      Yes, he did.
      That is how he got the visions, and why the Oracle is seen at the end in the puddle of water as SHE was the Smith clone fighting Neo, why she said "Do what you came here to do.", as in... do the assimilation thing.
      Smiths phrase during the meeting of the Oracle, "Cookies need love like everything does..." suggests he had also assimilated Sati, the small East Indian girl. The problem I found with this is... why was she even in the film to begin with... and why Seraph did not do anything! Was he not with Sati??
      Furthermore. Online theorists suggest this whole film was about Smith being the the One.... not Neo. Just an FYI

      @WaveForceful Před 8 lety +54

      +Sokath, his eyes uncovered! Seems like Smith could be the one yes. The one was stated to be born inside the matrix, Neo wasn't, he was born in the real world. Smith was originally born inside the matrix but became "unplugged, a new man" after his encounter with Neo. The one was also stated to have the ability to change the Matrix to any form they see fit....Neo never really displayed any such capabilities, and the only abilities he displayed was flight, enhanced speed and augmented strength but could also manipulate codes somewhat to a lesser degree when he removed the projectile from Trinity, and thats about it.
      Smith could change the matrix to a much greater extent as shown in the last fight scene when he said "Like what I've done with the place". and could copy himself on to virtually any other program. Neo was an anomaly, a remainder program. In the first movie the oracle stated that Neo wasn't the one, however Morpheus stated that if Neo believed, he could do anything...possibly Neo could simply be a Human that has reached the limits of what a Human is capable of in the Matrix and has become synced with the Matrix itself, he is not the one but is an extremely powerful Human..
      Smith meets the requirements as being the one far more than Neo does. Smith also technically ended the war and saved Humanity even though it wasn't his intention with the help of Neo. Neo allowed the source to delete smith thus ending the war. At the end of the final movie, the architect says to the oracle that she "played a dangerous game", suggesting to me that she knew that Smith was the one but she knew Neo had a pivot role too because she knew he wasn't the one but was a very gifted Human that had the capabilities to defeat smith.
      Not sure if that makes sense but to me smith seems like the one whist Neo is simply a powerful human.

The Smiths gain at least some of the memories/ abilities of the programs they overwrite -- as seen in the line "Cookies need love like everything does" at 5:47. The Oracle has visions -- and apparently roughly the same powers as Neo -- and thus so does Oracle-Smith.

    Neo is The One as intended by the Architect. Agent Smith is The One as interpreted by Morpheus (born in the system, able to rewrite the Matrix as he saw fit). Neo was designed to be a pretend god. Smith actually became one. Neo was meant to simulate change. Smith brought about actual change. In this way, both Neo and Smith are The One. And the Oracle was guiding them to their fates the entire time, because she was the only one who could see the real problem. Neither Neo nor Agent Smith do anything proactively. Both are pretty much reacting to each other, the Architect, and the Oracle throughout the films. Basically, the real players in the franchise are the Oracle, who acts as an agent of change, and the Architect, whose purpose is to maintain status quo. I think the reason it took so many "The One" cycles for actual change to occur is because the Oracle was still learning about human (and machine) behavior, and maybe she developed a desire (i.e. utility function) to decrease the suffering of humanity and machines, as that seems to be her secondary role throughout as well (cookies, babysitting, teaching, etc.).

    Yeah, mostly sinful as hell but I still like it :). Now, for some explanations:
    Q:Why do Seraph, Morpheus and Trinity spin around while walking in the club?
    A:Because is the only way for 3 persons back to back to move forward without someone being in danger of tripping because of backstepping and sidestepping.
    Q:Why the other 5 "ones" before Neo did not give any signs of controlling machines in the real world?
    A:Because all of them stopped at the step with the Architect. They went back to Zion using the other door and ended the war by selecting the men and women that would keep the species alive.
    Q: Is the movie really not explaining how Neo got trapped in the trainman's "cozy place"?
    A: It does at the point where the Oracle says to Neo that "The powers of the One extend beyond the Matrix...[snip]...But you were not ready for that. You should had died, but, apparently, you were not ready for that either." Satisfying explanation? Nah...Not at all to me. But an explanation, nevertheless.

      *****
      According to the Architect, the problem of acceptance of the Matrix by the humans was solved by providing a choice: Zion and a way to get out of the matrix. However, this solution introduced an "anomaly" to the Matrix. That anomaly is called by the Humans "The One". This "anomaly" is able to perform things that only the Architect is supposed to be able to do with the Matrix and, apparently, a side-effect is that, somehow, this anomaly is also able to affect the Machines controlled by the "Machine Source" in the Real World, as well. Since "The One", has no way of knowing any of that other than with learning from experience or some Machine with knowledge of this(apparently only the Oracle and the Architect in the movie) tells him/her. The "death" of "the anomaly" *in the Matrix*, signifies the moment of activation of its effects.

      The "anomaly" is not periodic. It manifests randomly(and very rarely) in the system. The manifestation of the "anomaly" *demands* the initiation of the events that will lead to the destruction of Zion, the selection of those to continue the human kind, the *absorbing of the one* back to the Source and the reset of the Matrix. As it is obvious in the movie, failure to do so *can lead to the destruction of both the Humans and the Machines*.

    I mean for start that whole "creatures of myth" being previous rejected agents gone rogue (like the twins & the maravingians silver killable flunkies) you could mount whole story arcs on that kinda of stuff.

Remember the first movie didn't really have Zion, it was just mentioned as a quick backstory where Neo was the story. This is why the sequels sucked because they were rushed with no additional character development.

Because from what I heard, they wrote the entire damn trilogy story originally, then restructured the first movie's plot to work better as a concise singular story, in case they didn't get money to finish the story they wanted. The original contains many things that hint at plot twists in the later movies, including the Architect, so its hardly an absurd claim for them to make.

    4:55 Neo and Mr. Smith get overlapping motives and personality traits when Neo jumped into Mr. Smith in the first movie and blew him apart. Neo wanted to stay in the Matrix. Mr. Smith wanted to get out because he couldn't stand it...specifically, "It's the smell." Anyway, Neo's freedom and Mr. Smith's mechanical thinking and movements are blended. Neo is part Smith and Smith is part Neo. That explains a LOT of the plot development in the two sequels. Just insert motives and attitudes of Neo into Smith's actions when they seem out of character. Do the same with attitudes and motives of Mr. Smith appearing in Neo. For the first time ever...the One has decided to save one person (Trinity) rather than go through the other door when facing the Architect. I see the trilogy as the unique break in the pattern of behavior of the first 5 'Neo' characters in the first 5 Zion destruction cycles.

Neo was known in 2002 (the time of initial release for MK: Deadly Alliance), and filming for both Reloaded and Revolutions began as early as 2001 - evidenced by the death of Gloria Foster (the original actress playing The Oracle) part way through production. The sequels may have been released after Deadly Alliance debuted Kenshi, but he was always designed as an homage to actor Keanu Reeves and his role as Neo.

      Max Schneider They have a whole scene, long and drawn out, where Agent Smith takes over the Oracle and then they all laugh about it.

      There is no mention or implication of multiple matrix servers, furthermore, it would contradict the "Smith will ruin *The* Matrix" notion, and Neo wouldn't be The One, only one of multiple anomalies, etc...
      And even if there would be multiple servers, where would people waking up in Europe, for instance, go? Are there multiple Zions as well? This is now rewriting the whole story...

    I like the theory that the Merovingian is the real Architect.
    If you ran an entire universe, why would you spend it in a room with bunch of TVs?. Why not go all out and just have an amazing amount of fun?
    Plus, the Persephone character makes a bit more sense then, it would explain why he has the power to keep obsolete programs from being deleted, and why he kept werewolves as bodyguards in the 2nd movie.

    To be honesty I never even knew the actors changed for the Oracle, I just assumed she was rapidly ageing or something.
    Also it's not really about being "entertaining", it's a movie to make you think.

    • @AdamHH11
      @AdamHH11 Před 8 lety

      Glebs Litvjaks Yeah but I think it's bullshit to say that like it's fact. Philosophy is what you make up it, just like art, the only thing that matters is how far you want to go with that thought. To you, the "love is just a word" phrase is a deepity, but to others it could mean anything.
      That's the beauty of these things, there's no definition set in stone, it leaves it to your imagination.

    The original oracle actor died before filming of the 3rd Matrix movie. So they didn't re-cast her, they just had to replace her with a new actress and make up a reason for the 3rd movie.
