  • Join me for a ride as I take you through Race 3 at the Winton Festival of Speed 2024 from my helmet cam! Experience the intense action and the thrill of the race from the cockpit of the iconic Alfa Romeo GTV6 in its vibrant Ignis Fridges Yellow livery. This car, a staple of the 1985 Australian Touring Car Championship, was driven by racing legends Alan Jones and Colin Bond and has been in my dad, Hugh Harrison's, collection since 1989.

I note that in this particular outing unlike 39 years ago, it did not pirouette on its own engine oil!

I don’t suppose your dad is Hugh Harrison who used to race the Dulux liveried GTV6 ?? Is this the Ignis GTV6 that was driven by Alan Jones/Colin Bond in the touring car championships/Bathurst etc. How special anyway regardless, nothing quite like a Busso V6 howling its way around the track 😁👍

Thank you so much for sharing. As a GTV owner myself a real thrill to see how well a touring car version goes. Would love to see so much more of this car. Maybe a technical discussion and film on it one day? Please

@@trentharrison4733 I would love that too. These are the cars from the era I loved and the best years of that era were 1985 - 1987. Bondy actually might have had a better 1987 if he had stuck with the GTV and continued development versus the very disappointing Alfa 75.

I believe Neville Crighton used to refer to them as "The Italian Go_Karts"!

Great driving and footage. That Skyline is a Turbo? Did you take the class win?

Yes its the HR-31 2 litre 6 cylinder turbo - successor to the previous DR30 4 cylinder 2 litre turbo.
