father met his most favorite creature on the planet at the age of 70. He died 5 years later surrounded by his many fur babies. They protected him till the end. ❤

Funny thing is when we buy cats we do have 1 appearance requirement, that being they need to be darker in color. Black, gray, black calico, tabby pattern, because we live by the woods and we want them to be able to hide easily. Once our old group had passed through the years we rescued 3 dark kittens. A year later a white cat showed up, and now we have 4😅. I will say though there's been a few incidents with strays, and he can't hide like the 3, he has to run or fight.

We found our cat abandoned with her kittens and adopted her and found homes for her babies. I think she still remembers and is a very sweet and intelligent cat.

Cats choose you. I think that's why some people think cats don't like them, bc they don't understand that. Cats aren't interested in most people bc those people aren't "theirs". We pulled over to help him and realized he was stuck there bc his mother had ben run over and he was too scared to leave her body. As soon as I put my hands down for him to sniff, he used my hands like a trampoline and launched himself at my torso. Scrambled as quickly as he could into my shirt and hooked his tiny baby claws into the fabric lol. He didn't let go until we got home
Cats absolutely choose who they want. My brother and SIL’s cat chose me. She always wants my attention, she meows loudly for me, she always wants in my room, she bounds over on top of me first thing in the morning, and she’s so sad when I’m not there. They raised her from a kitten. I just gave her attention every time I was over lol
Old cats are always the sweetest even though they might not be there for long. They have seen also the dark times and want any human to see those dark times. 40% cats go through a harder life than us. They also have illnesses, and they live short so they want to make humans happy knowing we will need it, since we live longer. They know this because they see how slowly out body and body cells grow. They even themselves become happy when we are there for them, or they are for us. They can even sense what emtion you are in right now, like sad, angry, anxious, nervous. They can smell the emotions and they come for us❤️ This is how sweet old (and just any cats) are
I got a 16yr old cat from a shelter, she had been there ages as she was "elderly" . She chose me and I got the most loving cat. Unfortunately she passed on because of cancer. I still miss her & when I can I'll get another older cat as they deserve to have a great life as well as a younger cat. RIP Hetty😻

Cats are by far not the sweetest animals and if you think that you just don't know cats and other animals.. i have 2 cats 1 is super sweet and friendly and 1 is like 50-50 sometimes she wants cuddles and shit and sometimes she just wants to kill all humans. Cats are NOT the sweetest animals lol.

I’m crying 😭. All cats should be treated the same. When I was a few years old my cat died at an old age. She was the best cat ever and I miss her a lot . I’m thinking about getting another cat so I will be more happy but the cat before will always be in my heart ❤️.

Same I love all animals and it doesn’t matter. They’re all young, but you have to treat them how you would like to be treated too. I like every single animal I don’t really like bugs but I mean I like animals and I’m happy that that animal got adopted I have, well I hope you have a good life with that cat❤

When I was a few years old my cat died at an old age. She was the best cat ever and I miss her a lot . I’m thinking about getting another cat so I will be more happy but the cat before will always be in my heart ❤️.

When i adopted my cat milo he was thirteen and when i lost him he was 14. He was very sweet and older cats need homes and even if you only had 1 year to them it was the best 5 years.
