    To run The Golf Club 2019 you need a high spec laptop or gaming PC. These are expensive to buy ready made from a store or online, therefore i decided to build my own gaming PC and it turned out to be super easy and much cheaper! Check out which graphics card and processor i used to run TGC 2019 on ultra high settings!

    Hello! My name is Mitch and I am relatively new to the golf game! I began as a 25 handicap golfer a little over 2 years ago and have managed to work my way down to my current handicap of 9! My goal is to make it to at least a single-figure handicap as soon as possible and possibly even lower!
    My latest investment has been a SkyTrak golf simulator and launch monitor, so that i can improve my golf game at home and especially indoors during the winter months. On my channel you will find some helpful tips and tricks related to SkyTrak, as well as monitoring my progress out on the golf course. I will upload how to videos, comparison videos and also some all important course vlogs!
    I hope you enjoy the content and I especially hope that you find some helpful information from my experiences along the way!

    Great video. Always wondered how the AMD Ryzen's performed. The Ryzen's typically track the Intel processors by the number (i3...Ryzen 3, i5...Ryzen 5). The key component is the GPU and making sure you have a PSU (Power Supply Unit) to support that baby because it takes a bunch of power. For US buyers, you can also try and get used DELL i5 computers on ebay or craig's list and refit them with a new PSU and graphics card to really get the cost down. Just be sure you have sufficient space inside the case to allow for the graphics card to fit. Some cases come in SSF (small form factor) and won't accomodate a good graphics card.

It sounds way harder to do than it actually is. As long as you get the appropriate compatible parts, you should have no issues. Great work, and glad to see your golf simulator room upgrades as you do them. keep up the great vids

    I’m hoping to get a decent card at 3080 to ensure I can run GSPRO.
    Now that you’ve been playing w GSPro on sky track (loved that video too) - are you using that with this computer? Are you running on ultra? Any thoughts or recommendations?

I haven’t tried reducing the graphics to high/very high yet to see if it makes any difference in terms of smoothness. But I played my first round the other night and it worked great on ultra. If you get a 3080 I don’t think you’ll have anything to worry about 👍🏼

    Glad it worked, despite a lot of missed considerations like USB ports, Bluetooth connections, Ethernet connections, WiFi compatibilities, Windows 10 version, keyboard and mouse connections, HDMI ports, sound cards, temperature control, ventilation, dust filters, display connections, electrostatic discharge during build process. Seems like a beginner just hit a 170 yd hole in one.
    What are your thoughts on part guarantees and technical support if something does not work?
    You definitely covered most issues in your initial considerations, and it did work when you switched it on. So well played.

      @hcpgolf  Před 3 lety

    • @ianburton9223

      @@hcpgolf That was only the basic external stuff. When you think that teams of experts from Asus, Lenovo, HP and Dell take six months to design and test a PC before moving to manufacturing, one has to ask why would anyone think it's OK to use a couple of web sites to build a PC in two weeks? Clearly it can be done - and has been done by many people, and you have successfully covered a lot of the basic issues.
      But you did find that one of the HDMI ports did not work on the motherboard. Might there be other issues? And who will help you address those issues if they become critical.
      A DIY computer is a high risk project. that will leave a lot of perplexity if something does not work as expected in the launch monitor, PC, software, projector chain.
      I've worked in PCs since 1977 and I would definitely not try a DIY computer project.

      Hi Neil, thanks for the comment. This graphics card is what I still use now for playing GSPro. It works fine on ‘high’ settings and I get a decent frame rate. • @hcpgolf
      @hcpgolf  Před 3 lety

      Yes absolutely, whatever works better for your setup. The only benefit of a desktop is that you can upgrade parts in the future rather than having to upgrade a whole laptop. Apart from that then theres no real difference!

    • @deanmarshall3577
      @deanmarshall3577 Před 3 lety +1

      Since you built your pc do you wish you had included anything else, extra outputs or different spec? what virus protection do you use?

    • @hcpgolf
      @hcpgolf  Před 3 lety

      Maybe just an extra HDMI output because I didnt realise the HDMI that is built into the motherboard doesnt actually work. So I only have 1 working HDMI but it doesn't matter because I use a different output on the graphics card, would just be for convenience thats all.

    • @ianburton9223
      @ianburton9223 Před 3 lety

      I would most definitely avoid building a DIY laptop. Major laptop issue is dissipation of heat through well designed ventilation paths. It may be possible to find a pre-designed laptop in kit form, but you cannot build a laptop to Mitch's PC specifications. All the components are for big cases, you'd have to start the component selection from scratch.

      Yes, the cpu fan it comes with is more than adequate for running this type of build.. you can also purchase case fans for really cheap if you want more ventilation in the case. You can get fancy and get rgb ones (with the lights) but it's more for show or looks than anything. Adding an additional fan or two will keep the flow of air moving and the inside of the case cool

  • @dc48664
    @dc48664 Před 3 lety +1

    This computer is fine for 1080p, but this is not for 4k builds. The recommended 3.2 GHz is not the whole story, you need to take the threads, cache, and cores into consideration. The Ryzen 5 2600 is a perfect cpu for a 1080p build. The video cards you discussed are 1080p cards. Even the recommended cards for 4k GTX 1080 would struggle at 4K. Running ultra settings on 1080p can't be compared to running 1440p.
    I build computers and deal with components. I am sorry, but this is bad advice for people if they plan on building a 4k gaming computer. Absolute minimum if going with a Ryzen build I would recommend a Ryzen 5 3600x with a RTX 2080 Ti. The system above is perfect for 1080p only.
