I first met Shi Ming in 1988 and watched his demos. He asked me to stop my other training and study with him exclusively. I declined the offer but brought one of my advanced students to meet him on a return trip in 1993

@@Bluedragon-co4kb yes. Wang Yongquan was a disciple of Yang Chengfu, however his father was the butler and training partner of a prince who hired Yang Jianhou to teach him the two of them, as Wang Yongquan’s father (the butler) was to be his training partner. Wang Yongquan had the opportunity to train under Yang Jianhou as well for a bit asa child until Jianhou’s death he was 12 or 13. He also trained some under his father and trained under Yang Shaohou and was often Shaohou’s go-to when he wanted to demonstrate something. He also of course trained with Yang Chengfu, but a lot of people in the lineage believe his ability came from Shaohou. In any case, his senior student was Zhu Huaiyuan. Shi Ming was Zhu’s student but as the story goes, he realized after training for a while that Zhu was withholding info from his students and after a while was sick of it so he went to Zhu’s master Wang Yongquan. The story goes that Wang Yongquan liked Shi Ming but didn’t want to undermine his senior student by telling him, so when Wang Yongquan said he couldn’t tell him and Shi Ming was leaving Wang Yongquan got up and went to the door. Shi Ming held out his arms telling him he didn’t need to bother with getting up (a cultural sign of respect) and when he did, Wang sent him flying out the door. When he did this he generated force in a way so that the missing mechanic he wasn’t shown would be apparent. After feeling this, Shi Ming went home and practiced it and got it down. When he showed up at training and was sending people like there was no tomorrow, Zhu caught on and expelled him. Shi had previously done an obscure style of Tongbei called Ruyi tongbei before doing taichi, and changed his lineages name to that. However, I know one of his top students does not call it that and there are others that feel the same way and they call it the Shi Ming lineage of the Wang Yongquan school.

I thought to translate this.... This is the use of divine force. As long as the opponent has energy and airs of energy, the energy connected to him will be affected by his internal force, middle section, internal force and external divine force. However, the opponent is connected but not connected, or disconnected from him. Can't play anymore. Of course he can also hit him with Yanghua Jin. To deal with this kind of master, you must flicker in and out, dodge left and right, advance and retreat, punch with your heart, relax your whole body, and exchange yin and yang energy. Only then can you hope to defeat this kind of yin energy and external force.
