The Big Catch is The BEST Upcoming 3D Platformer this Year

- This is the last demo I'm covering, Today I tried The Big Catch!
I'm not going to lie, The Big Catch like every other demo I've played recently caught me off guard with its sheer quality! It seriously brings me back to the golden age of console platformers (PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast era). Usually, when a 3D platformer is good they have something in common, that is they all have good/slick movement and The Big Catch is insane in that regard. I don't really understand what's happening half of the time but having the ability to wall run, rail grind, and use your fishing rod to propel yourself forward insanely quickly seems like a recipe for success to me.
Thanks for putting up with the handful of quick demo videos I've been doing, it was a ton of fun trying out these amazing upcoming indies.
We truly live in one of the greatest eras for indie gaming...

This demo made the full game my most anticipated one, It was so good
The demo is an standalone game, no area’s from it will return in the full release, they basically released a free 3D platformer as appetizer.
Also everything is accessible no upgrades needed 😊

My first playthrough of this game was 7 hours long. I’ve logged 24 hours of playtime in it now and I’m not even doing the whole speedrunner thing it’s just that fun, new special interest unlocked
releasing a demo was 100% the right move i wouldn't have known about an otherwise amazing game
Finally, a viral game will be something with HEART
Supposedly there is 8 hours of content in this "Demo" so with my platforming abilities it'll take me like 50.
This game visually looks a lot like Rayman 2/3 to me

Seconding Furi and also tagging Hyper Light Drifter. Both ostensibly "Souls-adjacent" games but they feel infinitely more fair, despite their incredible difficulty. Both also have incredible stories for being so short, and I can't stress enough, if you love the difficulty curve of The Big Catch, both will feel absolutely perfect.
