Confutatis While the wicked are confounded, assigned to flames of woe unending, Call me with Thy saints surrounded. Low I kneel, with heart submission; see, like ashes, my contrition; help me in my last condition
Intense, inspiring, marvellous, majestic, passionate, energetic and one of a kind! The sound of the coming judgement day, when mankind will be held accountable before God, for all its sins! An eternal musical masterpiece!

Can anyone tell me if they ever perform this at the Estates theater in Prague?? My dream is to experience this live in the theater where Mozart conducted. Please advise. This is my lifetime dream to experience ❤
Ok so Requiem is in April May and June but not at the Estates Theatre, instead at the Salvator’s Church in Prague. Don Giovanni is on this January 25th at the Estates Theatre and two days later a special event for Mozart’s birthday though, just imagine being in there for his birthday in the same halls he once walked on, listening to the same opera

I have this personal dilemma... I love deeply Mozart´s Requiem, and all his music... But, on the other hand, I have been an atheist all my life... A complete atheist, beyond redemption... If I am wrong, and in fact there is a God who is going to castigate me and teach me a hard lesson, and send me to Hell, I have a humble question: do you think I will be able to find there, a secluded corner or something, where I can continue to listen and enjoy Mozart for Eternity?
I think you're making things too complicated! the fact that Mozart believed in God and wrote like many others in his glory does not prevent atheists from listening to his music in any way! he lived in a completely different time when obsession with religion was the norm
don’t worry mate religion is a manmade thing and death is just eternal sleep, enjoy your life listen to all the mozart you want without worrying abt things like that

Dear Luis, there is no disbeliever on earth who is beyond redemption as god’s grace is for all, although I bare no absolute answer of wither god exist’s or not (nor does anyone), I do know for a fact that having a space for spirituality within one’s soul is necessary for an individual to live in tranquility with the uncertainties of life and existential dilemmas, and for myself I do act and conduct my life as if god does exist and by doing such I try to reach spiritual peace and tranquillity and live my life knowing that there is certainly a greater will or power (or god if you will) that enlightens the path for whomever seeks it.

Very sorry for your loss I lost my father this past September

You are absolutely right
Yes it’s the exact tempo it should be, all other interpretations are so slow
I've been listening to Mozart since I was a child. His music is beyond beautiful. It's hard to fathom he died 35.The requiem was his last composition.
if I am correct, he did not actually complete the entire Requiem ( VIII Sections ).......

Mozart could not imagine that 232 years after his death, his music is still being listened to, or perhaps it is?
This is quite short in length ! It always sounds like it should be longer because of the dramatic melody and intensity of it...
It is pathetic how the ignorant believe that Salieri was like in a movie. Salieri was a great composer too.
Right
Even in the movie he's a great composer, it's just his personality is fictionalised to make for a more compelling dynamic/conflict

It’s a pity the movie didn’t use the 2nd movement of the mass as the double fugue is out this world
thing is that, the Confutatis was never finished! i'm pretty sure one of Mozarts students wrote the other parts.

The arrangement was too fast... It is supposed to be a Requiem, like Lacrimosa.
Paul Boleche
I get what you mean, but do consider that this was arranged to fit the scene from the movie. I believe that, from a cinematic perspective, this was the right pacing.
Mozart composed the music to fit the theme of each stanza of the dies irae. The music is like that so as to give suspense to the flames of woe.
Well... This is just a part of the requiem, rex tremenda majestatis and dies irae are also fast paced.
