  • A "Gotcha Day" is the day that we celebrate when our daughters adoption became finalized. Micah is our oldest who God blessed us with through the beautiful gift of adoption. I feel absolutely like the luckiest woman in the world to have been chosen to be her Mommy. She is my world. She is my heart. She is my Micah. xox

I have heard no greater testament to the joy that can be obtained from adoption than when Jada said she was glad the previous 7 years had brought no pregnancies (or then she would never have known Micah). WoW, such a power-filled statement.

Okay that totally messed me up. As a birth mom I could never have put someone through what Micah's birth mom did. There is never a day that I don't think about my son and it was really devastating in the beginning when I constantly second guessed my decision. What was always in my mind also was that I gave him up for a reason. That a higher power let me get pregnant at a time where I was unstable and unable to care for a child because someone else needed him in their life. He never really felt like he was meant for me.
As a birth mother I am sorry you went through that. As a birth mother I am relieved it wasn't longlasting even though those 24 hours probably felt like years to you. As a birth mother I thank you for adopting that beautiful girl.
This story will truly stay with me forever. Bless you and your family❤

What an absolutely gut-wrenching story! You may not have carried her in your body, but you carried her in your heart and that is what brought her back to you. There is NOTHING stronger than a mother's love for her child and a mother and father are not always defined by blood. God knows our heart and always what is best. He also knew that being in your family would serve the best needs of that child. There are NO mistakes by God. He brought her into this world to serve your desire to be a mother. And now you can serve Him, by sharing your story and raising her to serve Him as well. Wishing all of you and abundance of God's beautiful blessings.

  • @mostlyvoid.partiallystars

With respect... how can the same god be called all powerful and yet the implication be that had there not been leagues of others praying for this child to torture the birth mother, that she'd not have come back? Is not the sign of faithful servants to surrender to your god's path? The cognitive dissonance is just too much. Adoption is amazing and wonderful, but the laws protect birth mothers for good reason - the more christlike response would have been to offer compassion and love to her. I just don't know what to even think about this video. I am happy for Micah that she is happy and healthy.

Brooke Bello, am sorry if my comments were harsh or bad, I am a mother of three, I have a sister that never had children, but those words from her friends and families were harsh to. We don't know what is inside that birth mothers heart, when your pregnant you bond with a child, so for her to vent after giving birth it's reasonable, she needed time, and prayers to change, rather than such horrible words, send her a child naked, that's the child you wanted to be your, the child you never conceived, a child that was not in your belly for 9month, morning sickness, and all that pregnant women went thru. She was treated hardly because she changed her mind, because she's poor, you cannot buy a life with money

am sorry what you went thru, but ma question that I always ask myself, and people that adopt do you ever think about, the mother who made the child, the choice made by her within a moments of her fears, and the pain they go through, you even gave her her child with no cloth, when you were celebrated after that babyshower birth with ya family and friends did you ever think about that woman who gave you that child, what she might have been going thru? easy come, b4 30days you even prayed her all the curses, it's was a bad situation 4 both you guys and her to, I wish.you behaved different, remember the child.is always a 4th party where, they don't have to have a choice, sometimes some cases shows us how we as human beings are selfish, they try to find their real parents, some find them some don't. I wish if we.can allow both mothers or father's to be in this child's life for a short years, or even both fathers, so that the real mother has time to heal and know she made the right choice, as well as when this child grows never have feelings that those that made him and and kept him/her rather than aborting loved theme so much to gave them to the right parents at that moment. but no we are humans and selfish.

Jada never said they prayed that Micah would be bad for her. Other people sent her e-mails that said they prayed for that. As for the clothing... obviously Micah had clothes on at the drop off but why should they pack a bag for her if her birth mother felt like she could take care of her? The gifts from the baby shower were given to the Black Family for Micah.
I am pretty sure that all adoptive moms realize how hard it is for a birth mother to give up a child since they have gone through infertility or miscarriages or stillbirths. I don't think that they take what the birth mother is feel lightly

Juliet Katakanya. You do know there is such a thing as an open adoption, don't you? Thats where the biological parents are part of the childs life! Don't be too hard on the adoptive mother because her attorney gave her bad advice! But pray that the child has a wonderful life with parents that love her! God bless!

This is an absolutely beautiful story. I cried and boohoo'd. And this seemed so bitter sweet that she had to be a "holy terror." But God takes us through hard times to get us to be where we need to be, even the little babies.
This is completely off topic, and ignore me if this seems tacky asking this here, but where did you find your bedding and pillows? They are amazing and exactly what I have been looking for.

Alexandria Beasley when you are older, search your birth parents last names, and place of births, you can do this on a family tree website, if you know their last names.. you can always contact the adoption agency you came from and ask them who they are once you turn 18.. I wish the best for you, and I pray warmth love and light to you 💛

I have never commented on one of these videos before, but I am trying hard to understand what this was posted for. As an adoptee AND adoptive mother, I found it profoundly disturbing. To anyone who may watch this who is thinking about placing a child for adoption, please know we are not all like this. To send her off without even a blanket because a lawyer told you to? What kind of mother would do that? And the total lack of any compassion for the birth mother - who, by the way, is the source of many of the qualities you find so endearing about your daughter - how very sad and small. I am sorry I saw this. There are so many positive adoption stories out there - this is not one of them.

    • @user-wh9ct8tm5l
      @user-wh9ct8tm5l  Před 8 lety +5

@Barbara I'm sorry that you feel this isn't a positive adoption story. This is what happens when somebody is raw and puts their story out there, always going to be somebody that doesn't agree, etc. I'm fine with that, but just know that I didn't put all the story out there. There are things I chose to now say about the birth mom and some of what she did to us because she was in an unthinkable situation. You don't know what you would have done until you walked in our shoes. I pray that on nobody. You mentioned that you are trying to understand what this video was posted for. Let me tell you. The most obvious reason is because its a testimony of the power of prayer. and I'm not referring to people praying she would be a "holy terror" , we didn't ask that. We wanted our daughter to be where God intended her to be for HIs glory. I remember praying, "God, maybe she'll be the one that tells her birth mom about you and your love and their life will be forever changed." that was my heart as much as it hurt to pray that. But God ended up giving us the desires of our heart just like He says he will in His word. We are forever grateful to our birth mom. Always and forever. God Bless

Somebody can be 'raw' 'put their story out there' and still have compassion. Praying for the child to be 'a holy terror' so the birth mom will have a terrible time is purely selfish, and hasn't got anything to do with the well being of the child. If you wanted to pray, you should have prayed that your child be happy with her birth mom, and not that she suffer until she meets you again.
I hope you will show more compassion for Micah as she grows and when she differs from your beliefs and does things you don't agree with. Please, please love her unconditionally and please never wish badly on her again.

I completely agree. The lack of compassion for the birth mother is astounding. It doesn't matter how many previous pregnancies the woman had or how many children she had given up, she still had a right to parent the child if she wanted to.

As much as I understand the reaction of your family and friends (they love you, after all, and want to support you), it strikes me as really mean to roll up in a huge mob for turning Micah over to her biological mother. It's hard for the baby, it's hard for the biological mother, and it's hard for the prospective adoptive parents; that doesn't need an audience.
And wishing and praying that she would be a "holy terror"? In order to be that, she would have had to be terrified and miserable; that's nothing to pray for. It sounds really unloving. I'm sure it wasn't meant that way, but it's really disturbing to hear.
Also, I wouldn't credit any gods with you getting to adopt Micah. Your attorney told you to send Micah with nothing precisely to make it harder on the biological mother. Even though she might still have struggled and decided against parenting, it was consciously setting her up for failure. If she had had proper support, she might have made a great parent.
It goes to show, for me, that the US desperately needs better mental health services and better support for parents so that they can have everything that they need. No child should have to suffer for even a single night just because an attorney wants their paycheck.

I was also very disturbed at this mob mentality. We don't know the birth mother's life story and the circumstances that led to her having to relinquish her child/children. Praying for a child of God to be a 'holy terror' is very unchristian in my mind.
