I often wonder how many individuals are locked up due to being falsely blamed for foul play in the case of missing persons. I can't imagine how helpless I'd feel if I had nothing to do with a person going missing yet I was being blamed.

A little advice I can give you guys to avoid being a missing 411 victim and tell people this also, because you can save a life by doing so. Be in group and never let your sight go of your group members and carry a weapon, gun preferably but a big knife and pepperspray if you can't get a gun, food and water plus a flaahlight. Make sure you pray for protection when going out in the woods. You ABSOLUTELY NEED to have your guard up when walking, stay on the lookout. Be like a rabbit or a bird, take a couple of steps , then stop for a moment and look around, use your hearing. Keep going and repeat. Animals do this behavior so they won't get ambushed and I strongly recommend you do it also. If you find yourself in a situation , where the forest gets Completely silent or you feel like your in danger or being watched, you Slowly back pedal your self out of that area. Get out of that area immediately. If your asking why I'm mentioned this part, it's because I've had a few weird experiences and others that experienced the same have given me this advice. Stay blessed y'all and have a good day or night.

I have 4 sons that are all grown up now. My husband & I watched them like hawk's. When I was raising them I NEVER would have left them alone in the car, EVER bcuz I had something called COMMON SENSE & a very deep love for my son's. I can not judge other people that leave their children in the car bc my own MOTHER used to leave me & my 2 younger brothers in the car sometimes while running a quick errand during daylight hours. I HATED when she did this, would beg her not to do it bc I was the eldest & my brothers were hyper & would get bored fast. I'd say the longest our Mom left us would be 15 minutes at the longest but it felt like an hour when I was younger! Our Father would NEVER DO THIS & he would kindly scold our Mom when I'd let Dad know she did that to me. Even at the young age of 9 years old, I knew it was not safe! I know that's the reason I never ever would leave our 4 sons in the car. I'm originally from a rural town back east called Toronto, Ohio where people would leave their car keys in their vehicles all the time. I thought that was a bad decision too & I was only around 5-7 years old when I had these type of opinions. Also, we moved to Orange County, CA when I was 7 years old & Mom started leaving us in the car when I was in the 4th grade (I was 9 years old). Luckily my brothers & I never had anything bad happen while we waited in our car for our Mom but I told this boring story for 1 reason only, parents just know this, NEVER EVER TAKE CHANCES WITH YOUR CHILDRENS LIVES! DON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE WITH BABYSITTERS WHETHER YOU KNOW THEM OR NOT UNLESS YOU HAVE CAMERAS. Have a relationship & communicate with your children to make them feel like they can come to you & talk about ANYTHING IN THEIR LIFE. We live in very uncertain times when you can't trust just anyone. Be wise. Remember your children only have 1 life & your responsible for their precious life. God Bless Families ALL Over the World! Thank you Dave Paulides for doing everything you've done to try to save lives. You Sir, are a Saint & when your time comes, You WILL be an Angel, in Heaven, one of God's & Jesus's helpers to keep on saving children!

    • @Doxymeister
      @Doxymeister Před 4 lety +19

@@MinkesMom Yeah, it's not a problem until...it is. I grew up on a small acreage about 10 miles from the nearest town with a school. Our area had a few families scattered along the roads, we considered our "neighborhood", and everybody knew everybody, we even still had party-line telephone. If there was a problem, the men in the neighborhood dealt with it. It was so safe that us kids played in the woods all the time, basically until dark and Mom made us come in. This was back in the 50's and 60's. That was until a girl was abducted from a home about four miles from us, I think I was about 13 or 14 then. They combed that area, all the men and tons of law enforcement. The girl was eventually found, she had been kidnapped and unfortunately had been beaten and raped. That was rough even for the neighbors, as it had been the safest place you could possibly raise a child. After that, people kept much closer tabs on their kids. Sometimes I totally "get" being a helicopter mom. There's nothing wrong with trying to protect your children if the threat is real.

I can't remember which channel I watched the video, but it doesn't matter now, the kids were playing in the yard, the father noticed that his 12-year-old daughter was standing in the corner of the yard and was not moving, he approached her and realized that the girl had stiffened from fear, she was looking in the direction of the tree, at her father's question, what's going on, she said don't you see him behind the tree? It's dark. The father ran for the rifle, eventually dragging the girl into the house, as if she had awakened from some dream. These disappearances are the responsibility of some "unknown force" (aliens or beings from other dimensions).

The two stories that you shared on this video, like many others, just leave me speechless. Absolutely mind blowing! Even that the child got out of the car, let alone traveled miles upon miles in a snow storm. This defies all logic. Not possible. What do children do when they wake up and their parents are not around? Sit for a awhile then cry. They cry until they get a response from their parents. Instinct. They do it from the time they are born. They do not have to exit the vehicle and seek their parents. This is not what the do. The loss of the father that took his life in order to cope with his loss is heart wrenching. Thank you for your work Mr. Paulides.

I can remember from being about 6 months old. And I've proven this to my parent before (it shocked my Dad) by describing the place we lived in and there is no pictures of, in great detail. My brother who is 3 years younger than me at 2 years old got out of his car seat and started my Dad's 1971 Nova and was able to get it into gear. My Dad was up the driveway talking with a friend on the steps of his house. He took to running as we started out the drive. My Dad yelled at me to hit the brakes. I jumped on the floor and tried to stop the car just as my Dad caught up. We stopped it. But if my brother could get out of his seat so easily as I saw many many times and get that classic car into gear I know the car doors of today are no issues for a toddler.

    2. Law enforcement persons and others searching for missing person
    3. When person is found, or within a certain timeframe (say 1 week), drones will be removed from the park

I understand your thoughts. I do. But I grew up in a different era and a rural area. People not only left their doors unlocked; they went unmolested by intruders and just... did... not... disappear into thin air. When you could see a vehicle coming for miles, there were no predatory animals and nowhere reasonable for some pervert to hide, you didn't think about your kid disappearing from the vehicle just outside (like another room in the house) like today in most places. Now, after all the events and information, I get you. I wouldn't do it now. But good people are constantly getting self-righteously disparaged for doing
*somewhat* reasonable things modern, urban people don't really have any right to (mis-)judge because they don't really know anything about other places and the environments that have existed in the past.
When Mr. Paulides suspects a man has made bad enough decisions and/or done bad enough deeds that he may have lost substantial respect for him, he tends to refer to him with words like "maybe not such a great guy". You don't see him saying that here because, despite the fact it's obvious it's not the best idea to leave a kid in a car under most circumstances, Mr. P is a well-rounded person in his comprehension of other environments and ways of life (and it's crappy to rub a mourning parent's nose in it unless you're 100% sure one is truly not a great guy or gal).

David has said a bunch of times that it is tricky to interview the victims or family, for fear they will feel re-victimized. Often they have already been dismissed by authority, so another interview with a stranger (we LOVE David, but these folks maybe never heard of him) might trigger more pain for people we truly are trying to help.

I've had friends tell me " oh just for a few minutes" and "he'll be okay" or that I worry too much and need to lighten up a little bit etc .
I was almost abducted as a kid when I was in 1st grade by a group of men who all looked similar and had military haircuts and a black windowless van . It's not something you just forget about .

David, Thank you for sharing this heart-breaking story. I can see that it was hard for you, as well as it was for me to hear. I need to mention a factor that (could be a part)of this story, that has not been considered. It is something that I have had all my life and so did my mother and a few other family members. It is referred to as a photographic memory and would be hard to detect in a three year old child, except from only the most observant parent perhaps. One such family member of mine that had pm was not yet ten months old, watched his father take apart his rifle and clean it, then put it back together and return it to it's carrying case ready for deer season. Being in a hurry, he simply slid the case under the bed as his son watched, as dinner was on the table. A little later they found the son with the rifle and saw that he had dissembled it and was putting it back together correctly. Photographic memory? Could it have been a factor in the children being able to go through all the motions it took to get out of the car? It doesn't explain it all, that's for sure, but I hope it will help with some of your past, as well as your future cases. I respond only with Respect for you, your work and the lost or missing lives.

Gage's case was so utterly tragic. A lack of judgement yes, but still very strange. I have some questions that I can't find from newspaper reports:
    1) assume the police took finger prints of the belt buckle and door handles?
    2) was anything taken from the car? Did it look like Gage had been 'rummaging' around in the car after he got out of the carseat. He would have had to have climbed through from the backseat.
    3) was the car seat still in good working order? If Gage was one of 5 kids ( sounding like the youngest) it could have been an old carseat passed down from one sibling to another...was the buckle on seat definitely child proof and not an old and worn buckle?
    4) Gage was wearing pyjamas so did Paul pack a change of clothes for him to walk around the forest with his dad?
    5) could it have been James' dog that made the tracks around the body whilst James was asleep. Did the dog pick up the scent of the rescue dogs rather than poor Gage?
