No, the NYPD doesn't run an ambulance service, and Mikayla didn't say that, but both services are given direction through emergency response operators, so the point still stands that if an ambulance wouldn't make it somewhere due to traffic, they could send a cop car over (probs not a meter maid, but idk if they're in communication or not with the operators) to start CPR. Even if it's just because the cop car can come from a different direction in case that's faster due to little traffic in other areas.

It just matters that dispatch can get someone trained in CPR to the location asap and provide that until an ambulance can get there. Cops are trained in CPR, and more importantly meter maids are not cops. The mini cars replaced the 3 wheel scooter patrols because they’re safer, easier to use, have air conditioning, don’t require a motorcycle license, and can fit on sidewalks in Central Park. It’s still a relatively new change, but they’re using meter maids (people being paid to patrol meters and parking areas for traffic/parking violations) so more cops are free to respond to more important things. It still goes hand in hand with the NYPD as officers can still issue parking tickets and it doesn’t matter if it was issue by a cop or the parking attendant, it’s still a ticket. That car was a real patrol car, and in it was a real cop. Not sure if you’re aware, but when you call 911 it connects you to dispatch, not the local police, and they tell the necessary responders where to go. They have open lines of communication to see which responders are available and nearby, and cops are trained in basic first aid and cpr specifically in case an ambulance is not there yet as cops tend to be the first on scene. It’s an easy misconception to have, but “parking enforcement officers” are part of a city’s transportation department, not the police department. Hopefully this clears up some of your confusion :)

@@e1221 everything Jarvis and Nick said was true - it’s very efficient with gas consumption, you can park anywhere, you can squeeze through narrow streets and traffic, the insurance costs less yearly. A lot of plus sides, especially for a cop car. (I am not a cop, never been never will be) Also might I add, this Smart Fortwo model has more cabin space than a Fiat 500, the car is almost 2 meters long and it weighs 1808 lbs, it’s just a car like any other lol

Speaking as someone who had been riding my Boosted board for over a yr before I fractured my jaw in two and a half places, broke a bone in my ear which poked through my ear canal causing temporary (hopefully) hearing loss and tinnitus, also covered me with road burns, etc. Honestly he's lucky as hell that no one has gotten hurt seriously, when you don't know how to use them you can launch yourself off so easily. What stuck out enough in this vid that I felt compelled to leave a comment is the posture on the poor woman he asks about the car. No ones shoulders are that hunched naturally, at best she's extremely uncomfortable with being accosted by a man she doesn't know and getting grilled on camera about something she has no opinion on, but doesn't feel comfortable just saying whatever she wants. And that's IF there wasn't more dialogue removed, because she looks like she's already talking to him by the time her segment actually starts.

Speaking as someone who had been riding my Boosted board for over a yr before I fractured my jaw in two and a half places, broke a bone in my ear which poked through my ear canal causing temporary (hopefully) hearing loss and tinnitus, also covered me with road burns, etc. Honestly he's lucky as hell that no one has gotten hurt seriously, when you don't know how to use them you can launch yourself off so easily. If I'm being honest I do not like that at all.
