    Thanks so much for the tour! You have a great collection and I liked the simplicity of your tank set ups. I think I'm going to follow your builds and just keep it simple. I tried making multiple custom backgrounds and I have been unsatisfied with the results so I will go in a new direction. Thanks again!

    Hey, I recently got a atelopus hoogmoedi. And I was wondering is it normal for them to sit still all the time, and only really move around to hunt?

    Beautiful tanks and beautiful frogs
    I have decided I’m going to have varaderos to start my introduction in to egg feeders and I love the colors and boldness of them do you have any tips on how to reproduce them and best kind of setups for them thanks.

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety +1

      Veradero Imitators or Fantastica? Both are amazing frogs! I would suggest getting a group of at least 3 frogs as that increases boldness. They feel more comfortable when there are more frogs. Definitely provide them with plenty of wood to climb on and numerous bromeliads to hide and breed in! I would also suggest placing black film canisters inside the terrarium (both suctioned to the walls and on the ground for egg laying and tadpole tending. The more hiding spaces you provide them, the more safe and comfortable they will feel (thus increasing boldness). Best of Luck!

    • @lucasfuller2698
      @lucasfuller2698 Před 3 lety

      @@bryandarts imitator as I have read that these are more bold than fantástica.

  • @sabregaming2611
    @sabregaming2611 Před 3 lety

    How do you mount your bromeliads? Love your style of tanks with a piece of wood as the centerpiece👍

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you so much for the kind words. We use a power drill to drill holes directly into the wood for the bromeliad stem to fit snug inside. The bromeliad will remain snug and begin to root outside of the hole.

    Great terrariums! It looks like you mist by hand - have you ever thought of getting a Mistking?

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety +1

      We do mist by hand, but have considered a mist king system. We don't currently have an RO system or the space to house water barrels to support our collections size so that is why we haven't implemented a mist king yet. I would love one though! They are amazing!

    Nice tanks. Hey did you ever find out what that red fern is at 8:50. It is a really beautiful plant. Would like to get it

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety

      Hi there! The red fern is a Pteris quadriaurita 'Tricolor' and it is currently available at Black Jungle Terrarium Supply (my source for terrarium plants and supplies!). The fern does great in bright light and can get brown and visually unappealing in darker terrariums.

  • @brianvelasquez

    name of the red fern at 8:28?

  • @lucasfuller2698

    Sorry I cant make my mind up do you think it’s a to big of a step for me to get a pair of bastimentos, I have a breeding pair of tinctorius nominat and a young probable pair of tumucumaque, I was thinking on getting a pair of bastimentos as the difference between these and the imitator varadero aren’t that many except for the boldness and the difficulty of getting the offsprings to live.
    Thanks for the info and might have more question😜

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety

      I think Pumilio would be a great choice for your next frog. The breeding is easy! They do all the work for you as long as you keep them happy with vivarium design and supplementation!

  • @duwwi1978
    @duwwi1978 Před 3 lety +1

    Is that moss at the back of the vivarium 15:35 ?

    • @bryandarts
      @bryandarts  Před 3 lety

      Yes it is. It is totally natural and not planted. The moss grew naturally right on the cork bark background.

    Love anyone who out Noahs me. Who loves ya!? I think I may have ordered some Viet Namese Mossy [Godsilla] frogs from you like ten years ago. Not sure.
    The only frogs I keep now are outside. I put guppies in small ponds to keep down the mosquitos, but have spring peepers singing right now, soon to have Gray TreeFrogs , among at least three other species. I live in this subdivision on the edge of woods and it is so depressing to watch these morons poison their lawns to keep 'em green. 6 months a year. What you are doing is very important. Get some Lygodactylus williamsi, they'll live athe top of a larger cage.

    • @bryandarts

      Thank you so much! I love Lygodactylus williamsi! I've never kept those little blue lizards before, but have always wanted to try!
