Great video! Something worth mentioning is that the mob spawner can sometimes just be a treasure bastion, since those have magma cube spawners. Also, if the spawner is at a corner chunk of your render distance and you lower it by one, going one chunk in all four cardinal directions won’t make it show up. You are going to need to check the chunks diagonal to the one you are currently in. :)

@@TigerMansion Pressing F3 and shift F3 resets the pie chart, if it still doesn’t work, reload the world.

thats where my problem comes in, i have laptop so if i do F3+F it will just increase the brightness of the screen so i'm wondering if i can just do it manually by going through the menu cuz i tried and but i think it glitches out cuz when i did it manually first the mob spawner showed up nowhere even with max render distance. so i reset and try again doing it manually but now its suddenly closer than frickin 2 chunks, i was like what in the gods name is going on so if anyone can help me pls do.
@@aonearslan There must be a fn key on your keyboard, just press shift + fn + f3 and you can open the pie chart and I believe you can press fn + esc to switch between function keys(f1, f2, ...) and hotkeys(volume, brightness, ...) on most of the laptops. In your case, you must in the hotkeys mode, so you have to press fn + f3 to use f3, or like I said, you can press fn + esc to change to function keys mode, but that way when you want to increase the brightness, you have to press fn + f3 instead. Ofc none of the two modes is better, it depends on how often you use function keys or hotkeys.
One point you missed in the video is how to reset the pie-chart so it stops detecting rendered entities which is simply shift + F3 twice, but thank you for explaining everything else
another way of resetting the pie chart is to press the 0 key to go back a selection

For some reason the pi chart won’t reset after I lower the chunks like yours did. Once “mob spawners” are in, even if I lower my Render distance all the way, it won’t go away. The only way to do it is to quit and reload
lowering to 2 chunks and then pressing "f3 + shift" twice to turn it off and back on does a "soft reset" but minecrafts engine will always render stuff within 5 chunks even if you can only see 2 chunks.
so as you said the only way to fix this is to quit the world and rejoin. it sucks but you'll only need to do this if the mob spawner is within 5 chunks of you (which it normally won't be)

yeah, you an do that by closing and opening the pie chart again, i'm somewhat of a speedrunner myself with a pb of like 25 mins. i would've never been able to do that if not for the pie chart, also, my pb is 25 min because i don't use stronghold calculator.

Hey hello i have a question. When i am playing a get many fps drops and those fps drops occure always when tick is on the highest percentage on the pie , do you know why and a solution to this problem?
Something isn’t right for me. The server I play on only allows 8 chunk render distance, so I just roam with the full 8 enabled until I see a chest and then back off the render to 7 in order to find the direction, which I did, but then after traveling about 7 chunks I don’t see the structure, so I back off the render distance to the minimum (2 chunks) and I’m still in range. So I go one direction until the chest drops out. Then I turn around and go back the other direction expecting to see the structure or the chest to drop off again after a couple chunks. I had to go 21 chunks before the chest drops off the other direction.
It seems like this method is only narrowing the search to 400 chunks for me, if at all. I never found the chest or structure.
Bit late but, if i wanna find like bastion i just look for interactable block native only to bastion?

Great video! Ik a lot of people have already asked this, but on new versions the pie chart doesn't refresh when the render distance goes down, and you have to exit and reload the world. This applies even if the spawner is more than 5 chunks away. As of now have there been any ways found to get the pie chart to update when the render distance goes down?

Sometimes the block entities might also be in the same page as entities but not the page when you select entities, so just hit the number for block entities.

any help? Im on 1.17.1 and when I open the pie chart I do root-tick-level, but when I click entities, it is just a list of the mobs around, no option for block entities. If you can help me thank u

Press F3+1. The key combinations sees to have changed. I didn't find the key comb to increase the render distance by one.

Well the f3 + f quite possible that your using your laptop keyboard,so because of that f3 could be like a volume button so you need to press fn + f3 + f

you can look on tab to see their skin layer in the same way, you can also use pie raying to find bases that have enchanting tables, shulker boxes, or ender chests (theres some other ones but i cant remember them rn lol) i used this to find a lot of player bases on an anarchy server (one guy even hackusated me lol)

How do you have the box that can change your render distance? Is it a mod and if so what is the name of it?
I believe that is either the settings menu of sodium or lithium. They are fabric mods that increase performance.
quick question; How would I go into the menu of a name with a two digit number. Ex: My tick is the number 17 but 17 is not a key on my keyboard it is two keys. So how would I trigger tick?

you have to refresh the pie chart, basically just press shift + f3 twice to turn it on and off.

!.18 also doesnt work. you can go up, down, On.. OFF as much as you like, it wont reset :(
When the pie chart data says a specific block (e.g. mob spawner) is 23 chunks away from you, does it count diagonally if the item is in a chunk which is diagonal from the chunk you're standing in?
if it is diagonal it's annoying because it will show up at (for example) 23 chunks, but when you lower your render distance to 22 chunks it won't show up in any of the 4 directions.
you can still figure out which diagonal direction it is if you have enough experience with pie ray, but it's a niche scenario that you probably won't run into often
Hello! I play on a server. They know a lot about f3 pieray here. They make vaults out of barrels that aren't in the diagram. I was wondering if there is a mod that would allow you to add barrels so that you can see them too???

if those block entities are really close to you, opening and closing the pie chart won't refresh it, you have to legitimately exit the world and rejoin for it to refresh (this is only if the block entities are within about 5 chunks or so).
if you're really far away from the chest or mob spawner and this is still happening you might be on the wrong version, this tutorial is mainly for 1.16.1
if you're on the right version there might be some settings you need to change like "entity culling"
if none of that works, idk what to do

Press 0 several times to come back to root. The path you have to follow is : root tick level. Then depending on your version you have entities and block_entities on the same level, or you first have to step into entities.
