Thanks Eric. Yeah very easy. Drain cleaner or straight Caustic Soda also works but they can both ruin the surface pretty quickly. You have a bit of time with the oven cleaner. 👍
These look great Mick, I'm going to cry when they water this stuff down and you have to use 4 times as much anyway. That easyoff cleans 50 years of hard grease quick while degreaser does nothing but no good for paint. I really hope they leave this stuff alone not like they did with paint stripper , takes 4 times as much now. Nice work mate.
Thanks Peter, yeah I think they turned out perfect for what I'm using them for. Oh yeah, I hear ya. Degreaser is a lot weaker than the old days, paint stripper next to useless too. Even nail polish remover is watered down these days. I wanted to use some for removing CA glue, but it's hard to find one with Acetone in it... So I just bought Acetone. lol Thanks mate! 👍
Them shock bodies can rust in peace, or actually not, they're aluminium, but I noticed that no-one had put a Megadeth joke in there yet... Good tip, I definitely need to try that I'm not such a fan of the Tamiya blue...
@@RCHobbyShed yeah takes longer then 5 min thats for sure.. Also depends on the hardness of the anodizing. The things that are hard anodized are a little harder to remove.
If you invite people for Brekkies, make sure they don't use that bowl! Strip the white off their teeth lol. I use this technique for cleaning RC parts (aluminium and cast etc) works well.
I'll save that bowl for people I don't like 🤣. Nah it's not that bad, just give the bowl a good wash and it's good. Yeah it does work well, I used to use it on car manifolds back in the day. 👍
Thanks. Yeah it will work on your grill. Naturally, try it in a small area first. But I don't see there being any issues, should be a lot quicker than sanding. 👍
Mick i have a Tamiya Blackfoot Xtreme that is painted yellow i want to strip the paint off the shell. I heard this would work also on a body. Any truth to this. What would you suggest cant find that Tamiya paint remover here in the US. Thanks
Hi Robert. I heard of people using oven cleaner on hard bodies, but I've never actually tried. I've heard nitro fuel also works, but haven't tried that on hard bodies, it works well on Polycarbonate (Lexan) bodies though. Maybe try some on a small area and see if it works. 👍
I use the same method on any blue anodized parts, hate blue! to be fair i find all coloured metal wierd. Metal should be natural looking! Best ever colour combo is Black carbon and silver metal.
Good stuff Gary. Haha yeah, I think blue is a bit over done these days. I don't mind coloured metals, but when I see people use 3-4 colours on one car 🤢. Silver and carbon does look awesome! 👍
That was a pretty cool trick , I would of never thought easy off would do that so easily.
Thanks Eric. Yeah very easy. Drain cleaner or straight Caustic Soda also works but they can both ruin the surface pretty quickly. You have a bit of time with the oven cleaner. 👍
Your timing is impeccable, Sir!
Thanks mate! 👍
This is perfect timing for my project, cheers Mick! 👍🏼
Thanks Owen. Glad it helped. 👍
Genius!👌
I'll keep this idea up my sleeve for sure, thanks for sharing another one of your tricks mate👍🦘🇦🇺
Thanks mate. Yeah pretty simple one! 👍
Worked a treat Mick 👍🤓🇦🇺
Thanks Paul. Yeah worked really well! 👍

I use that method, I put them in a plastic bag though so I can do up the bag and leave them for a bit without having to breath in the fumes. 👍🏼
Good stuff mate. Yeah a plastic bag would work too. 👍
Well i'll be...... Thats A Dam Good Result there Mick Thanx a million for sharing that :-))
Yeah, so simple but effective. No probs Andrew! 👍
Top tip Mick👍
Thanks mate! 👍

Haha nice, first with the Megadeth joke! 😁. Thanks mate, yeah I'm not a huge fan of the blue either. 👍
Great tip episode, Quality dude 👌
Thanks mate! 👍
Winner move !!
Thanks mate! 👍
I have tried this before but did not work well. Need to try this cleaner.
Ok. That explains what you were up. I was wondering why you had gold dampeners for an re re Turbo Ultima.
Haha yeah. Now you know mate! 😁👍
Great tip!! Ive been using paint stripper this whole time..
Thanks! How well does paint stripper work? I imagine it would take a long time. 👍

@@rcaddictgarage Ahh, yeah I thought it may take longer. Maybe oven cleaner maybe be helpful to you. Worth a try I guess. 👍

I trust the shirt, anyone who listens to Megadeth can be trusted.
Brilliant! Would this work on my aluminium car grill that has an anodised protective layer? Currently I've been sanding it off!!
Thanks. Yeah it will work on your grill. Naturally, try it in a small area first. But I don't see there being any issues, should be a lot quicker than sanding. 👍
