I have the Mickey ears, I have the shirt, I was in the play, I have the original film script book, I saw it on Broadway, I have the stuffies, I know every single word to every single song. When I heard they were making I live action I didn’t know how to feel. I grew up watching the original ALL THE TIME. when I saw the trailer my heart dropped. Ariel is such a sentimental character to me, and to see her look completely different hits me hard. Halle Bailey ( I think that’s how you spell it, sorry if not ) is absolutely beautiful don’t get me wrong, shes just, you know, not Ariel. I know it’s very inspirational to young girls of that race to see Ariel that way, but it’s just not the same. I would love to see a new black princess, but not in this way. these stories are classics, we need to keep them that way.
