Great video! Something worth mentioning is that the mob spawner can sometimes just be a treasure bastion, since those have magma cube spawners. Also, if the spawner is at a corner chunk of your render distance and you lower it by one, going one chunk in all four cardinal directions won’t make it show up. You are going to need to check the chunks diagonal to the one you are currently in. :)

thats where my problem comes in, i have laptop so if i do F3+F it will just increase the brightness of the screen so i'm wondering if i can just do it manually by going through the menu cuz i tried and but i think it glitches out cuz when i did it manually first the mob spawner showed up nowhere even with max render distance. so i reset and try again doing it manually but now its suddenly closer than frickin 2 chunks, i was like what in the gods name is going on so if anyone can help me pls do.
@@aonearslan There must be a fn key on your keyboard, just press shift + fn + f3 and you can open the pie chart and I believe you can press fn + esc to switch between function keys(f1, f2, ...) and hotkeys(volume, brightness, ...) on most of the laptops. In your case, you must in the hotkeys mode, so you have to press fn + f3 to use f3, or like I said, you can press fn + esc to change to function keys mode, but that way when you want to increase the brightness, you have to press fn + f3 instead. Ofc none of the two modes is better, it depends on how often you use function keys or hotkeys.
One point you missed in the video is how to reset the pie-chart so it stops detecting rendered entities which is simply shift + F3 twice, but thank you for explaining everything else

For some reason the pi chart won’t reset after I lower the chunks like yours did. Once “mob spawners” are in, even if I lower my Render distance all the way, it won’t go away. The only way to do it is to quit and reload
lowering to 2 chunks and then pressing "f3 + shift" twice to turn it off and back on does a "soft reset" but minecrafts engine will always render stuff within 5 chunks even if you can only see 2 chunks. so as you said the only way to fix this is to quit the world and rejoin. it sucks but you'll only need to do this if the mob spawner is within 5 chunks of you (which it normally won't be)
yeah, you an do that by closing and opening the pie chart again, i'm somewhat of a speedrunner myself with a pb of like 25 mins. i would've never been able to do that if not for the pie chart, also, my pb is 25 min because i don't use stronghold calculator.
INSANELY IMPORTANT NOTE: on some mods on minecraft (sodium or iris i think) pie chart is accessed by f3 + 1, this took me 2 days to figure out. hope this helps edit: this is actually not the mods but the newer versions of minecraft
Sometimes the block entities might also be in the same page as entities but not the page when you select entities, so just hit the number for block entities.
I generally forget liking videos and at first I forgot to like this video too and clicked some another video but I came back to just like this video , this video was THAT GOOD.Very easy to understand and not unnecessary long, thanks for this video.
Something isn’t right for me. The server I play on only allows 8 chunk render distance, so I just roam with the full 8 enabled until I see a chest and then back off the render to 7 in order to find the direction, which I did, but then after traveling about 7 chunks I don’t see the structure, so I back off the render distance to the minimum (2 chunks) and I’m still in range. So I go one direction until the chest drops out. Then I turn around and go back the other direction expecting to see the structure or the chest to drop off again after a couple chunks. I had to go 21 chunks before the chest drops off the other direction. It seems like this method is only narrowing the search to 400 chunks for me, if at all. I never found the chest or structure.
2 years later and some things have changed if anyone was just as confused as I was for re setting the pie chart because I am blind you need to always hit 0 if you want to go back in the pie chart.
@@DamianPagel to go back to the original thing you were on so if you click tick and then level you can press 0 on your keys to go back down to tick and then 0 again to go back to the start of the pie chart

Great video! Ik a lot of people have already asked this, but on new versions the pie chart doesn't refresh when the render distance goes down, and you have to exit and reload the world. This applies even if the spawner is more than 5 chunks away. As of now have there been any ways found to get the pie chart to update when the render distance goes down?

Best use for pie chart is base hunting in my opinion. Many bases has atleast ender chest, enchanting table, painting or item frame which pie chart detects. So even if the base is well hidden underground with no clues that would lead to player activity, you will still find the base.

When the pie chart data says a specific block (e.g. mob spawner) is 23 chunks away from you, does it count diagonally if the item is in a chunk which is diagonal from the chunk you're standing in?
if it is diagonal it's annoying because it will show up at (for example) 23 chunks, but when you lower your render distance to 22 chunks it won't show up in any of the 4 directions. you can still figure out which diagonal direction it is if you have enough experience with pie ray, but it's a niche scenario that you probably won't run into often

you can look on tab to see their skin layer in the same way, you can also use pie raying to find bases that have enchanting tables, shulker boxes, or ender chests (theres some other ones but i cant remember them rn lol) i used this to find a lot of player bases on an anarchy server (one guy even hackusated me lol)

How do you access things with numbers greater than 9? For example, at 2:59 how would you access fpsUpdate?

you have to refresh the pie chart, basically just press shift + f3 twice to turn it on and off.

How do u make ur pie chart smaller when i pull it up a bunch of stuff gets pulled up and i cant find block entitles
If anyone is wondering, press f3+1 to bring up the pie chart, not shift+f3. It drives me insane to the point of total f(cuking batsh(t crazy that a video tutorial for the pie chart is wrong on how to bring up the pie chart

you can look on tab to see their skin layer in the same way, you can also use pie raying to find bases that have enchanting tables, shulker boxes, or ender chests (theres some other ones but i cant remember them rn lol) i used this to find a lot of player bases on an anarchy server (one guy even hackusated me lol)

i have the render distance at 16, and i can see a village tho it doesnt tell me theres any signs of villages (smokers) which i checked and there were smokers there... why is that

OKAY man. I clicked on this video from a different video. When I press f3 OR shift f3, it does the same thing and there is no pie chart. I just wanted to find a burried treasure in 10 seconds like everyone else. Why is it that MY f3 is the f3 that doesnt show a pie chart? Why is everyone else seeing a pie chart when im not? After googling it, you have to press f3+1, not shift f3. This is why I'm insane. What if its on a server that limits your uh chunks being loaded? In my case, its 8.
then you can still scan for things within 8 chunks around you but you’re just limited to those 8 chunks
