Unfortunately, one only hears them on occasion, in restaurants and cafes. Anyone wanting to experience the sheer wonder of hundreds of voices singing melismatically (embellishments like fine needle point) at once, must make it a point to attend a Mass in Ge'ez: I had the sheer joy and honor of this at a local church one Easter (candle lit vigil service, packed church), and it was magical. It's truly a memorable experience (like all contact with this culture, even in small ways).
@Meliflucius Thank you for sharing your experience, I know how sweet it is once you are touched in it specially the Geez one. unfortunately we are struggling to keep that culture; besides our carelessness we have faced many enemies of our good cultures in many directions. We need to establish good institutes and organizations to survive what remains.
