    Why is the cost so huge? Surely the teeth and screws can't cost that much to manufacture. Are we in fact paying most of the money to the dentist or dental practice? Likewise the general anaesthetic why does that cost $6500 to $8500? Even most of that expense I'm guessing goes to the dental practice as opposed to the cost of the medicine(s) used.

      You've raised an important question. The affordability of dental services is a huge problem in Australia. The costs of providing quality dental services are exuberant, similar to the cost of housing and general living costs. There are many professionals on the team who need to be paid. Tens of professionals are involved in different stages of this intricate and highly technical treatment. The costs are significantly lower than many surgical procedures or making other prosthetic body parts. Sadly, there are no subsidies for dental treatments, so self-financing it is difficult for many
