Far cry 4, Dragon age: inquisition, Shadow of Mordor, and maybe a few more outside of that, but compared to previous years I mentioned the amount of disappointing titles that heavily outweighed the amount of actual good titles was a bit ludicrous. We got watchdogs, Destiny, AC Unity, Sims 4, Elder Scrolls online, Thief, MGS: Ground Zeroes, and so many more. I did play most of these, and I don't see how given my first comment you could come to the conclusion that I hadn't played them. If you like those games that's good for you, but the general consensus is that they're way below what they were expected to be. But where I thought the game innovated a hell of a lot(and NO ONE ever talks about), not just compared to the other CoD games, but first person shooters as a whole, is the campaign. Customization, branching storylines, optional objectives, weapon loadouts, and even an RTS strategy-like approach in certain missions. Plus, the multiplayer wasn't bad at all.

Im constantly waiting for the top 10 best and worst games of the year! He's funny, entertaining, knowledgeable, witty and best of all he dives deep into every aspect of the game. Story, characters, objectives, extras, sound and lighting design, etc. It may come off as being really harsh but I think he means well and is truly trying to make the whole industry better

The funny thing about Guild Wars 2 is, that it was originally planned to be just another expansion. But because they wanted to make everything better and had so many ideas they made it a fully new game. Guild Wars 1 was released in 2005...the first open beta for GW2 was discussed to be in 2008(!). But they took themselfes another 4 years because they were never satisfied by what they did and wanted to implement all the ideas they had. Unfortunatly we had to was 4-5 years for this masterpiece since the first time we heard of it but god....this is how you develop a game with passion! Fuck WoW and their every year same add on with 20 new levels and 5 new raid instances! This game has the heart and the soul of ArenaNet and the awesome Guild Wars community! And still no monthly costs!

Where the hell is Spec Ops: the Line? A game that should have been number one for being a modern shooter that actually humanizes the effects of war. It is a lot like Platoon or Apocalypse Now due to its horrid depiction of war.A game that has made me cry so much due to the various plot revelations and the twist ending. Truly an underrated classic.

MegaCnlSanders now that I've played it i ABSOLUTELY HAVE to give a mention to Hotline Miami as well. Honestly, for me, though it's not as fun a game to play in it's own, i would say it's more of a griping experience then any of these, It really really stands out to me for just for what it's trying to say/do and it's aesthetic and such. Awesome game.

I think Borderlands should be top 3. Definitely MY favorite game of that year. The DLCs and extra chars were awsm too. So glad u had TWD on this list, it's an epic story.
I am currently scripting a game. I already planned out multiplayer game modes and gameplay suitable to all types. But I am really focusing on the campaign. Rather than focusing on enemies, I am drawing my attention towards character development and their reactions with each other as the war progresses. And I decided to scrap regen health. And the co-op is going to be incredibly complicated to build but not play. I am not going to reveal why, but hopefully one day it will get release and I can see a review on this channel. Good or bad I don't care, at least I'd be getting publicity.
Interesting fact about Dishonored: The visual design of the game (the unique city of Dunwall, the atmosphere of the game) is made by a bulgarian named Viktor Antonov. So bulgarians be proud of you.
I prefer the first 2-3 hours of far cry 3 when you have to hunt and take over settlements and get the towers makes the game feel huge compared to the end when you can just fast travel everywhere
Planetside 2 seems disappointing to Planetside 1 vets, I miss the old large plains where tanks battled for hours, with no pesky AT turrets and tanks as cheap as butter.
I need to get Far Cry 3. I'm just "patiently" waiting for my computer parts to be sent out to me so I can have a good gaming PC. I used to be all for Xbox. I love consoles. But I stopped buying games for it as my parents own the system and I feel I have no right to it once I move out. So I am switching over to PC gaming. My laptop now can handle playing guild wars and mass effect. But it can't handle much more than that. Skyrim barely runs smoothly, tomb raider won't even run. I'm amazed I can play the new DmC. So I'm just waiting for my computer parts to come to me and to build my first rig. Can't wait. Also. Xcom enemy unknown? I didn't care much for the game. Of course, I hate strategic games. But this list is based on opinion and I respect joes. Aw well. I think I'll sell my copy as I don't play it and even when I do, it just isn't my type of game.
Have fun with it man, it's by far my favorite of the many games I've played. It's the most I've ever been emotionally attached to a game, hence why a tear came to my eye at 24:36, one of the many moments in the game where it just tears you to shreds internally. Not to mention how incredible the soundtrack is.

It’s 2019 and Far Cry 3 is still the greatest game I’ve ever played. I remember getting it day one wayyy back and had so much fun. I just recently re played the campaign for the about 15th time. That’s the only game I’ll ever go back and play and enjoy every second of it.

Josh Longley That's what it was. Skyrim (And The TES series in general) might be the most overrated piece of media in history. Most of the fans of the game are idiots who barely know what a fucking RPG is, but they still don't hesitate to call it the "best RPG ever made". People just have boners for open world games even though usually open worlds are nothing but game padding. And that's definitely the case with The Elder Scrolls games because Bethesda couldn't write a captivating plot for their games to save their lives. Or develop a good combat system.

Gigaw4ttz Saying they did a good job is crazy. Jesus, the game was damn near unplayable when it came out with all the fucking glitches and bugs that Bethesda are known for. Especially on consoles. People were touching WATER and their saves files getting corrupted. And let's not even get into the technical issues and design problems of the game, like the broken and "consolized" menus that turn the simple action of equipping and unequipping spells into a fucking ordeal. I'm not saying it's terrible, you can enjoy it for a few hours, but it's FAR from being good. It's certainly not deserving of the 10 out 10 Joe gave it. The Witcher games,for example, are way more immersive and interesting, storyline-wise at least, and he gave the second installment a score of 8. I guarantee you The Witcher 3 will kick the dogshit out of Skyrim and the next Elder Scrolls title. CDProject actually know how to develop RPGs.
+That Guy Don't get me wrong. Far Cry 3 is a fun game. But the gameplay got old really quickly, I hated the main character, the other characters were really bland and forgettable, and Vaas didn't have enough screen time. Mass Effect 3 had great gameplay, characters that you can easily get invested in, an epic story, and had the most emotional writing in the entire series. I laughed at the jokes, I cried at the sad parts, and the villains pissed me off. Everything great writing should do to you during a good story.
By Joe's standards its not he prefers gameplay to story and Farcry 3 has quite a variety of gameplay. He also prefers open worlds and non generic Fps games.
Some people still talk about Sleeping Dogs but ı didn't like it as much as others did,it was a good game but toxic fanbase of the game made me hate it.Agree about Far Cry 3,one of the best FPS open world games of all time.

Both are great games. For 2012 I think that guild wars 2 was the better even though it quickly became boring.. But far cry 3 was also really great.
I am currently scripting a game. I already planned out multiplayer game modes and gameplay suitable to all types. But I am really focusing on the campaign. Rather than focusing on enemies, I am drawing my attention towards character development and their reactions with each other as the war progresses. And I decided to scrap regen health. And the co-op is going to be incredibly complicated to build but not play. I am not going to reveal why, but hopefully one day it will get release and I can see a review on this channel. Good or bad I don't care, at least I'd be getting publicity.

I need to get Far Cry 3. I'm just "patiently" waiting for my computer parts to be sent out to me so I can have a good gaming PC. I used to be all for Xbox. I love consoles. But I stopped buying games for it as my parents own the system and I feel I have no right to it once I move out. So I am switching over to PC gaming. My laptop now can handle playing guild wars and mass effect. But it can't handle much more than that. Skyrim barely runs smoothly, tomb raider won't even run. I'm amazed I can play the new DmC. So I'm just waiting for my computer parts to come to me and to build my first rig. Can't wait.
Also. Xcom enemy unknown? I didn't care much for the game. Of course, I hate strategic games. But this list is based on opinion and I respect joes. Aw well. I think I'll sell my copy as I don't play it and even when I do, it just isn't my type of game.
Have fun with it man, it's by far my favorite of the many games I've played. It's the most I've ever been emotionally attached to a game, hence why a tear came to my eye at 24:36, one of the many moments in the game where it just tears you to shreds internally. Not to mention how incredible the soundtrack is.

It’s 2019 and Far Cry 3 is still the greatest game I’ve ever played. I remember getting it day one wayyy back and had so much fun. I just recently re played the campaign for the about 15th time. That’s the only game I’ll ever go back and play and enjoy every second of it.
borderlands 2 should be on here because of how improved it was over the first one and the story, guns, characters, and bosses were amazing!

Josh Longley That's what it was. Skyrim (And The TES series in general) might be the most overrated piece of media in history. Most of the fans of the game are idiots who barely know what a fucking RPG is, but they still don't hesitate to call it the "best RPG ever made". People just have boners for open world games even though usually open worlds are nothing but game padding. And that's definitely the case with The Elder Scrolls games because Bethesda couldn't write a captivating plot for their games to save their lives. Or develop a good combat system.
Trug0d You can't say it's a terrible game though. Sure, it may not be the game that everyone will enjoy to the fullest extent, but saying that Bethesda couldn't or wouldn't do a good job on the game is just crazy to say. I will have to agree that it is far from the "best RPG ever" though.
Gigaw4ttz Saying they did a good job is crazy. Jesus, the game was damn near unplayable when it came out with all the fucking glitches and bugs that Bethesda are known for. Especially on consoles. People were touching WATER and their saves files getting corrupted. And let's not even get into the technical issues and design problems of the game, like the broken and "consolized" menus that turn the simple action of equipping and unequipping spells into a fucking ordeal. I'm not saying it's terrible, you can enjoy it for a few hours, but it's FAR from being good. It's certainly not deserving of the 10 out 10 Joe gave it. The Witcher games,for example, are way more immersive and interesting, storyline-wise at least, and he gave the second installment a score of 8. I guarantee you The Witcher 3 will kick the dogshit out of Skyrim and the next Elder Scrolls title. CDProject actually know how to develop RPGs.

But the gameplay got old really quickly, I hated the main character, the other characters were really bland and forgettable, and Vaas didn't have enough screen time. Mass Effect 3 had great gameplay, characters that you can easily get invested in, an epic story, and had the most emotional writing in the entire series. I laughed at the jokes, I cried at the sad parts, and the villains pissed me off. Everything great writing should do to you during a good story.
By Joe's standards its not he prefers gameplay to story and Farcry 3 has quite a variety of gameplay. He also prefers open worlds and non generic Fps games.
