I've been on the hunt for a Rayven for a year now; never found one. But the MA40 that I got today has made me end that search.
Apart from being an active HALO player since 2006, I also find the size and weight as well as the looks comfortable for battle!
I see we agree on the MA40, all this needs is either a janky or actual IM or 3D printed mag release, to make this a true battle and cosplay worthy blaster (in stock form)!

Holy crap people paid $70 US for a Rayvenfire?! They were $40 AUD new in Australia!
My Rayven doesn't fit my 50-round Titan mag, but it's too much bulk to fit under your arm anyway. Also my first blaster is the Rayven so I'll always have bias towards it, but its foregrip is the comfort level all other blasters should aspire to.
This MA40 seems to be the best product placement blaster they've made. Usually you sacrifice practicality for the aesthetic, but not this time.

Omg. For once I have an advantage living in the UK as Smyths toys have brand new Rayvenfires in stock at £30. Going to have to wait a couple of weeks for the MA40 but have my preorder in so looking forward to that.
Thanks for the comparison, I am going to have to go with the Rayven. I am a shorter Nerfer and the Rayven is just the right size for me. Also, the collector side of me wants to finish my Murder of Rayvens. I have the Rayvenfire and the Blue Elite, now its time to hunt for the other two.

The MA40 might be the blaster I take with me to my first like, official type of nerf war, I have a pretty easy time reloading it. Yes, it's more involved than a Stryfe, however, it feels so right. Idk, definitely bringing with me. I may want to mod it to have semi, full, and burst fire :D

I was having trouble with the mag release till I saw Coop's review vid for the Halo blaster, his way of pulling the mag out works very well for me and I can do it without having to tip up the blaster, I can even do a reload while keeping it in ready position quite easy now..I'm getting really good at reloading this very quickly..I'm thinking very heavy about buying a second one before they get STUPID expensive to buy and keeping one in stock and then modding the other for better flywheels and the like once the stuff comes out..cause I'm 90% sure there will be mods for this to at least have better flywheels to deal with the extra faux barrel..I've never been able to get my hands on a Rayven and the ones all on Amazon are STUPIDLY expensive..starting at bare minimum 60 bucks and going into the 100+ range quick..gonna have to go to Ebay for one if I really wanna get one..I don't know exactly how many of them I'd find if I go thrifting but I only know of like...one Goodwill that I know how to get to and I absolutely HATE wasting gas so I'm not the type to drive around to various Goodwill stores for hours on end to try and find something.
the best way i find of changing mags is just slap the button and let the mag drop, then change. if you're in a battle, thats all you have the time for

I love my elderly rayven. Sure I had to get a 3D printed butt plate just to make the stock vaguely usable.
Sure it cuts out sometimes due to the safeties, and is slow to rev up.
... But it's a snazzy little bullpup smg, and once it's got the stock length increased the ergonomics are great.
So now I'm torn. Get some sort of internals kit for the rayven, or pick up the MA40. Lol.

the halo shell is shaped in such a way that it cannot take extra stages of flywheel without cutting into the shell or placing the extra stages far ahead of the first stage and risking more jams. The Rayven shell is better for multi stage flywheel.

I see a lot of complaints about the MA40 and the barrel drag, but realistically I don't really see that as valid. If you take the blaster apart you will see that the barrel is pretty wide. It's so wide in fact that you can drop a standard barrel into it. Just converted mine to full auto and I'm super happy with the results.
It’s a good blaster even I stock form. Modded it’s even better. I’m getting some parts to do the same to mine here soon too.
@@AmericanFoam You can do it if you've got a spare Rapidstrike pusher. Just orient it backwards and have the pusher actually pull it towards the front of the blaster.
I do have an extra RS pusher lying around. Nice.
I don’t nerf or anything but I just bought the halo blaster, I’m a gunsmith so I might have to work some magic and use it as a shell for a firearm

Hey brother. I never saw this video when you 1st released it, and truly, I didn't have a Rayven 9 months ago, now I have at least 3, so I have an opinion based on fact and personal preference, rather than solely based on intuition. The Rayven looks Cool! No doubt about it. But they're far too small to be functional for me, big guy, big frame, not hap'nin. I picked up an MA40 once in the store, I could try it would be more fitting to me. It made me want to buy an Xbox and get the video game. It was that cool to me. I should've gotten it then, cause you cain't get one now. At least, not until WalMart or Target gets another allotment, at least 90days from today if the container boxes holding them were unloaded today. The next time they appear at WalMart or Target, they'll likely be $70../$80.00 retail, just in time for Christmas 2022.! Yeah, naw, I don't think so. Anyways, I'm not a fan of bullpups that drop the magazine from rear of the blaster, when nothing else in the load out does that. Not in my load outs anyway. Though the Rayven's got the best bullpup-mag-release, tactically speaking. I've seen extended mag-releases on Rayvens, but they get hung stuff when choke-in on on the blaster, drop the magazine when need the blaster. I literally had the release get hung on wrinkle of jacket sleeve when extending my arm to fire from cover, and dropped the mag out instead of an making the kill, and had pleasure of costing victory on top of not capturing the flag. There's no good reason to replace the Rayven's mag-release apart from aesthetics. Mr.Scott54, BionicBlasters.😎🤠🤓😇

I release my MA40 mag by titling it to the side, pinching both sides of the release, then slide my hand down to pull it out. Works much better than the awkward thing you were doing (I know bc that's what I used to do too XD)

I wonder what would happen if someone took the MA40 motors and moved them into something like a Stryfe... Something with almost no barrel drag
It's not the motors it's c batteries vs aa in the rayvenfire
Not a electronics nerd by any means here, but both AA’s and C cells have the same voltage at 1.5 volts per cell. Larger size batteries are able to deliver more current for higher need applications so I assume the motors are different than the typical motors nerf uses since the MA40 motors aren’t being over volted. I’m going to to do the mod guide here soon so I can confirm then. But I’m definitely interested to see.

Yeah accustrike is amazing. It’s nothing like elite 2.0. The only clips are in the usual spots with the color separated pieces. Pretty easy to get into.
Year late for sure but I find the easiest way to reload is to cup your hand around the rear bottom of mag, thumb on the gripping lines. Next, using your middle finger, push the release button, grip the mag and slide it on out.

You need to compare the new Nerf offerings VS the new adventure Force offerings. From what I have seen, I wouldn’t even consider a Nerf purchase and just spend my money on Adventure Force blasters. Just my opinion. I even took the Nerf blasters off of Ollie’s list and replaced them with Adventure Force options. Even though I have the Prometheus, I don’t see us buying another Nerf branded blaster for a while.

I was thinking of getting a rayven instead of the ma40 so I can make a halo 5 version without having to mod the shell so much, but the ma40 has better firing specs, tho the handle seems too small

I think it does fit but it was really hard to reach to get it out since the one it comes with is longer.
