I was lucky enough to see this lovely lady and set/tour in Basingstoke and will always remember the guitarist in the background as he left an impression on me, and balanced the whole thing beautifully.

I can still quote the lyrics by heart, they made such an impression I bought Suzannes first album. That album stays with me, it will never grow old. Nor will Suzanne ever get old.

I discovered Suzanne Vega in 1992 when "In Liverpool" came out, and been in love with her songs ever since. 80's and 90's gave us an amazing windfall of super talented performers and singers-songwriters such as Suzanne, Edie Brickell, Natalie Merchant, Lisa Loeb (I'm sure I'm missing a few).
In the 80"s i had the biggest crush on Suzanne not only because of her talent but because of her voice and how it fit her pretty face also. So many years later and i still find all of it still attractive to watch and listen too.

I worked as a busser and barback at a restaurant that had live music outside on summer weekends, and since I know how to run sound, made some extra bucks from the boss on music days setting it all up. My dear beloved blessed eternal badass Angel/Candlekin. I remember when I wrote this before I'd ever heard of 'On My Own' which you had covered way back in the 70s in Austin. I'd never heard of it until I heard you do it around 2007 so I looked up the lyrics and realized you had left out the verse about someone being the "broken part of a living fairytale" and it seems so synchronistic now. I never heard anything about why you left that verse out. Anyway, my use of the term 'broken fairytale' is similar to the idea in 'On My Own' but totally separate. Just another interesting point of synchronicity along the way. I love you forever. Peace

I was at your show in MA that time and was drunk and said that stupid shit about c major a minor. I’m so sorry Suzanne. I did get to touch your hand as you left though and I’m grateful for that. I’m sorry I could not have met your eyes with the reverence you deserve 100 fold. I hope you can forgive me for that. I’m clean, sober and off cigarettes 25 months now. God bless you forever Suzanne Vega. I’m gonna dig out a poem I wrote for SC years ago as I began to realize that she is my Queen and I am a soldier with far too many questions. It has been wonderful to have been touched by the music of all of you from the Jack Hardy school and a quadruple honor and privilege to have met and sung with him in Texas in 2008. I was sober then thank God!!! This song just tears me apart. Peace

no.... its avant garde - like artistic dissonance .. once she starts playing its in tune. i think shes intentionally wiffing that one highest note in the 4 note quiet part.. its such a musty and mysterious note progression
