This was a super helpful video!
I would love to see a breakdown on finishing through contact because as a slashing guard this is an area I need to work on.
Great video, coach!
You're welcome. I'll add it to the list.
This is a fantastic video. Something I will probably use just as a little extra drill to put a little more work in. I think this will really help me improve though
Great. Thanks.
dag coach, I needed this info back in my jv days or little league :)
Me too :)

Your Welcome.
Thankz biggest kyrie fan
nice video coach
Thanks :)
How exactly do you get that spin on the ball? By rotating your hand or flicking your wrist or some other way?
Rotating and flicking your wrist and letting the ball roll off of your fingers. Kinda like spinning a bowling ball if you're familiar with that.
Someone told me you should also use your pinky to do it
Okay so I set 5 mins on my phone and do it for one hand and then another 5 on the left which is a total of 10 min? Or is it 5 min total of both right and left
What is the best footwork for shooting? Hop, 1-2... What situations is one better than the other?

hi coach good job again
how do you exactly finish in the rim? like in one-on-ones i always have a hard time finishing or in fastbreaks. i got to gym and worked on my core so i learned how to be an acrobat but its very tiring. how do people finish in the rim so easily like they knew how the defense would act or theres no defense at all
ty
Simple. PRACTICE and a lot of it. The reasons the pros make it look easy are the hours and hours they put in daily working on their craft.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
wait how do you practice it? do some floaters a hundred times? finish with left and right hand a hundred times? how
Yes, you already know what to do. We have a ton of NBA level videos. Whatever you want to get good at practice those things. Being a great player is also about making decisions, right? So I'm not going to answer every single question in full detail because you need to be a problem solver and critical thinker. Make sense?

Coach what are some tips when watching film of a player?
All depends on why you're watching and what you want to improve.
For general scoring ability
Watch how they attack, look at their spacing, moves they make to get separation, etc...
How many minutes should we do this drill how often and how long would it take to get that English at the high school level
You can do it every day for a few mins. You should see improvement within days and if you continue working the drill you can start seeing it pay off in gameplay. Your confidence should increase and you'll instinctively use these types of finishes.

EGTBasketball thank you for the reply
You're welcome.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
How many minutes a day should we do this? I know you said a few minutes but I don’t know how much I should do can I get an exact number? Thanks Joe, take care!
5 mins each hand every day.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Is that right?^^
5 mins per hand each day, so 10 mins total each day.

Mikan drill
Also why is it called "English" ?
It's one of those things I never questioned - it's just called putting "english" on the ball.
