However, it does not display seconds in AOD mode. I have not found any applications allowing to design own customized faces. I did not expect much: just hours, minutes and seconds displayed in a readable, large font (not pretending to be 7-segment display). But there is no such simple, elegant face. They are all with some decorations, color pictures, etc. Now I still have doubts whether the GPS works in this watch: I could not get a signal even once (I waited 5 minutes, with a view of the sky).

Actually you can try raising the screen timeout option in the watch, Go to Settings - Auto Screen Off - Increase time to 15 sec. Although the watch is equipped with sensors, so if you raise the wrist it will light up screen and at the same time if you put your hand down it will turn off display. This is done to save power and increase battery life in the watch.
You can get Aod for the particular watch face if you select a watch face which has Aod in it. In this way you can get different Aod apart from the default ones.
Turn off the automatic brightness sensor, and unpair and pair the watch once, also update Zepp app and watch and then check. If issue persist, let me know.
You have to turn on notification for incoming calls. For this go to Zepp App - Profile - Notification and Reminders - Turn on Incoming Call Alerts under Notification and Reminders.

Also check whether Zepp app is running in the background all the time, I will recommend to disable any task killer app and also disable any battery optimisation settings for Zepp app.

I think every watch should come with amoled display for always on feature because watch main function is to show time without any delay.

You don't need to press the button to go to the settings. Just scroll down from the top of the main screen and it will show the settings icons

Right now the AOD doesnot support animation in this watch, however, if I get such watch face AOD I will make a video on it.

This is the way Amazfit designed it. May be it will be fixed with a software update later on.

Always on display in smart smart mode goes blnak .... Highly disappointed
It will only work if you are wearing the watch. In case it is not working, change to schedule and then change agaim to alwaya on display it will work.
