Unsolved Caroline Glachan part 1

On the morning of 24 August 1996, the severely battered body of 14 year old Caroline Glachan was found by a drug addict in the Leven river near Loch Lomond. She failed to return home after she had gone to meet a new boyfriend the previous night. She was not robbed or sexually assaulted. More than 14 years later, the apparently motiveless murder has still not been solved.

I’m from the area where Caroline stayed. 3 people were arrested for her murder yesterday (24th November 2021) and charged today (25th November 2021). They would’ve been 16-18 years ages when Caroline’s murder happened. Their parents would’ve covered for them as well.
Don’t get me started on the locals who would say “Aw! We all know who dunnit.” Then laugh and shrug it off 🤦‍♀️

I was living in Bonhill at that time and ironically my last memory of her was when she happily bounces towards me in her fun and energetic manner to coo over my then, new born son and then cheekily asked for a ciggy. She had a hug and put a 20p in the pram. Since silver is given for luck(or was back then). That was a couple of days before she was taken so cruelly. Rest in peace sweet girl may there be justice for you yet x

So glad to hear that they have finally caught and charged the killers of poor Caroline , I was around the same age as Caroline when she was killed and I remember it being on the news . RIP Caroline glachan . ❤🌹

I remember this as I was around her age at the time she died and live in Scotland. Was her killer never found? I feel her mothers pain so much :(

Going by the ages of those charged for her murder today, it does seem likely to be the other girlfriend and two male friends.
I really hope one was not Caroline’s boyfriend - although if he was 18 then, he would be 42 now - the same age as one of the charged men… 😣
