- Testing continues on the WORLDS FIRST prototype cantilever suspension for this crazy 6x6 Unimog, the amazing 1/10th scale Cross RC Emo NT6.
The NT6 is an amazing looking vehicle but it lacked in the ability department… that’s where my buddy Gavin comes in! Gavin has designed and manufactured a bespoke cantilever setup for his own Traxxas TRX6 and after seeing it and giving it a little test run, my mind was made up…. I had to have this setup for my NT6!!
After much persuasion, Gavin finally gave in and proceeded to design and manufacture a whole new setup for the Cross RC (because annoyingly the TRX design wont fit the NT6)
A few test days and videos later, here we are with a totally transformed vehicle, quite possibly the most capable 1/10th scale rc crawler in the world!!
Word soon spread about this bespoke setup and I have had quite a few comments and emails sent to me asking where this kit can be bought..
Gavin has asked for a list of names that would like to purchase this very limited kit (if not enough interest, there’s no point assembling all the parts to complete the kits)

Seeing your NT6, with the Cantilever, makes me want it...but only if I can get the Cantilever for it.

No doubt about it, the TRX6 is the benchmark for 6x6 vehicles, but I’m a sucker for the underdog 😃
@@TimsRcsurgery well, some small bias as I have a TRX-6 that I could cantilever today, and still have no Cross in my fleet.
@CrawlerCanyon takes a bit of work to get the NT6 to perform, but easily done within the same budget as a TRX6, just nice to have a choice, found your channel last week on recommendation from someone in the Cross RC group, great content 😃👍

Trx6 set up for me please. Love the fuel tanks. If you have ridiculous torque twist check your relationship between your panhard link and steering link.
It's not a chisel you need, it's a highly modified TRX6 😉😂

Nt6, interested but depending on price point
Well these won’t be mass produced in china, they will be made in a machine shop in the UK, if nobody wants to pay the man for his efforts then he won’t waste his time making them, but we are still figuring things out and will put a price together before production 👍😃

6x6s have a opportunity to have opposing torque twist effect on the two rear axles. Does the NT6 have that or do they both twist in the same direction?
These both twist in the same direction, torque twist is definitely a thing with this rig, my quick fix was to fit a heavier spring on the front left, not ideal but it’s all I could think to do with what I had available
@@TimsRcsurgery Thats a pity they didnt reverse the sixth axle. For your crossrc, you could modify your suspension to a see saw layout with a single shared shock absorber. This would allow you to have high roll stiffness (to resist torque twist) and very low axle to axle stiffness. Perhaps your friend could reconfigure your suspension to achieve this.
Would you at least consider selling the cad/STL for people to 3d print a set?

@@rdrc4586 you might need to play with spring rates and oil, I can’t really comment as we’ve not tried it on one, you’re seeing the results of our tests within a day or 2 of us. Do you use the hauler to “haul”?
I'm intrested, do you have it also for the NT4?
These are for rear axles only, you would only need 1/2 a set and I’m sure they will fit, you might have to drill a hole in the chassis rail (I had to with the NT6)
Just be aware that it will be a lot less stable (body roll) if you run with the bed and canopy fitted

It was designed and manufactured by a friend of mine, there is no kit yet, still undecided if it’s worth the effort at the moment.
