What l would give for a tv show about vlad
What an anti-climactic ending to a pretty interesting docudrama. We jumped from a scene where Mehmed II is frustrated that Vlad is still out there, to a scene with the book of Destiny (the Illiad) and then all of a sudden Vlad is dead with his head on a pike. Seemed like they wanted to wrap it up quickly but probably could have made some earlier scenes in the episode shorter to fit in some story to bridge those events.

Also gives the scene a weird vibe that is in line with what Mehmed's mom says, it portraits it wasn't that much of importance in the grand scheme of things, at the end, from an objective standpoint, you are sitting on the throne of arguably world's most formidable force at the time, and he is just a guy from Wallachia.

The Ottomans were very respectful of beliefs in the lands they conquered. The Ottoman Sultan personally paid the expenses of the monasteries in Greece. People were bribing Ottoman bureaucrats to have their children become Janissaries. There are historical records of what I said.

Instead he is worshiped today in Romania as a national hero who defended the country from its enemies, with many statues and shrines dedicated to him. Who are we to tell them that they are wrong? We may think that, but to tell the people of another country that they are wrong to show love and devotion to the memory of one of their greatest hero's is extremely disrespectful.

History is written by the victor, and here it is disputable. Everyone writes his own history and handle the light and shadows.
