I loved the arcade pit fighter game. The snes version was my 4th snes game to buy with my paper route money and boy was I severely disappointed. Walmart let me return the game for super ghosts and goblins. I picked up super contra after shoveling snow all day and I still have all my games in good condition with the original packaging.

For Contra III there was a really cool trick that you could do to use both weapons at the same time. The X button was used to switch between weapons. If you have the Snes asciiPad you could set the x button on auto which would rapidly change back end forth weapons and essentially allow you to blast out double the firepower

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time is one of the rare cases where the SNES port is far superior to the arcade version in almost every way (except for the lack of 4-player simultaneous play). Better gameplay, better bosses, more stages, and even the mode 7 graphics were better than whatever the arcade version of Turtles in Time was doing.

I have a strong attachment to so many games from 1992. I got my SNES for Christmas of '92, and along with SMW being packed in, my parents got me and my brother Super Double Dragon, so that's actually the first game we played on it. Joe and Mac was also the first game I rented. I had surgery in early '93, so I got Zelda, Street Fighter II and Super Star Wars to keep me occupied during my recovery. My absolute favorites from this list are Ys 3, Axelay, and Imperium, and of those, I'd have to go with Ys 3; it has great music, a cool adventure, really wild-looking equipment icons, and a crazy-big moveset right out the gate! Still, lots of really underrated games on this list, and even more underrated soundtracks; Joe & Mac, Ys 3, the weird Super Adventure Island, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Super Double Dragon, Magical Quest, and even Spanky's Quest! Spanky's Quest also had such surreal visuals; I especially liked World 3 and 4. Also, I will absolutely go to bat for Final Fantasy Mystic Quest; it has a lot of neat features, and is definitely worth a play.

While I would never consider WWF' Super WrestleMania my favorite for 1992, I was today year's old finding out The Genius voiced the ref in that game!! WWF Royal Rumble and WWF Raw were so much better or even the Genesis version of WWF Super WrestleMania which had 2 less wrestlers, it at least had finishing moves

Great game review video John. Played most of these games back in the early 90s when had unlimited time on hand like Super EDF, Axelay, Zelda 3, Mickey, SF 2, FF2, Mystic Quest, Top Gear. These are great games and didn't cost millions to make taking hundreds of hours to play through.

I received my SNES the Christmas of '92. It was just the deck with one controller. I got Final Fantasy 2(4) with the system. The first game I bought the very next day was Legend of the Mystical Ninja. I loved that game. I liked going to the arcade areas and playing Gradius.

I never owned a 16-bit console growing up. Went straight from NES to N64 as my parents wouldn't get us SNES or Genesis. My neighbor had SNES, and I would use any excuse I could to go over and play it. They only had like 4 games though so I really only got to play TMNT 4, Mario World, and F-Zero. I had a friend get a Genesis and another get an SNES later on down the road so I got to play DKC and Sonic, but not a whole lot else. I finally got both SNES and Genesis as an adult, but I am still pretty early on in building my collections for those.

It's crazy to think as much as I've enjoyed gaming over the years, as far back as my gaming history goes, I fell off the pace after the third gen and almost completely missed out on everything after that. Long story short, I ended up more-or-less going the PC route starting in the early 90s. I know the SNES is a very revered console, but I can count on one hand the number of times I ever played on one. I don't think I've ever even laid eyes on one since 1992. No lie, I think I actually put in more playtime on a Panasonic 3DO than the SNES (because I knew a guy from a rich family, haha).

Joe & Mac doesn't feel the greatest when you first pick it up, but after putting time into it it really controls fine and is a great game. I have so many memories of playing this co-op with my Mom as a kid. Really, I had just as much fun playing Joe & Mac with her as I did with other classics like Bubble Bobble, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, and Contra. It's always a shame to me that others don't care for this game like I do. (Sadly, all these games just don't feel nearly as fun to me in single player mode though either.)

How to cheese pit fighter. Play as the kickboxer and put your opponent close to the crowd and between you and the crowd. Use your jumping double spinning kick special which will help them twice and knock them backwards into the crowd. After a few frames the crowd will bounce them back to roughly where they were. While they are bouncing back to you use your double jumping kick again which will throw them back into the crowd etc etc
