Wow I really hate that software licence restriction… if I buy something I expect it to keep working ! Reason NOT to buy a Launch device. Lose of updates is fine, but lose off use is not.
Actually it's not restrictions at after finished the 2 years subscription, but you can't use for next new cars in the future, for example if subscription finished this 2022 ,you can use with no limits all to 2022 but you are not unable to do cars from 2023 ,2024 etc until upgrade again.
I need a unit that will program my 2013 Subaru WRX STI ECM. I have a replacement ECM but it is useless unless I can clone my original intermittent ECM VIN, immobilizer and keys. Unfortunately almost all the devices I have looked at are only fully functional with German cars. I have a Cobb tuner which allows me to program performance functions but not the essentials to give me a running car.
No such thing as a free Launch. Sorry i meant lunch 🙂 A lot of these, get hit by the car manufactures taking action against them for IP issues. I just checked all the bits i want on Amazon and not one of there prices have been reduced by prime day offers, bugger 😞

@@danielpopa2677 you mean that since you can't update, you will not have the data for models after the last update from your Launch device.

So £500 to buy it and 700 dollars to update it after 2 years you just well buy another unit
The real question is will it work after the included subscription expires, simply will not be updated after 2 years???
