    I just replaced my 08 xlt driver's seat foam and cover. Remove the seat with the seat all the way up and more important with the seat forward. If the seat is all the way back getting to the front pan bolts is difficult. I did not have to disconnect any electrical. Just removed the pan bolts pulled the seat loose from the frame, took a picture of how and where the wiring is hung from the pan and pulled the Christmas trees wire hangers. The whole job from removing the seat to reinstalling the seat took less than an hour

    Great quality products and helpful video!
    Replaced the driver's side vinyl seat cover and foam on my 2006 F150. Helpful tips: There is no need to remove the seat from the truck simply unbolt the tracks from the floor and lean it back to remove the bottom frame. No need to disconnect any electrical connectors just release the clips holding the wires to the bottom of the frame and remove only the bottom frame/foam/cover assembly. No need to remove the old cover from the old foam if you are replacing the foam just remove the 2 hog rings attaching the old foam to the frame and release the cover from the frame then remove the cover and foam together. Note the new foam does not have the bottom rail to attach the foam to the frame like the original does. When installing the new parts It is much easier to install the 2 forward hog rings on the sides first before installing the hog rings for the front row instead of how it was done in the video at 14:49. Don't bother trying to bring back 15 year old foam with a steamer replace the foam with a new one, the old foam will never last as long as the new cover you're installing especially on the driver's side.

    My 2008 F150 Lariat has 15mm bolts holding the chair in the truck, not torx. My new foam didn't have the bottom bar for attaching to the seat pan, so I hope the clips on the cover it all in place. I can see where the entire chair wouldn't need to come out (by flipping it back and just unbolting the seat pan) but mine had several clips for wires so it was definitely easier to have it all out. Great video. Glad I found it. Keep up the good work. Added hognose pliers to my tool collection.

    Good video and the finished assembled seat cover and foam seat which I bought from The SeatShop fit perfectly and looked brand new. I would first check which size torx socket to use because not all Ford F150 models use a Torx 55 (mine used a T50, which necessitated an extra trip to the store). Also, make sure you use a torx socket, as shown, not an torx "L" shaped bar because sometimes, as on my truck, a couple of the torx bolts holding the seat to the truck were so tight I needed a breaker bar. The rest of the installation went well. The hog pliers can be tricky if you aren't aware that you need to hold the hog ring in the pliers by squeezing the hog pliers a bit when trying to put in the hog rings, or the rings will just fly out of the pliers. Also, be aware that the two plastic plugs that held the old seat cover to the metal on one side do not come with the new seat cover -- they will have to be reused or replaced.

    You are correct, we only had a passenger side seat at our warehouse. The installation will be the same for the drivers side, and since most of our customers are replacing the drivers bottom, that is why we titled the video as such so it will be easier to find.

      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety

      Christopher, We have used Scrubbing Bubbles for around 12 years now and it does work wonders on cleaning years of grime off of seats. However if the seat cover has been re-dyed any time in the past, the scrubbing bubbles can pull the dye off the seat. We have not experienced the factory finish and dye coming off using Scubbing Bubbles. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Give us a call and we'll do whatever we can to help ya come up with a solution to fix your problem! 214-710-2565 or email us at sales@theseatshop.com and we'll be happy to help any way we can.

    If my foam is starting to get a little worn on that drivers left side (leather covered), can I run a steamer on it while it's in the truck to puff it back up or will that not work?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety

      Hey, Rob thanks for the question, this could be done if you had the cloth covers since they are porous but since leather and vinyl are not you will have to take your covers off to try and steam your foam. We don't know what your cushions condition looks like but usually when the foam has been worn down significantly your choices will be to repair or replace your cushion. If you would like to know more about our foam cushions please let us know what Year/Make/Model to better help you out, either way, hope this helps!

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Feyteen thanks for the comment, OEM factory seats will most likely be a combo of leather and vinyl, we say this since we rarely see a seat that is made with all leather other than the King Ranch Leather. The reason the factory makes them with leather where you sit and vinyl on the sides is that it helps with the installation since leather does not stretch. So that is why the All Leather is going to be an upgrade since no vinyl will be used when we make your seat covers
