  • Taking out my Fat Bear Cub scooter for a ride. Disconnected the speed governed halfway through and WOW was it a blast to ride! Still need to figure out the clicking from the rear hub when I turn left.

I built my ebike from a Schwinn a few months ago. I've learned a lot since building it. I noticed your Fat Bear seems to bounce up and down a lot. For folks new to the world of ebikes. Here's what's most important. 1. Motor.. Most folks after getting used to the ride want more speed. Stick with a minimum 750 watt and up motor. 2. BATTERY!! Remember, the more Amp Hours the longer the ride it doesn't mean you go faster. I'd say stick with a minimum 20 Amp hour battery. 3. Voltage. Forget anything under 48 volts as they become too weak. 4. Tires, fat tires are great for off roading but lousy for streets. Finally, as a motorcycle rider too, the bigger the tires, the better the ride. They are a lot of fun.

What does the seat feel like on the Cub model? Is it comfortable? Most of their seats look kinda small in the pics on their website.

Hey there I just received my fat scout (After three months of waiting). Had a terrible experience with getting any kind of updates or communication from the company. After having only three days I’ve already gotten a flat rear tire. Calling around local bike shops nobody will touch it so I feel like I’m kind of hosed. Do you have any information on where to get like any replacement parts or service? I’m in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks.

There are better brand companies ( like by PHAT SCOOTERS or SCOOTERSON).
These are not as bad as you think, just not as quality in other parts of the product.

It's comfortable enough but after 30 minutes or longer it does make you a little sore to make yourself want to stand up and ride.
The place inside where the handlebar shaft and the lower fork shaft meet will need something some reinforcement. It's at the place where it moves, about halfway down past the headlight.
