Baby come back! And by "baby" I don't mean baby Pokémon. Although baby Pokémon can come back too, that's fine.

i still cant believe that Pokemon companions is not in every single game. it is one of the few features that every body loves,
A None Progressive Parrot like even if they just limited it to the starters and maybe some legendary pokemans.
Sir Science in all honesty if they are worried about performance issues then they could just make it so when you are in a large in game city (the most demanding areas) you cant have them out. they could even give you a fun reason why like (keep are city's clean of poke poop keep your Pokemon in their poke balls at all times while in the city.)
but like i said pokemon companions are not that much of a performance issue. a case could be made for sun and moon but for x, y, omega, and alpha, their is really no reason not to have the feature. and when the next handheld is released their will be no reason to not have it again.
A None Progressive Parrot Probably for hardware reasons. It was possible when they just used sprites for everything, but 3d models probably take up too much space.
A None Progressive Parrot *I
supershadow957 yes you!
being able to name your rival
"Oh I remember now his name is DICKS." Professer Oak.
The professors aren't old or nowone actually knows who the rival is and they are smart enough to remember their own name
@@curlminion so basically the gen 2 rival, who you were still able to name.
I miss naming my rival
You mean naming Assfart?
Honorable mention to gen 4's underground tunnels and their respective mini games.
And the Dexnav
ikr
I personally think the vs seeker is quite underrated.
The option to re-battle any previous trainer (routes) is a lot of fun.
Would even be better combined with the rematch system of oras we're they actually grow allong side the player.
I still don't get why they can't just revamp the Game Corner as a regular arcade. Fill it with minigames like Skee-ball and Voltorb Flip, and whatever other minigames would be possible on the platform.
I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but if they make more remakes, I'd love to see a return of that feature from LeafGreen/FireRed, that was just random information about the different characters. NPCs would tell you random things about the important characters, and in certain conditions you could run into the important characters in places. Like there's one NPC who talks about Lance going to the Celadon Department Store to buy capes a lot. I really liked that feature, it was fun.
Man, I agree with both of these!
hah, maybe they can even put old emulated games on there. imagine a sprite swap of mario where he's a pikachu, and when getting a thunderstone he becomes raichu, and can shoot lightning.
imagine playing legend of zelda, everything is the same but you play as a Riolu.
they don't take up much space, it'd be cool.
Because then you can have it be like Ocarina of Time to have both Child Link (Riolu) and Adult Link (Lucario).
And in Majora's Mask you can have fierce deity link! (Mega Lucario)
Also I figured I could mention that in the first game there were three tunics, each increasing in strength, which seems a reasonable use of Riolu, Lucario, And Mega Lucario.
Game Corner music is my muse.
What I think a new rival should be like is a friendly person at the beginning but then after losing to you he has a mental breakdown and joins a villain team or just becomes more passive agressive. Then just stops being friendly at all and just hates your guts.
Oh my gosh, that'd be a really cool turn of events!...Pokemon Team, make it happen :u
p.s bonus points if there's a redemption arc for them at the end after your final battle
***** Nice, I'll try it. c:
? Pokey
- Charlie - It's from mario
Inazuma Pyrax p
i miss the underground from pearl diamond and platnum
Holy crap, I completely forgot about those.
As I read your comment, a flood of memories came back to be about how I spent hours in the underground! I haven't thought about that in years!
I'm kind of speechless right now because I completely forgot all about it but I just remember how much fun it was.
good times I hope when diamond and pearl remakes come out we get the underground back
Dude it's diamond, pearl and platinum not pearl, diamond and platinum -_-
Yes I want the underground and the secret bases back and the soar feature back
Actually, having your rival be a member of the villain team would be a great idea!
Yeah! Also imagine; either they don't start out in the villain team and join after you keep beating them, or they DO start out in the villain team and then eventually join you (against whatever big bad happens in that game). So many possibilities!
Gladion people!!
Poké-Bob1000 Hm. ur right! He's technically a team skull admin (or 'enforcer' lol) and Hau's our rival, but that's basically the story! :0
+Kat M tru Execpt gladion is a bad character
Ise no Kami Gladion?
does anyone else want the mining from diamond/pearl back
YES
Who doesn't? Not only did the underground offer a form of secret bases with competitive flag stealing, but they also had cool traps you could lay to throw the other players off guard. Mining there was the best!
I really like the tunneling in d/p/pt
Platinum was my first game but I had lots of memories and side playing with my sister but no friends and by the time I got internet they turned off the servers ):
bioerror They will most likely bring it back with Sinnoh remakes :P
10- Nope
9- Nope
8- Nope
7- No HMs but we didn't get Soaring. A Charizard just uses fly.
6- Do you count Gladion as a rival?
5- Nope
4- You can defend your champion title against different characters and battle Red or Blue before challenging the BattleTree but, does that count?
3- There's the Beast Ball.
2- Do you like the Battle Tree?
1- Nope. Why, Game Freak, why?!
It can't possibly get worse.
Narrator: It definitely could get worse
Gen 8 update:
10.- Underground Bases came back in BDSP, not the same but it´s something.
9.- Safari Zone isn't back, and they even removed the Great Marsh in the Sinnoh remakes, what a shame...
8.- Never came back
7.- The closest thing we got is flying in Braviary in Legends Arceus, which i think is good enough.
6.- Bede... well...he tries.
5.- Definitely not.
4.- Legends Arceus final battle against Giratina could easily be a contender for most epic battle on the whole franchise, bravo! And let's not forget to mention Ultra Necrozma...
3.- Legends Arceus introduced a decent amount of new Pokeballs which work wonders for the game, well done.
2.- Oh, gosh, no. No, no, no...
1.- They actually listened us this time! Pokemon walk alongside you in the Sword and Shield DLCs (poorly programmed but they do it) and this kept on for BDSP with all 493 Pokemon. Let´s see if they keep up in 9 Gen.
I'm a tad disappointed to see the feature of finding orbs, stones and fossils in the walls of that maze like underground in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum wan't mentioned. It was fun I found to go hunting for everything, and having to grow the orbs to buy cooler stuff for your base was unique and better then just buying it normally I found. It also made it a tad easier to get evolution stones.
Just me probably.
No, I spent so much time hunting for things I wanted in that game as a kid (It was my very first one!) too.
***** Yeah but you just send them out, rather then actually running around yourself and hunting for the glittering spots and tap tap tapping away trying to find the gems before the wall collapsed.
Just isn't the same.
Katherine A. Karma yes
Katherine A. Karma just buy em
My first find was a shiny Cranidos 😎😎
I wish they added companions I want popplio following me
PokéMasterSiân13 Yes. YES. YES!
Pokémonsian13 Any pokemon really, but maybe it's the a-bit-too-big problem with some mons or maybe the 3DS series' of handheld is just not strong enough to handle all those mons as overworld item, a resized battle model is okay for me, but maybe not by gf's standard
Me too! It would have been great!
I'd like to be able to travel around outside the PokeBall in the games with you, as well. I don't have a PokeBall in the real world, where I live. My trainer is working on that.
Didn’t someone find walking animations for all Pokemon in the games (Sun Moon US UM)? Implying that it is technically feasible?
Personally, I hate how the game ends when your pokemon are at like level 60-70. I want a game where they take you all the way to the top. it would make leveling your guys in the post game less stupid. just fight the elite 4. each of them with 5 level 90s, and the champion at 6 level 100s.
I'd have to say that I'd agree but in hgss if you complete the whole game (to red and the the battle frontier) your pokemon should be around lvl 90
Six level 100s? That's hardcore
@@theguywhoisaustralian1465 they're the champ and the game could provide enough content to drag you all the way up there.
Turns out were actually the rival in sun and moon, think about it we get our starter first, we pick the starter that's stronger, we clear the trails before Hau, and we also become champion before Hau.
Moustache Man it's just like red and blue all over again XD
Also we are smiling all the time even when people are dying and our family friendly Hau is sad
How heartless is Sun/Moon???
Hau?
We always get our starters first
Well, No. 4 did come true, in the Battle Tree, but while it's not necessarily "epic" is fun to battle Red, Blue and other important trainers
There must be dozens saying it already but I'll say it again: I want the National Dex to return
At least your starter following you outside of pokeball would be nice for the new generetions
*Cough* Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee* cough*
I would settle for the customizable player sprite from X and Y.
I was too old to care about Pokemon when they first hit the scene over 20 years ago but my kids are 7 & 8 now and they were interested in Pokemon last year. So I figured I'd learn the card game so I could teach them and play with them and I've actually gotten more into it than them now. But we all collect cards and play the TCG and online TCG. And for their birthdays I got them each a 3ds and some of the games. I told them I had never played any so we'd have to figure them out together or maybe even they'd have to figure some things out on their own. They were stuck very early in Sun, Omega Ruby, and X. I told them it was a puzzle for one part... capturing a guys Furfrou. And he couldn't get to a place and I told him he had to figure out how to move a Snorlax. And so on. Then there was a part with some trees and rocks and I told them they had to get a Pokemon to learn cut and rock smash. Which brings me to the part where you said they should get rid of TMs. I agree because I think my son used a TM he didn't need to and replaced his Charizards wing attack move with cut. I had already taught cut to one of his other Pokemon and I think wing attack was a pretty good move he got rid of. I tried telling them that when their Pokemon are learning new moves to make sure the move it's replacing isn't better.
Agreed. Especially for younger players, HMs can be a bit confusing. Also, I don't understand why some HMs are such poor moves in general, Cut and Flash and Rocksmash are just bad. Whirpool when it was still an HM was more than useless Rock-Climb is more or less ok, Strength is a decent move Fly is also ok Surf is a great move.
I mean, we got Beast Balls. Do they count?
Luke Fletcher Do DEZ NUTZ count!?
HAHA
GOOOOOT'EM
Moon ball?
Jonas Leon Guerrero We've had that before. That was Gen 2 I believe, maybe Gen 3.
yes, they do
Luke Fletcher I ment I saw them in the game
I wanna just name my rival Buttfart
In Pokémon heart gold I named my rival “stupid”
Wait a minute there was a jelly donut in that pokeball
Ro Li its called onigiri it basically a rice ball
Ro Li it's a joke about how in one poorly dubbed episode of the anime Brock calls what are clearly rice balls, jelly filled donuts.
I want every main series Pokémon game to have the National Dex, an adaptation of Amie/Refresh, and letting a Pokémon of your choosing follow you in the overworld. All three really make you feel like they’re your friends and companions, which is not only an easy way to reward and cheer up players, but it also fits the main point Pokémon was created; to share the happiness of collecting living things. Adaptations of the Poké Pleago would be nice too, as a way to bond with Pokémon you don’t use very often or don’t have space in your party for.
The watch from diamond, pearl and platin.
That and the underground
That, that, and customizable pokeballs.
[ valent ] yes but it wasnt on dpp tho
Kelly Johana
Also giving you the entire map of the Sinnoh region while pinpointing your location and letting you know where your berries had grown. That's my personal favorite pokeapp on the watch.
for the last one, maby they can do only the game's starter pokemon, doing 9 pokemon basicaly everyone has in their no 1 slot is beter that doing 800+ when most people will only have the starters.
They should make a Pokémon game with a complete character customization thing to make your own character and choose your own age as well and maybe even make your own house and choose to join an evil team or become a gym leader or elite four member and lots of other things so we can have more fun with the game as well as with new Pokémon
YoruNeko Meow Agreed! And you should be able to choose how old the character is. It isn't that fun to play as a 10 year older old all the time, it doesn't feel very serious. I want to be able to play as a 15 year old at least.
Marcus Abrahamson yep I know or if your an old person you could play as one or if your younger you could play as a child or young adult
YoruNeko Meow this!!! i wud pick veteran for example.. Pokemon has been around for so long, lots of the early days fans are almost or above 30 now hahaha.. like imagine a character customization where the intro wud be diffirent also.. so 10 yrs old just starting out.. veteran comes from another region to take on challenges in this one.. but promises to catch and train new pokemon... and so on
I played that gambling game A LOT. There probably shouldn't have been straight-up gambling in a kid's game :p
theMoporter it was only slots though
grim wolf Slots are gambling dude
just like loot boxes
7:09 and I swear the AI cheats. Me: well finally someone who knows!
I kinda liked the musicals in black and white, the costumes where so cute. :3
Holton Smith same
Number 11
Having all the pokemon in the same game.
5:23 XDs ending Colosseum’s... kinda? the Delta episode in ORAS the list kinda goes on
I want medals back from pokemon Black and White 2.
They are, sort of, as you need to connect to the PGL
Now that Gen 8 has been a thing for about a year, let's see how many features actually did come back.
- Unfortunately, no Secret Bases
- I guess you can count Raids as a game
- No Radio
- Not really soaring, but we did get rid of HMs and we're able to fly on Ride Pokemon like Charizard and the Flying taxi Corviknight
- Maybe Gladion or Bede can be considered jerky rivals, more so Bede
- No gambling
- Maybe you can tie in Kukui in SM and Hau from USUM
- We got the Beast Ball in SM
- Unfortunately, no Battle Frontier, unless you count the Battle Tree and Battle Tower
- Pokemon companion returned for Let's Go and the SWSH Isle of Armor DLC
It's good to see that we got some of these features back.
"10 Pokémon content producers I want back"
Jwittz.
"The ever important evolution stones" *shows everstone, something that prevents evolution*
5:00 Personally, I really liked the Voltorb Flip game; you could practice it and work on getting better without losing any coins, the worst case scenario being that you win nothing. I think they should have just put it in the Game Corner in place of the roulette and the slots instead of shutting the whole thing down.
So happy HMs don't exist.
I actually really liked HMs
Surf and Fly were such great moves for regular battling that it was better to have them as required HMs in Gen 4 because you could teach an unlimited amount of Pokemon moves with 90 power. Also, Leftovers+Fly=More HP recovery. But don't use Fly when you're burned or poisoned.
Surf, Fly, and Waterfall are tms what what
Some of the HMs were fine, like Surf and Fly. I only wished it would be possible to delete HM moves without the need for a move deleter since HMs never deplete.
Hm’s were awesome!
Well Jwittz you got your wish regarding:
1. The no HMs. But too bad their is no soaring.
2. New Pokeballs
there*
You did get some of those features. Gladion isn't a friendly rival, but still a likable character. And we did get an intense final battle. Battling Kukui with the view of the Alola region with that epic music to become the first champion was awesome.
4:27 yup he a monster who try to steal your champion status.
“....I’ll wait til gen 8.”
And now we have Hop.
And Bede, Avery and Klara
Wouldn't it be amazing if all 10 of these features were in Gen 8????? 8x^O (if we ever have Gen 8 I mean)
Your Boy Guzma nope, we got ULTRA sun, and ULTRA moon, coz you know, more money
I dont think that Nintendo will ever stop making Pokemon untill there are many players
Umm what are you talking about??? Gen 8 is basically confirmed now :3
Golden lotus What do you mean?
Sorry it was for "Your boy Guzma" you and I made the same point xD
I wish CZcams specified who we were talking to again
Annnd all of these are absent
Technically we do have a 'competitive' rival in the form of Gladion and they did remove ALL the HMs like he wanted. Also does Professor Kukui count as a 'proper' final boss?
Pretty sure the Red/Blue fight count as a final boss.
We got no hms new pokeball competitive rival and a final boss
"Soaring" and the removal of HM's is kind of in the game what with the ride pager
+Russell Cheng kukui was a good battle but not as hard as totem battles guzma lusamine and even the elite 4 was harder
That freaking steven boss was so epic ~ !
pokemon musical was fun and im a guy!
I just noticed that every time it says "Number 10", "Number 9" etc, you're holding a different kind of ball, and it corresponds to your favourite Pokeball list.
Mind blown
I'm so upset that you can't have your Pokemon follow you anymore
Black and White 2 really got the shaft in this video. The battle tower in BW2 (The Black Skyscraper or The White Tree Hallow) was amazing. Plus, you get a free shiny at the end for beating Banjirou!
Also, the ability to call NPCs and talk with them about current story beats or where you are was so entertaining.
The thing is Barry is a good rival...
He's hilarious and has a lot of personality.
8:14 Ridley would like to have a word with you, Wittz.
I found this video as I finished writing my script for a similar project, but more like new features, maybe inspired by other Pokemon things, like games and the TCG.
I'm surprised going back to past generations wasn't on this list :P
I LOVED going to this musical thing in black and white as a little kid😍
I just loved it
I miss a few of the diamond pearl platinum features. as you named, the customisation of pokeballs, including catching unknowns to unlock that letter was a cool feature. the underground maze and secret bases were cool in my opinion and it gave you mining which I thought was a pretty cool way to get evolution stones and other items :)
5:41 well spoiler alert you got one not just a hardest pokemon trailer but a pokemon-human hybrid.
It still wasn't epic though. All it did was basically heal her pokemon. We should have fought HER. SHE should have been the opponent. Like, what if she had the health worth 6 pokemon? The stats worth 6 pokemon? That would have been so much better! SO MUCH COOLER! They ruined the whole point of it. What was the point of her fusing if it literally didn't do ANYTHING?
Lusamine, I choose you
Barry is competitive af
so that's why I encountered a sleeping in shiny gligar in pokemon gold poke lullaby
If you consider Gladion a rival, then you have a jerky rival in sun and moon for most of the game. Also, you have the battle tree where you fight red/blue, which I would count as the battle frontier and the final battle. Yay! Some of your wishes were granted 😁
I think a cool new feature should be the sprites showing up shiny. Like, a Pokémon's sprite won't show up shiny, even if the Pokémon is shiny. I just think it would be really cool.
whywould you hate on us
the music you used for professor oak's pokemon talk was actually the the lucky channel music trust me i played the living crap out of gen 2 when i was 4 years old until the day i got my first ever phone
Pokeball seals.
I love those sparkly little things.
Ive always loved the Contests and the underground of Pearl and Diamond, if they ever do a remake of them, hopefully soon, they should, at least in my opinion, bring those stuff back
The Pokémon that follow thing are freakin awsome
Gladion is a true competitive rival
At least I think he is a rival.
red on Mount Silver was probably the most frustrating battle I ever had. I just about threw my Gameboy Color across the room multiple times
I loved super bases but with stuff to put in. Also changing clothes of Pokemon and characters with every outfit from every game would be cool. Also radio more station because Oaks channel was the GOAT also when companions they can just do like normal sized Pikachu's and others small Pokemon
Pokelathon for sure needs to come back, it was so much fun in HG/SS
number 1 would have happened in sun n moon as they had walking and running animations for all the pokemon but due to the hardware limitations of the 3ds we didnt get it who knows with the switch out ;)
M8 for your number one feature... Pokemon let's go got your back homie.
also Pokémon contests, they were super fun! at least in the anime hahah
Another one I'd love to see, though it will probably never happen, is being able to go to multiple regions like Gen 2 did with Kanto.
By the time of Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon:
10 - We have the festival plaza. It sucks, but it's something.
9 - I guess we have the Ultra Warp Ride now. Does that count?
8 - Nope, nonexistent in these. You can still watch tv though.
7 - We got Charizard in the Ride Pager, closest we have. Too bad it wasn't reused.
6 - Eventually Hau becomes a lot stronger, and serious too. It's nice to see him try harder.
5 - Nope, this is also nonexistent. Too bad!
4 - Not sure whether Ultra Necrozma counts, otherwise I'd say Giovanni in the RR episode.
3 - Beast Balls :\
2 - The Battle Tree is pretty much a more jungle-ish Battle Maison. Still boring to do yourself.
1 - You get to see Hau's starter Pokémon outside of its Pokéball sometimes. That's all.
What I think would make a good final boss is......
Yourself.
Think about it. A mechanic in game that you can kinda do the Pokemon friend code thing from diamond and pearl or the mix records thing from ruby and sapphire to obtain a one time only trainer from one of your own games! The trainer would have the Pokemon you yourself trained. The roster would be the ones you had at the time of transfer. Place in a simple story line of "I've traveled many regions and bested the best. I've come looking for a challenge. Let's battle." Or some variant(off the wrist idea there.) and voila!! You're greatest challenge is you!
Or perhaps even a real life rival, tournament winner or heck! Even one of the game developers! Wouldn't that be interesting?
Rogue T-Rex Hmm..... sounds interesting.
4:28
"... I'll wait for Gen 8"
Me: *looks at Hop* Gen 9.
Shenron to HGSS features: "Your wise has been granted..."
I sorta miss having more customizable options for your character. I know it still happening at sun and moon. But I personally loved making PR videos and sharing it with others. Plus I think that there are more clothing options in X and Y than in Sun and Moon. I also want the old multiplayer function instead of the new festival plaza.
hahaha no, sun and moon definitely had more variety
The most recent game I had played before Moon was SoulSilver... Man, was I devastated when Litten didn't walk around with me. I even heard an NPC say that walking with your Pokemon would make them more friendly, and I thought walking was something you had to unlock. Like I said, devastating.
You got one thing right, the liberation of HM Slaves in Alola. But no, not the competitive rival, (unless you consider Gladion). As for the new pokeball, we got the beast ball!
I'd agree in particular with the last two, the end game content for Pokémon has been weak for the longest time. I'm fine with end game side quests (helping looker), but I really want something that tests me and is challenging in a fun with. Although, lbh, this really only happened with the Battle Frontier in Emerald.
Pokémon Companions, would be a nice returning feature since it makes the adventure feel more real as you're constantly reminded of your trusted Pokémon.
*walking through town with wailord
*people screaming, alarms sounding, mass panic
I just want more cool fun side stuff like contest or the sports competition. Where you have poke with traits like cool or beautiful and they could enter contest and win ribbons. I also remember one game where the pokemon were racing, that was fun. Also the stuff where you use pokemon to make movies. Just stuff like that.
3:17 THE NOVEMBER PICTURE ON MY CALENDAR! :D
I kinda miss decorating your pokeballs and having those special effects. Also following you of course. Thoe r my choices
Definitely agree on companions and a fantastic rival! - Ash
An idea for a new pokeball, the rage ball. The more often that a pokemon runs away/the more of a certain pokemon faints when you battle it.(And if you k.o. a legendary and reset, it will still effect it) It raises the catch rate. Eventually it will cap out.
I'm fine with friendly rivals, as long as they do something interesting with them.
For example: I liked it in Gen 3 when they made Brendan as my Rival if I chose the Girl character, and May as my Rival if I chose the boy character.
It feels like I'm fighting myself, only as the opposite Gender.
But if you make a rival too friendly, it's hard to take them seriously half the time.
Really great video, I agree with everything
Number four made me think about black and white 2 when, after you beat the Pokemon league, you find the hero of black and white on a cliff and he battles you sort of like red except... he's incredibly easy
I'm sad that the Platinum Battle Frontier wasn't mentioned at all during his bit about the battle frontier. The platinum battle frontier, along with the rest of the post game content in platinum, is what keeps me coming back time and time again, even today. I was disappointed at the Battle Tree in Sun/Moon, because when I first heard it mentioned, I was hoping it would be a facility like the White Treehollow/Black Tower from Black 2/White 2
Ah I really wish that they would bring bacj the friend safari!
meh... I'd rather have a real safari zone over that stupid friend safari... the only good thing it did was give the players access to the Froakie line's hidden ability, Protean
this video hasn’t aged well...seeing that now the biggest request is to just have Pokémon in the game.
I’d love to get Hidden Grottoes back, they were my favorite Black and White 2 feature
It's videos like this that make me wish Nintendo would actually use one of your suggestions. Sadly, from all these kinds of videos I have seen, they haven't done it even once.
Now we just got to see if any of these get into Pokémon for switch
3:58 Dude we literally just had Gladion if he's not a competitive rival then idk what is
the dex nav is also a nice feature that should keep being a thing. Saves me a lot of time backtracking
I agree with ALL OF THESE. Don't care much for battle frontier or pokeballs. Might replace that with pokemon-ame or the intro videos yeah!
Some more choices:
The Flute items from R/S/E/OR/AS
Achievements from B2/W2, just don't attach them exclusively to a website this time
Pokémon World Tournament from B2/W2
The National Dex from the first 6 generations
Sky Battles from X/Y
No random encounters (at all) from Let's Go
That’d be dope if we could go back to a past region or two, like in gs&c
5:40 Actually...Ghetsis in BW1 kinda counts since he is the final challenge after you defeat Alder right?
I want the pokewalker back😁
It was pokemon go but 6 years earlier: walk find items and catch pokemon while giving exp to your pokemon for each step
