Yeah, specially because Matt knows he shouldn't be pulling those kinds of stunts anymore and he did anyway, on a random spot that wasn't even important for the outcome of the match. I love how Matt reinvented himself from the old days, and them from the Broken Matt Hardy and is now doing this awesome heel HFO gimmick.

It really can't be overstated how amazing the story of Hangman Page from beginning until his inevitable taking of the title from Omega has been, probably one of, if not the greatest star making slow burn storytelling since the rise of The Rock and Austin. Kudos for just how much they respect their fans at AEW. Hangman is gonna be the biggest star in Wrestling.

This was the first time in a long, long time that people actually booed Mox. We all wanted Page to win simple as that, the storyline with Omega is subtly built that no one else would look better ending his reign.

Wow you succinctly summed up why people love Hangman so much! And yeah, I wasn't really feeling the Hangman back when he was in ROH. He was a vanilla big man with some cool moves but I just didn't care. The slow-burn build he received after his lost to Jericho when AEW was getting underway actually made me notice him a bit more, and then when he went on his drunken spree and started doing "cowboy sh!t" I really took notice. His invigoration to reach the top again now has me rooting for him now more than ever. This has been some top-tier booking by TK, and I'm curious how Jim Cornette will react to it?
When Moxley hits the Hangman and people actually start to boo, you know Adam Page is a megastar.

The beautiful thing is, not only do the fans love and appreciate hangman and the storytelling behind him but they love and appreciate AEW even more for still recognizing hangman's position and not allowing him to be "hung" up to dry simply because of new additions to the roster.

The fans helped make that happen too. Page is clearly over, and AEW has done of good job so far of long term story telling here, and Page has had a two year road to the top starting with Jericho. And what’s nice is Hangman doesn’t get lost in the shuffle here, there are still plenty of options for Bryan Danielson and CM Punk. Page can beat Danielson and then Danielson can work with Omega, while the elite can still stay in the main event picture by putting Page in a field with Adam Cole.
He is quite "hung" tho

Totally agree. Tonight was an amazing example of how over their homegrown talent are. Hangman, Sammy, Darby, Orange, etc... all got huge pops and had tbe crowd on their feet. One of the my favourite Dynamites ever.

Hangman was just about ice cold when he faced Jericho. He’s come a long way. I can’t remember wanting to see a guy win the world title like this in 20 years.

Problem was not everyone was familiar with Hangman going into the Jericho match. He’s built himself up the last two years to show why he was in that inaugural title match.

It’s a massive testament to both Hangman and AEW for reinventing his character and fantastic storytelling. Right now EVERYONE wants him to take the belt from Kenny, he is THE main character of AEW. He IS AEW.

That deadeye through the table looked absolutely brutal for both men, Hangman takes the full impact on his knees and PAC just about avoids landing directly on his head with Hangman landing on top of him

Aew has revived my love for wrestling again . Can't say much to these guys but I will thank the whole team of aew superstars as well as the owner of aew,you guys have no idea for millions of people you guys have brought back the love for wrestling . Their live shows are even better. and that roster is stacked.. it reminds me of the attiude era roster. 20 years from now we will look back and view it almost in the same way we saw the A era with their talent. But who konws , i think aew might make wrestling cool again at least for live shows.

Hangman has had a 2 year arc that has been expertly crafted. Page has been built up as a people’s champ.
The payoff of taking the strap from Omega will be wonderful.

When a certain wrestler made the crowd booo on such a superstar such as Moxley, you know he's over as heck! AEW just created a star in Hangman Adam Page. Now that's some real "Cowboy Shit!".
I love the story that this match told. Every competitor but Page and Moxley was more interested in their own rivals rather than winning a title shot. I have a strong feeling after Page wins the title at Full Gear his first challenger will be Moxley, which would be a great way to bring Jon back in the main event picture after all this time. Omega might be the crown of AEW, but Hangman is the heart and soul, and Moxley the fiery blood that courses through its veins.
Plus, Moxley becoming the next big heel would be really cool. Hell, Eddie Kingston as a heel with him is even better and they could be the AEW World Tag Team Champions. They've made teams that got two guys over once they split like Kenny Omega and Hangman, so why not do it again?
Nah. Page's big feud will be Pac.

One of the best pops of all time in AEW
When AEW started as a company, I was not a fan of Hangman Page. But man in these 2 years he has evolved so much through good storylines and excellent matches. Mox is my favourite wrestler, yet I wanted Hangman to be the Joker and win the match. Two years ago I was not a fan of the guy and now I was screaming COWBOY SHIT. Thank you AEW for reviving my love for wrestling again!
Exactly the same with me... I had no idea who he was back when he was facing jericho for the inaugural championship.. But 2 years later he is my favourite and I was bursting in joy when his music hit..

Hangman's story drew me in. Being kicked out of the Elite, being friends with the Dark Order, going it alone, getting "injured" and coming back. Classic long term booking. This is like Crockett's NWA. And I LOVE it!!!
This is how you build a super star, a perfect babyface. The long term story line pays off and it would be a huge pop if Hangman wins the AEW title. I mean just look at those people at the back. We were soo desperate for him to be the next champion. He deserves it!

Made Hangman's return even more spectacular
Hangman’s return is in my top 3 returns this year. Up there with Brock and Cena but in no specific order and that says a lot about this guy. Plus it has good story to it and this win makes it even more better. I cannot wait to see where he goes

The main character has returned.
You know AEW has done a great job building stars when the biggest pop of the night wasn't Danielson or Punk, but the homegrown hero. They didn't need to debut Windham or Buddy Murphy, etc. They just needed the main character of the show. It's gonna be a fun five weeks until Full Gear.

What an amazing main event! I felt like I was watching a PPV match. The best thing is, I've felt this way before many times watching Dynamite. AEW is quality professional wrestling.
I love how Moxley still shined in this match. It's like he carried most of the match but HANGMAN returning was pop of the night. I fucking missed him 😭

When you look at the story they have told with him over the last two years. From winning the Casino Battle Royale and folks saying he wasn't ready to main event to his time tagging with Kenny getting him in front of people to their break up and the dark order building him back up again. to THIS MOMENT right here hearing that crowd go crazy for his return and him winning and knowing he gets another shot at the title vs kenny and he NOW feels ready. That right there is what you call character development and one hell of a character arc.
That is why I love AEW

In terms of Hangman as a character, it was also more crucial than the championship win that followed, because it marked the first moment his anxious cowboy character proved himself capable of achieving anything.

Hangman being the first person in AEW to kick out of the one winged angel and starting a fracture somehow in the group that left em behind is the only ending I’ll accept.
I honestly don’t know why I’m crying. I shouted “c’mon! Grab it! You can do it!” I’ve been completely sucked into his character arc. I know there’s a blend of truth in this character. The pain of losing family/friends, alcoholism, isolation is something I’ve experienced too.

Two hours later and everyone including Anna Jay was on the floor drunk off their ass and hangman says, "well it looks like the party's over" and took a bottle of jack and left. Hilarious. Also Matt Hardy tried to get Page drunk in a bar but it didn't work and Matt getting intoxinated signed a contract to have a match against hangman instead of of hangman joining his stable.
