Your brain is begging you for a new strategy game to flex your frontal cortex. Your wallet is not-so-politely reminding you that you're on a budget. Good thing your mind just hit pay dirt with Modus so you can get three brain-boosting games in one value-packed box. Modus has 24 tiles that form different game boards and 16 blue or white playing pieces. The board can change during game play and the pieces can function differently depending on whether the top or bottom is showing up. Master all three games and then give your frugal and brainy self a much-deserved pat on the back.
    Brain Health Expert Says:
"Modus is a game of strategy that exercises your frontal lobe, which is involved in planning and decision making. You'll improve your critical thinking and logic skills as you plan subsequent moves"

I did like his explanation. The only detractor is the hand movements.

Ideally, the distinction between a piece with the circular markings up or down could be much more visual. For example, the underside of the piece could be a different color. This way it would be _much_ clearer which state each piece was in.
Also, the size of the board and pieces, ideally, should be a bit larger. Can you imagine if a tournament chess game had to be played on a board this size? Ouch!

Agree, and hollows would help those pieces sit centre.

I recently made a set of this game from scrap and opted for a screw in the wider end. It balanced the weight and also made the "circle" side so much clearer

Up and Away, as yuo describe it, *****, worldismarble , can not be won, unless, by "ther pieces" yuo are referring to something on the board that was not shown or discussed. Are yuo able to provide a way to win without being out numbered one-to-more than one at the end? The last circular side up piece that jumps, does not get beamed "up and away," does it? Am I not right in stating that there is always one piece left over for the victor who has removed all but one piece at the end of the game?

I think the game could be more exciting if a piece with a ring (that is turned over) or a regular one jumps over an opponents piece that is 'promoted' then two things happen:
    1. The regular piece gets turned over and exposes the ring while the others player's piece gets downgraded and flipped back to a normal one so he or she have to start all over again.
or 2. A ringed piece jumps over the other player's ringed piece. His stays the same while the opponents gets downgraded again.
    Just a personal suggestion.

Games like these and board games can have additional rules depending on the players. If this is how you want to play it, then you can add it to the rule. It's not just about rules and winning, it's also about having fun so if you think it will make the game more fun and exciting, you have the freedom to do so
