Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. With 2020 right around the corner, it is very soon that the high-speed trains who does not have any features that fit with the rail regulations are going to be retired like the East Midlands HST’s with VP185 engines. Therefore, I thought try to get some last shots of the East Midlands Railway HST’s before they get replaced by the HST’s the operator has leased out from LNER until the brand new class 810 replaces them and comes into service in 2022 along with the class 180s they are receiving from Hull Trains. This film featuring the HST’s along with other units at Nottingham railway station proved to be quite interesting because the first of the freights that appeared was perhaps the longest one I’ve ever seen (see it solo in its own video). Hope you all enjoy this and best catch your last HST ride on any of them before they go.
Trains include: East Midlands Railway HST’s, a 222, 158’s & 156’s along with one leased from Scotrail, CrossCountry 170 Turbostars, Northern 158 and DB Cargo 60’s

Proper trains? Wow. Thanks for filming/uploading this. Very rare that anything in this doomed country makes me happy these days. I need to go to that region to do HSTs before they get replaced with that other generic rubbish.

Is there a good way of finding out in advance if an EMR service will be run by an HST? If I want to go down to London, that would be what I'd aim for, but usually they're always class 222s
I'm surprised no has replied to you but to answer your question EMR have got timetables online here-> www.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/sites/default/files/assets/download_ct/20200901/MUKfMWGdASTiTU56Pk2amH3rmF-2buEArxMKwqXwk5A/timetable_1_from_sep_2020_v3.pdf that show if the train will be booked a HST or 222 (subject to last minute set swaps).
Currently at the moment, the only HST services listed that aren't being run as a HST is the DY022 (Angel set) set which is the 1945 Nottingham to London and its 2200 return to Nottingham. There is a mistake that shows a few Corby and Kettering shuttles as HSTs first thing in the morning, they are definitely not HSTs.
Pretty much for HSTs any x:45 (apart from 1945) from Nottingham and their x:34 return to Nottingham. Any train service that goes to or from Leeds is a guaranteed HST due to the units coming to or going from the Neville Hill Depot.

kiwitrains there being replaced, the ones that have the EMR purple livery are staying and the ones with the EMT livery are being replaced, the 158s are staying though, they will be repainted!

Not really rare, theres a few HSTs that go on platform 6.
1B09 0532 Nottingham to St Pancras International
1D66 1904 St Pancras International to Leeds
1D64 1834 St Pancras International to Leeds
1D58 1734 St Pancras International to Nottingham
However there's only two times where there's a HST on both platform 6 and 7 at one time.
1D58 1734 St Pancras International to Nottingham on 6 (arrs NOT at 1922 and departs ECS to Derby at 1958)
1D90 1719 St Pancras International to Derby
on 7 (arrs NOT at 1916 and departs to Derby at 1924 )
and this one is more likely to be on this video given HST on 6 left first and the fact it is an angel set which 1D21/5C52 is the only angel set out on that day that goes on platform 6;
1D23 1034 St Pancras International to Nottingham (arrives at Nottingham at 1213 to depart at 1245 to do return trip to STP)
5C52 1216 Nottingham to Sheffield (would have arrived as 1D21 1005 STP-NOT arriving at 1205 to depart empty to SHF at 1216 [or early depending on signals]).
@@srgntsylveon2919 Incorrect on this occasion as mentioned in the comment in this thread. Only one angel set is out at the moment so given that the angel set is on platform 6, the only diagram on Platform 6 that is an angel set is the 1D21 1005 STP-NOT arriving at 1205 and departing as 5C52 1216 Nottingham to Sheffield (possibly leaving early?) with the 1D23 1034 St Pancras International to Nottingham on 7.
