- The Battle has begun! In this My Hero Academia Chapter 224 Review, we examine the League of Villains confronting the Liberation Army in Deika city. Through various scenes in this chapter of the Boku no Hero Academia manga, we see Twice's character care for his friends, we see Shigaraki make a plan for not only saving Giran, but also taming Gigantomachia while crushing the Liberation Army, as well as meet two leaders in Re-Destro's Liberation movement. The real question is, what new quirks will be involved, and will the League of Villains save Giran!?

@@TruthHero Also, I think Twice could be a big help in this battle, like more than anyone else realizes. They still have more than an hour before Gigantomachia wakes up to then proceed on going after Shigaraki, so until that happens, they have to fight their way through God knows how many soldiers in the city to reach the tower. We know that Twice can use his quirk on himself and his clones are able to use the Quirk on themselves as well, pretty much allowing his quirk to to be used an infinite amount of times (theoretically), but refuses to do so because of his past experiences that lead to his insanity. But seeing how Twice cares about his friends and comrades, and wanting to save Giran, the guy who helped find a group he could fit in with, this could lead to Twice finding a new resolve within himself, a resolve that'll give him the courage to use his Quirk on himself again so he can create clones of himself, and then have his clones duplicate not only themselves, but also the rest of the league, and then proceed to clone those clones, and so on. This would allow the League to somewhat even odds against the superior numbers of the Liberation army present in the city, leading to a even larger scale battle, and cause confusion among the Liberation soldiers and Leaders, as they try to find which among the mass and sudden army of clones are the real deals, which the Leage could take advantage of to then proceed to the tower and catch the enemy waiting there by surprise (If LOV become aware of the surveillance that is) This of course may not happen now (A high chance that it may not happen at all), but perhaps sometime later in the battle, halfway maybe, in a moment when it seems it seems the battle may be hopeless for the League, then that I think would be a good time for Twice to shine.
Oh I'd love if Twice sacrificed his sanity in the moment for his friends. I think he could also make clones of Shigaraki and other members of the LOV, although ReDestro probably knows their quirks and is expecting this

@@TruthHero That may be most likely, but I don't think he's aware of Gigantomachia, or at least what he's capable of. Another thing I like to point out, the surveillance cameras across the city, you said that they're possibly using those to broadcast the whole fight live for the underworld to see, and while I like that idea, I think the MLA is recording the fight for another reason. Haven't you found it odd that the soldiers of the MLA appear like normal civilians? Why do you think that is? Shouldn't these "soldiers," but at least remotely armed with support gear, firearms, or at least some tactical armor, against this small yet dangerous group of people? I'm sure the leaders are more than capable of affording all that, but then I came to the conclusion that the reason the "soldiers" appear like civilians (aside from the fact the majority in city support the cause), is because as the surveillance cameras record the fight across the city, ReDestro plans on having this footage (with additional editing to make it appear authentic) broadcasted to the public, via anonymously, perhaps to a news network that they have connections with, seeing how rich these villains are, I wouldn't be surprised. They plan on using the recorded battle in the city as a form of subtle propaganda, as with bit of editing, they could easily make it look like the League of Villains were going on an all-out killing spree, attacking the civilians of Deika City, but instead of waiting for the Heros to come in and save the day, it would be the "civilians" who decided to take action to defend their city from the League's scourge, and if the MLA is successful in defeating the League, then the whole country will be shocked to see that the combined effort of civilians were able to put an end to the league, without the help of Pro Heroes. The authorities and other news networks would be quick to call this an act vigilantism, which in this society is considered just another act of villainy, and broke the law that restricted the use of quirks, but in the public's POV, they saw one of many benefits that the free use of quirks could bring to society, and would inspire others to follow in their example, and will start a new "Liberation" movement, a movement that'll lead to a subtle revolution once they amass enough support and numbers. But this can be achieved if the Liberation is successful in their goal to destroy the League.

I hope in the end the League of Villains will not only rescue Giran, have Gigantomachia and the Doctor's help and assets. But all of the surviving members of the Meta Liberation Army bow down to Shigaraki and recruit them to the LOV ranks. While they raid and pillage Detnarat for more funds and tech/gadgets/support items. And take over Deika City as the new LOV's base of operations and home. That way they even the odds against the heroes.

They're showing tomura making such cute and HUMAN faces, at times badass and the LoV also have a sense of humor. If horikoshi isn't careful it's gonna be hard to root for the heroes in the end 😂

I can't wait to see how the villains will succeed against the liberation army. This is such an interesting chapter and can't wait to see what's their next move after it. Also, I feel that Twice most likely made a clone of Gigantomachia or maybe he made clones of them to distract the army while they rescue their friend. Also, I can't wait to see how Bakugou or Todoroki play into this arch with the liberation army.

@Truth Hero Looking back at the chapter, I realized that Dabi must be heartless asf If even Shigaraki cares about going to save Giran. Shiggy could've made the call to just ignore it and let him die if he wanted to but he didn't, that says alot.

Back in season 1 he had to concentrate on just desitergrating aizawa skin. Now he can touch people and crumble them to dust.
I think he was just taunting him, he disintegrated the door pretty fast, and he killed Chisaki's assistant and crumbled his hands pretty quickly

Also I thought of this know that 20% of worlds population doesn't have a quirk and that there are people with quirks but aren't exactly useful in combat (like heroes and villains) so I figured that people like those should have carrier especially a rich one (as in rich carrier) with being an Idol being one of them.

You know what's really sad about Shigaraki? That he's stuck at a mental age of a child. A person that has gone through a traumatic experience or a victim of abuse may be stuck in the mental age that they were in. So for example, Shigaraki maybe 20 years old on the outside but only 5, 6 or 7 mentally for the rest of his life. Thus explaining why he is a 'man child' as described by the heroes. It's really sad if you think about it, he could've had a normal life instead…

Think of it. Think of Kenpachi vs Byakuya. Yammy kept getting between the two captains. That's how he kept getting beat down. So basically he keeps putting Destro in the middle and keeps him getting knocked aside cos he was in the way. I did the same thing in Tera. I used one of the BAMs I was fighting to hit another one chasing me. As for the higher ups, we can only wait. I'm on the same page as you at this point. The two successors are growing. Both Deku and Shigaraki. I get the feeling that at the end of this, Shigaraki is going to get the support of the underworld if its streaming as you said. Shigaraki knows how to capitalize. He did it to All Might, he did it to Stain, he did it to Overhaul. Be there, make your presence known, capitalize. Jist make sure you're not the one knocked on your ass. The question is, what was Shigaraki's mutation? The doctor said he used a power he didn't know he had. Our question now is, what was it? He was the one that wiped out his family so we need to know how. He likes leaving us with as many questions as we get answers. We know about the hands now. So basically the facets we know but didnt think too hard on them are starting to come to light. All we can do now is wait.

That sliding hero was the one who came when Bakugo and Todoroki defeated that water/seltzer villain and his gang... since that hero is in on it, hopefully that means that seltzer guy makes a comeback, because he had a sick design just to only be a one-off character.

Well this would be a good idea for Shigaraki to show his smarts by killing two birds with one stone with a high-risk, high reward plan.
He can have Mr. Compress trap him in a marble & get him into Liberation Army's stronghold like an certain "army infiltration operative" where he'll get Giantomachia's attention. Because Giantomachia is so focused on him, he'll mow down a good majority of their forces while trying to get to Shigaraki, who at this point will be trying his hand into the stealth genre by taking down a few soldiers here & there while avoiding large & powerful groups & instead luring Giantomachia to them, all while the rest of the league take down any stragglers & kill any communications & tech to prevent backup, but (under Shigaraki's orders) leave just enough to keep hammering Giantomachia with to whittle down his HP, while not being to much of a problem for Shigaraki when he finally confronts him after all the battles begin to tire the giant out.
If this works, the Liberation Army's forces will be forced to turn tail & run after that slaughterfest, while gaining Giantomachia respect & get him as a ally. That's my theory anyway.

My theory is that the doctor is creating Nomu's by using people as test subjects. We know that or some of us about that because in the end of the chapter when Stain rescue Deku from flying Nomu (or the next chapter, I'm not sure) Hirokoshi puts on the last page illustration of one of Deku's bullies from middle school, at the same time answering the question why this Nomu choose to take Deku. (I'm reading it on readheroacademia.com , so I don't know if this illustrations are on other websites.)
In the previous chapters , the liberation army leader shown hebis against one-for-all plan because it over shadow his. Shigaraki will probably use that to bring Machia to attack them. Something like he think one for all his bad... boom they dead. If, he can convince Machia that he was there fornthe sake of one for all, itnmight convince him that he is an ally maybe

no matter who wins, there will be one even bigger Loser. And that is the Hero industry, cause if the non-corrupted people or police found out through thoose cameras that the destroyed Town was a part of a terrorist group, the trust in Heros (who already is shaky) will become even shakier.
When Giga is emotional, he destroys everything in his path. Probly implyingt hat while he may tryt o focus on Shiriagki, he will destory the idito bystanders that attack him. and do not forget, Gran torino said Gigas power is a Natural Disaster, and a Town have been "liberated" what better way to Cause Fear to the Public about his new Kingship, then by wiping it of the map by manipulatinga dumb brute.

I think shiguraki plans on causing massive destruction with gigantomachia trying to get him so the liberation army has to attack to protect the place since it seems to be main base for the liberation army which will cause gigantomachia to annihilate them

I think Dabi and Spinner are gonna LOVE having to fight these pros that are working for the Liberation Army. Also, I love how Shigaraki is so versatile with his plans. You can tell he doesn’t give a shit about the Liberation Army because he’s just charging into battle, but isn’t being careless because he is gonna be bringing Gigantomachia. HOWEVER, this planning isn’t anywhere near the meticulous planning he did to take down Overhaul, somebody who Shigaraki clearly saw as a major threat.

Kind of feel bad for twice. If he get's captured he is the easiest to torture. Take off his mask and he will feel like he is splitting. But it could also help him figure out that he will not split it's just his mental thing.

I don't think giganta won't go after shiguraki because he doesn't necessarily want him to be elimated. He wants him to prove his worthiness. And for the league to be taken down by the LA will hurt All for One. So his plan is pretty genius.

I think they should shed some light on dabi and have him reveal himself in the battle field if they team up with pro heroes
Maybe the doctor won't teleport Gigantomachia until he's fully recovered because he thinks, and said, that using Gigantomachia against the Liberation Army when Shigakari hasn't earned his full support is cheating. I think what will happen, and what Shigaraki might be planning, is that Gigantomachia and the LA will fight, but rather than fighting with or against Shigaraki, they will fight over him. Gigantomachia is too focused on Shigaraki to be distracted by anything, and the LA want to kill Shigaraki and destroy the League of Villains as a show of power so they won't let this hulking nobody steal their kill. The LA tries to bring down Gigantomachia, fails and is forced to retreat, with the bonus of Gigantomachia being weak enough for Shigaraki to take down himself.
That being said, I don't think any of this will happen until further down in the arc. Horikoshi looks like he's using the same kind of set-up as in the Overhaul arc: the protagonists overwhelmingly outnumbered on enemy territory and being separated to fight individual battles while trying to reach someone in need of rescue. If that is the case, Gigantomachia's arrival will be the twist that turns the tide in favor of the protagonists, the way Toga and Twice betraying the Yakuza during the Overhaul arc turned the tide in favor of the heroes.

Here's just a thought about how Nomu's are actually made!

In one of the chapters (in Volume 7 I believe!), at the very end, it gives us a hint to what the process is. This part is called 'The "Why did the winged Nomu single out Midoriyia Izuku out of the whole crowd to fly off with!? Here's something of an oblique hint" corner.'
Just below it is Tsubasa, or the winged kid that Bakugo befriended when he was younger. This is supposedly saying that this kid was turned into a Nomu, specifically the one that carried off Midoriyia. It may be weird to think, why, of all people, this kid?
Well it was said that this kid is related to the doctor that diagnosed Midoriyia as quirkless, saying the doctor is the kid's grandfather. And later (I believe) it was confirmed that that Doctor was actually the one working with All for One.
Kind of twisted Horikoshi :'). But this is just a theory based heavily implied evidence, disagree with if you want. It isn't the happiest thing to imagine.
