@@FilipSlim idk about 9, but the Harpies you play for Egotist are all garnets for sure. Feather Storm does nothing to advance your board state, that's not great to open multiple copies of. Egotist can be a brick if you have no way go get a Harpie on the board. It's like if Spright Starter forced you to control a Spright monster before you were allowed to activate it, but you're also summoning a vanilla monster from 1999 instead of a card that does something. Conditional extension is so ass, but Egotist is also 10,000 years old so I guess you can't really put all of the blame onto the card itself.
Ghostrick scare having synergy with the new ninjas is something I hadn't thought about. I will be building that Ninja decklist just because of wanting to see how well it works.
Has anyone noticed how people call decks "P.U.N.K. [Archetype]" and then you look at the list and it's playing 5 Punks in the main deck and one in the extra?
I've kind of had the opposite. I found so many decklists of archetypes I want to use that basically say "[Archetype] with a small P.U.N.K engine". Only to then turn out to be basically pure P.U.N.K with like 5 cards main deck from the actual archetype included.

A bit late to this one, but I've been playing a "Relinquished" deck, that's mostly just Tearlaments running Millennium-Eyes Illusionist and Relinquished Fusion to take advantage of the fact that they have really good GY effects when Millennium-Eyes Restrict hits the board, and if you squint really hard at King/Beastking of the Swamp their cards names are really "Relinquished" (bonus points for Illusionist being Level 2, to get to Spright Elf/Sprind in a pinch)

Seeing Harpie Lady do alright always puts a smile on my face. I have such a love/hate relationship with the deck though because it's really 1 or 2 solid support pieces from being a viable deck on its own but it's boss monsters all suck and the regular Harpies don't really do anything. I'd love to get a solid retrain of the original Harpie Lady #1 that actually gives it some more flexibility in the way it plays. Attack boost is nice in a pinch but some kind of extender would be a whole lot nicer. A lot of the pushing power in the deck comes from either the lackluster Synchro which is okay but not nearly strong enough to win games by itself, or from a swarming strategy which doesn't really get to take off in a single turn since Hysteric Sign is only once per turn so you'd have to topdeck the other Egotist, and almost every search is at the end phase which really blows for the deck since the monsters have no staying power on their own, and Hysteric Party requiring you to already have a bunch of Harpies in the grave which they don't have a way to reliably do since their combos are all so short. The deck really does have a lot of good things going for it - multiple ways to search Feather Duster, complete protection as a literal hand trap, Rank 4, 7, Synchro, and Link plays all contained through Channeler alone, a "Kizan" in Harpie Oracle, a poor man's makeshift Stratos in Perfumer, a free level 7 Pet Dragon if you control any main deck Harpie, an in-archetype Pot of Avarice, a pseudo Monster Reborn through Mirror Split... It has a lot of tools to potentially do a lot of neat things, but those things come exclusively from other archetypes you get pigeonholed into since Harpies themselves don't have any actual ways to take advantage of all their incredible support. Pure Harpies are simply too slow to keep up with even the most casual decks at this point. Really hope they get some kind of big push for new support to make a pure variant playable in the future like how they did with Thunder Dragons and Gate Guardian. I don't necessarily want the deck to be meta or even rogue, I just want to be able to win some casual games with a pure Harpie build. Ideally they'll give us a Rank 7 Xyz and a Rank 4 that only needs 2 materials instead of 3, that way Channeler becomes a way more efficient centerpiece for the deck, with some kind of negates attached to them or maybe some sort of special summon lock like Winda. Giving one of each would be great so that Channeler can pivot into whatever you need at that moment, between new support and older cards like Lightning Chidori and Tornado Dragon. Maybe make a retrain of Harpie Lady Sisters into a contact fusion which shuffles the materials into the deck since Harpies generally don't want their cards banished. Maybe have the fusion monster be able to Foolish your Harpie monsters from the deck to negate things and when it's removed from the field it lets you search for a Hysteric Party or something kind of like that. They need some kind of muscle in the form of new retrains instead of printing more and more support for the stupid ass main deck Harpie Lady Sisters. Konami thinks that Sisters is apparently the boss monster of the deck despite basically being a fucking vanilla that gets beaten over by Gene Warped Warwolf.
This reminds me of an incredibly stupid way of playing Cyber Dragons I want to try out as a meme deck, where I just use the tribute summonable Sky Striker cards (and a bunch of spells) to go into Cyber Twin(via Duality on H.A.M.P.), Infinity(using the level 5 machines into Nova method) and Chineratech Fortress(after turning the whole field to machines via Clockwork Night). This is SUCH a terrible idea, but at least it's not Inferno Tempest Aileron or Rage with Eyes of Blue.
The flip shenenigans is always so neat I have a blast with a prediction princess deck with the same krawler engine ( + deus x bc it had synergy with the deck)to get out utopic futur and some link plays
If I had joined the thread, I would probably share an OCG List I've been practicing for a while: Magikey Bystial using Ringowurm. It's quite good and makes good use of Bystials as extender instead of Hand Traps.
Cyber slash is really cool. giving extra value to backrow by stapling a compulse onto them is a cool boss design that isn't just "idk have a negate/floodgate". Always loved playing it in duel links. Shame that in TCG the good harpie spell/trap to flip is a big dumb floodgate :(
This video would have been great since Volcanics (right now) have only four really used: Scattershot, Shell, Rocket, BA Reload. After that, run some consistency engine that slows the game pace and you're set.

Regardless of the variant, you wanna run the least amount of main deck Mellfies possible because they're all bricks when you open them and are better to be searched/ss from the deck from other starters The most competitive variants run... only 2 of them (Catty and Pinny) but because I love them so much I run the astonishing amount of ... 4 Mellfies (Wally, Puppy, Catty, Pinny)

Does anyone know the Link monster between Accesscode and Apo in the Harpie deck? Looks like the Ancient Warrior Link but I don't think you can even summon that unless you're playing an Ancient Warrior so I'm guessing I have to be wrong
I like Fire Fist and think they're cool, but there's 3 reasons not to play them pure (besides not playing them at all): 1.) Reborn Tengu + Steam the Cloak + Airborne Assault 2.) Tri-Brigade 3.) Any number of Spright cards, alongside the aforementioned Tri-Brigade Like you can still fit in some Fire Fist monsters, but all the deck really cares about is how easy it is to get out the Fire Fist ED monsters and loop Tenki every turn lol
I actually prefer Fire Fist as a pure deck because of their focus on permanent spell cards and I like the artwork. It just sucks that the traps aren't that useful. Tenken gives immunity, for ONE main phase, but it's still the best trap to run because of the 300 ATK-boost. Sinto is a negate, but has a HOPT. Honestly, Tenki isn't even an important card. It's Ash Blossom-bait. You're doing the real searches with Rooster and Ram (and sometimes Elephant). I actually tried a mash-up with Fire Kings once, which focuses on level/rank 4s, but I like Fire Kings just as much, ever since I used Yubel in Duel Links to destroy Fur Hire. In general, Fire Fists are weak against modern decks/cards because those have removal and negates out the ass, but the real problem are untargettable boss monsters. I tried using Lava-Golem in Master Duel, but unfortunately, that card prevents you from normal-summoning that turn. You can't even set Boar. Unless I fusion summon and/or have Panda in the hand, that would be all for my turn. I should probably get Rekindling. Well, ritual works too, but the ritual monster is surprisingly situational. I rarely go into it. Kaijus would be the alternative, but removing just one monster at a time won't cut it most of the time, but Sphere Mode requires 3 tributes, which may be too much. I guess the alternative would be Nibiru, of which I forgot that it even existed.
That Toon decklist is the biggest example of why you shouldn't bother playing shitty archetypes if you can just play 0 archetypal cards..... That Ninja deck is really good for playing zero shitty Ghostrick monsters in the main deck.....😂😂😂
